I remember watching epicurious years ago, when Emily was just a ketchup monster and today she breaking down whole chicken all by herself. What a character growth!
Not only is Emily funny and a total sweetheart but her journey from ketchup-on-a-grilled-cheese to a skilled home cook is so inspiring. If you haven't seen the oldest 4 Levels videos (about 4-5 years back I think), do that. It's going to give you a lot of perspective.
Indeed, and it’s good that her humour adapted to that, from sarcastic comments on her shortcomings to actually deliberate bad puns. And in the meantime, I proud to have levelled from a 0.1 to 0.4 (I can cook simple stuff ok, but I’m still struggling with what spices to use)
Emily is giving ✨queen✨ energy in this ep. girl I know confidence takes time but you are well on your way! We love our girl from little ole Nova Scotia 🇨🇦👏🏽
There is no way you are gonna fool us by saying Emily is a home cook anymore. I remember when she just used to have ketchup for everything but I think she levelled up to a pro chef just by this episode. No call to Rose, she knew how to cut the chicken, the confidence permeating through the peppers, while still remaining funny and a total sweetheart. I think we need to give her a promotion guysss
would absolutely love to see a vegetarian/vegan version of these types of videos not only to compare the recipes of the pro chef & home cook, but also to compare the price of a vegan rendition of one dish to its regularly-made counterpart
When was Emily upgraded to "Home Cook"!? She has come a long way, and I am HERE for it! Well done Emily! =D Love her growth in the kitchen! Didn't even need a call to Rose! =O
Should do a 2v2 match. 1 Pro and Home Cook vs another Pro and Home Cook. No need for judges as they can just taste each others like this to keep it humble
Emily has made remarkable growth in her quest in culinary excellence 👏 ✨ I love seeing her interactions ❤. Also hats off ❤ to our new chef! I anticipate great things from this channel going forward
As a Brit, I was like… okay, who wants cold chicken? I prefer it hot too. Like fresh out of the oven… OH spicy fried chicken! Never would’ve known by name or description.
"Don't cut it in half, more like at the 40 yard line..." "That is neither basketball or hockey, so I don't get the reference..." Oh sweet sweet Canadian Emily
good callout on the mac sauce, a lot of people think it has ketchup in it, but it doesn't. mcdonald's canada released a video on making mac sauce and it uses sweet relish in place of ketchup (+ extras). way better than the typical three ingredient burger sauce.
I love Emily’s sense of humor. Please do more Chef vs Home Cook and the 3 chefs who make the same dish their way. Too much downtime between these videos.
When I saw hot chicken , I thought about the one we eat in Quebec (white bread, gravy, green peas and chicken). I was confused but wow this look good ! For me it’s more like a spicy chicken than a hot chicken, but still.
I don't know if Rose was also out during the recording of this like she was for the other recording (I believe it was the....Pasta Carbonara video?), but if she wasn't away for this... then wtf, Emily be flexing over here with the zero phone call XD
There needs to be a meet and greet event with all the chefs and home vids from this series. I just wanna give Emily a hug. She looks like a good hugger lol
i’ve noticed that there’s no rose or another food scientist on all these new episodes :( they do seem more streamlined but i kind of miss the little tutorial segment
I remember watching epicurious years ago, when Emily was just a ketchup monster and today she breaking down whole chicken all by herself. What a character growth!
She's still our Ketchup Queen
Years ago? Preposterous, that was merely days ago... I'm... I'm not getting old
@@JB-xl2jc felt
More character growth than some TTRPGs I've played!
I can't wait for her cookbook to drop, i bet it will be relatable.
Emily has come so far. No rose call and all the confidence in the world. She need her own show
She has. Not an Expert.
I think they got rid of the call but not 100% sure though
@@hellenjane Yep, not seen the call for a while, it's been simplified
@@Sertifi the call with Rose part was already a thing before Covid struck. You are thinking of the self recording during Covid lockdown.
More Emily
Lol I love this chef. He's so laid back and chill but he got jokes too. Need more of him!!!
There is a video of him in his restaurant on the eater > here ruclips.net/video/TzrMkN1kru0/видео.html
Because it's his own recipe and he was allowed to show that.
Season cabbage with cabbage
He does a great job explaining the science behind his cooking techniques too.

Ketchup on French toast my dude 😂🤣😂
I love how Chef Huang breaks down the science of his techniques. The food nerd in me is happy.
