I desperately want to see a pro v. pro where they take the other’s ingredients and do it up in their own way. I want to see how each chef would make a certain meal, and then I want them to switch ingredients and be left to do whatever they would like.
i second this!
Yesss, that would be awesome!!!
So chopped
Commenting so they see this!!!
I totally agree
It's good to see Daniel 🥺😍
That boy made some flavored quesadillas
i was looking for this comment lmao
Please make Indonesian food 🥺
Chef Alan's sense of humor was the seasoning on this delicious episode
I’m so proud of Daniel that he didn’t call Rose today I feel like he’s grown a lot. :) love this duo!!
Nobody seems to be calling Rose anymore, I guess somethings up
@@un_belli_vable5506 really it's been months since i last saw epicurious's videos
@@un_belli_vable5506 Rose is still in the 4 levels videos, maybe they just decided to not have Rose on pro chef vs homecook anymore
Well, makes more sense that the chef himself explains his dish, than a 3rd party
I think they may be phasing out calls to Rose, the last few chef vs novice videos didn't have it either
I would love an episode with all the home cooks giving updates on if they've incorporated any components of the expensive meals into their normal schedules. Like Daniel in this case, I wonder if he'll make this guacamole "that slaps" in his day-to-day life.
Look, I know I'm adding that hack with the cooling tray into my guac prep
I bet most people watching this added Sauls cheese trick
This is a great meeting of two fun personalities. Daniel is extra and Alan is super chill. 10/10 would watch a food road trip show
More recipes with Chef Allan please! This was a fun watch
I learned a lot fr
Daniel is my fave home cook, Alan is chill af too.
@@internetRecRoom Exactly, Alan.
I always wonder are they really just home cooks in these videos? They have to be some type of chef maybe not pro but they know a lot for just cooking at hom
I swear to goodness I saw Daniel in an egg commercial the other day and was worried we'd never see him again
SAME and none of the egglands best commercials since, I thought maybe I dreamt it until reading this comment 😂
11:10
"A little bit of sour cream"
*proceeds to add half the container*
He has my respect
Yall I love this collab,Daniel is so sweet and Alan is super chill, like yes epicurious
What I like about these videos is that both of the recipes are inspirational; it shows home cooks that they can cook at a higher level (and gives them the ingredients and techniques with which to do so), and it also shows home cooks how much better food can be even with the basic ingredients. This show alone is way better than everything on Food Network these days.
Im expecting Chef Saul for this kind of episode but Chef Alan is so cool 😎
Chef Alan is like Chef Saul's super chill son with all the talent lol
I don't know why I hollered when Daniel said "I'm going to pick the cilantro leaves that looks the cutest". Hahah
I had the stuff on hand to make Chef Alan’s enchiladas and my goodness they were freaking amazing! Going to make them with this bean sauce from now on
That's awesome! I want to try that cilantro crema!
Daniel is the most professional home cook I’ve ever seen!😂
Epicurious is THE ONLY show I’ll watch that’s past the 15 min mark!! Fun to watch, they encourage each other while learning new things and also experimenting with the old. Great education!! Keep it up!! Love you Daniel, your awesome!!
Alan and Daniel, just two naturally crackheads cooking. LOVE they got paired, need more of them
Alan is a great addition to the lineup! Always love Daniel!
Daniel makes me smile. I love his energy and attitude about food.
Chef Alan's sense of humor was cute! Lol kinda crushing on him.
I feel like Daniel needs to voice a teen cartoon, his voice reminds me of something from Danny phantom 😂
Daniel is giving off big "Junior at Wesleyan goes to Madrid for study abroad" vibes.
Glad to see Daniel so upfront about his babiness with heat... 🤣
Okay but Daniel and Alan's chemistry tho 👀🥵 >>>>>>
What chemistry? They cooked at different times, and they only talked to each other at the very end and all of that was edited.
@@cwg73160 And in that short amount of time, it seemed like they had great energies
@@Nini_bats Having good energy and good chemistry are two different things.
@@cwg73160 Good energy together, what is so wrong with them having a good on-camera chemistry? Even if it was a short time? That's how auditions for shows work, too.
@@Nini_bats This isn’t an audition. This is an edited RUclips video. Context matters.
I feel like there is a more happy medium for this. Also I want to know where Daniel shops where he got all that for 16 dollars.
Depending on where you live, try local ethnic markets. Once you begin hearing different languages, you’re in the right place!
@@rickireign I had a local mexican market open recently. I'll give them a try.
I'm totally going to make Chef Alan's version. ALL IN!
Daniels Plating Technique - 10/10
Can we get something Holiday themed for this show, please?
Saul would have been a treat for Mexican dishes
Chef Alan is Mexican too and he does great Mexican food
@@Sletchman I think chef Alana’s whole thing is just unpretentious, chill and he definitely honors Mexican style home cooking, the one Daniel made looks like an enchilada potosina and that milanesa looks perfect. What he made with Daniel’s ingredients is also a classic in Mexican homes, except for that fake American cheese mix, but I mean, that’s what he got and I’m sure if I tried those would be some next level enfrijoladas
Chef Alan is just goals. The epitome of chaotic chill
Where’s Rose?
Rose won't be there for the pro vs home cook series anymore; she'll be there for the 4 levels one.
The resting rack might make it easier to get the avocado out of its shell without having to dice it up, but that’s also one more thing you’d have to wash.
Neither of them cook a real enchiladas lol
Press the avocado through the resting rack? Sure, I suppose that saves a very small amount of time. Except that afterwards you have to wash the resting rack.
This combo of chefs was awesome! They seemed to vibe well 😂👍
Epicurious did something to Rose. She hasn’t been on the last 3 or so of these.
I have been thinking the same
She's still on Four Levels.
Omg the avocado resting rack trick. Absolutely genius 🤩👏👏
That will change my life!
How to make enchiladas the most complicated way lol
I wouldn't say Alan's ingredients were expensive. He just had more to make things from scratch and attention to detail
Not sure what's going on with Rose... hopefully she was just on vacation or something. I like her segment, it's fun. But when Daniel didn't call Rose, I was suspicious. Then when Chef Alan made the tortillas by himself and gifted them to Daniel I knew something was up. On the whole, however, Daniel's skills are quite remarkable and I bet he could've made the tortillas himself as I am given to understand