I love new chef Eric! I think the two of them have complimenting personalities and make the video so enjoyable to watch. Oh, and the food looks bomb
The only pro chef that has not dried out, crushed and transformed the Wonder bread into another type of bread
The series finale for this is going to be Emily as the Professional Chef.
Or as a level 4, where she goes back to her roots and breaks down how each of the chefs used their ketchup
"This may come as a surprise but I also love mustard" she is our condiment queen
Please never stop with the bad puns Emily!
Also, I really like Chef Eric! Very relatable and easy going like Chef Saúl and Chef Frank.
Lights the smoke gun and says “I won’t say what this reminds you of” 🤣💀
I literally took a bong rip 5 seconds before he said it 💀
My first thought was "has anyone smoked weed out of one those?" 😆 🤣
Love how mindful the chef is about food waste. And his reaction to that machine was cute 😂
Emily has grown so much as a home cook. Love to see it!
LOVE eric! Real ones remember that this is the recipe that exploded a couple years back and Pecking House was popping 🤩
I'm so proud of Emily. Look at her knowing stuff and cooking well.
Emily is giving ✨queen✨ energy in this ep. girl I know confidence takes time but you are well on your way! We love our girl from little ole Nova Scotia 🇨🇦👏🏽
I just found another favorite chef ❤please keep bringing him on
For Old Emily, "butcher a chicken" would mean something very different from New Emily, where it means to cut it up like a pro!!
Hope to see more of this pro chef in future! Had real charm in front of the camera.
Great to see Emily progress so quickly!

i love the pro chef’s expertise and demeanor
Emily is the woman of my dreams. She has it all together: Brains, looks and a good sense of humor.
A good sense of *bad* humour, and that’s ecen better.
The whisk pun made me legit chuckle. Well played, Emily. Well played.
Such a charismatic and smart chef, loved him!
Emily's character arc is amazing. Eventually, I want her to win America's Top Chef.
I'm in awe with Emily's journey. Her confidence here is great.
would absolutely love to see a vegetarian/vegan version of these types of videos not only to compare the recipes of the pro chef & home cook, but also to compare the price of a vegan rendition of one dish to its regularly-made counterpart
Watching Emily growing as a chef is just amazing! and Eric's take was just awesome! Well done!
i LOVE watching Emily constantly level up
I was kinda sick for a long time and i haven't seen a video in a long time but you're telling me Emily is a home cook now ? Im so happy for her
I love Emily. Her and Saul are my favourite Epicurious chefs.
When was Emily upgraded to "Home Cook"!? She has come a long way, and I am HERE for it! Well done Emily! =D Love her growth in the kitchen! Didn't even need a call to Rose! =O
She was upgraded a few episodes ago and everyone was SO proud 🥲 just watch some EPs back!
She was upgraded to level 2 chef I in the boneless chicken wing episode of you wanna watch that!
For once the ingredients for the expensive version and the cheap version actually looks very similar.
Should do a 2v2 match. 1 Pro and Home Cook vs another Pro and Home Cook. No need for judges as they can just taste each others like this to keep it humble
“I won’t comment on what this may remind you of” He’s a keeper, Epicurious ❤😂
I'm so proud of Emily, I remember when her "level one chef" days were just beginning on epicurious, way to go Emily❤️❤️❤️
Eric is a solid new addition, would love to see more of him.
Ikr? I normally prefer the OG chefs, but Eric is an exception to me in that I like him a lot
Another great episode, and Emily is well on her way to becoming a pro chef :) cheers from your biggest fan in Colombia amigos !
The way Chef Eric made this dish is A SERVE for real though. Bring this guy back!
Someway somehow every time I witness Emily complete her recipe not only makes me laugh but also gives me confidence. Plus she's awesome 😍
Watching Emily cooking such complicated recipe with so much confident is such a pleasure! Go Emily go Emily go go go go!!!!
Yay again for Emily making level 2! It's so exciting for us so I can only imagine how exciting it is for her! Big achievement !
y'know... i kinda wish there was some video were Frank and Saul work together to show somethign. Would like to see how the two would interact.
Emily…. Officially you’ve become a youtube staple.
I live in Nashville and had nashville hot chicken this morning in my breakfast burrito and a Nashville hot chicken apple fritter. Its so good.
Emily has made remarkable growth in her quest in culinary excellence 👏 ✨ I love seeing her interactions ❤. Also hats off ❤ to our new chef! I anticipate great things from this channel going forward
as a home cook i like Emilie the best , she `s really funny
One whisk pun? Ha! Emily can’t be contained.
I mean, why would she wisk it?
Thanks. I will see myself out.
He's so effortlessly cool I can't even
So nice that Lorenzo got promoted to Pro and Emily to home cook
when. did Lorenzo get promoted??😊
😂😂🗿
Thats racist. Not all asians are lorenzo
@@watosoguerra it's not racist it's lorenzoist...not all asains are that cool .. I know I was married to a Filipino lol
thank god, that filipino person probably doing way better now
Chef Huang makes me reminiscent of Chef King. Rest in peace. Chef Huang is going to be a great addition.
Nooo! I hadn’t heard that Chef King had passed away, at only 54. What a loss!
The Emily character arc is one of the best written character arcs in TV history.
Love everything he did to the basic ingredientes. Very creative
"What a noise." LMAO...Emily is hilarious, her carefree concern makes for good laughs👍😁😆
As a Brit, I was like… okay, who wants cold chicken? I prefer it hot too. Like fresh out of the oven… OH spicy fried chicken! Never would’ve known by name or description.
This is King's son. RIP Chef King!!
“ let the Wonder continue “ 😂 that was great 👍🏻
Notice how Rosemary Trout was not called AT ALL? Emily girl you are KILLING it and we all support you!!
LOVE Chef Eric’s vibes
I feel like a proud mother, Emily's come so far.
Another excellent episode! Such fun and positive chefs, and super informative as always. Love this series!
few years in the future:
Emily Level 3: Hello, I'm Emily, and I've been on this cooking show for years.
"Don't cut it in half, more like at the 40 yard line..." "That is neither basketball or hockey, so I don't get the reference..." Oh sweet sweet Canadian Emily
It's amazing how far Emily has come, and Eric does such a great job of explaining everything.
The comedic timing on that “whiské” joke was amazing lol
10:22 there is a GREAT really simple, authentic Southern recipe for Dirty Rice given here… YUM!
LETS GOOOOOO!!! Watched every one of these and I've just been waiting for more😭
This was so much fun and educational to watch!
I see a video from Epicurious with Emily in it, and I click.
good callout on the mac sauce, a lot of people think it has ketchup in it, but it doesn't. mcdonald's canada released a video on making mac sauce and it uses sweet relish in place of ketchup (+ extras). way better than the typical three ingredient burger sauce.
Eric: Dirty rice is a traditional Cajun dish, it's made with chicken livers.
Me, a Cajun woman: It's made with WHAT?!
Awww Eric was blushing so much in the end
I love Emily’s sense of humor. Please do more Chef vs Home Cook and the 3 chefs who make the same dish their way. Too much downtime between these videos.

Was looking for this comment😅
Let's be honest with ourselves. Emily is our fave ❤️
Is that our ketchup queen Emily butchering a whole chicken?! And no phone call to Rose?! This is most perfect character growth our life needs.
She looks like a good hugger lol
emily is the life of this channel
I absolutely loved this video look forward to seeing more
You're telling me a liver fried this rice?
Keep punning, Emily!
Also, these both looked delicious 🤤
i’ve noticed that there’s no rose or another food scientist on all these new episodes :( they do seem more streamlined but i kind of miss the little tutorial segment
Emily is such a cute pie! Love to see her cook
Those both look like amazing dishes
Oh Emily. You have my heart ❤️
As a Brit I’ve never heard of hot chicken, until he explained it was just fried chicken with a spicy coating.
That was amazing info about whole chicken butchering. I'm sold.
pro chef Eric is really great!!
So, when does Emily attend Culinary school so we can promote her to Pro Chef 😂?
Omg the suspense when Emily was grinding the hot af peppers 😅😅😅😅😅
Love the painting technique!
Emily fanclub ❤️
It really looks radishing emily. Amazing job!!!
They are both awesome.
I was expecting Nashville Hot Chicken
I need more of Mr. Eric!!!!!!
Emily is the mc on this channel and Saul is the best character.
Love how he explained why chicken is better on the bone then literally 10s later he said “we’re gonna start by deboning these”
Yea the bones would have added extra crunch in a sandwich
Yup, gotta love a boney sandwich. Yummy in my tummy!
Context matters. Use it.
Emily give us aunt's jokes vibes ando i love it💕✨
Homie gave the paprika a fat hit off the pipe. Respect.
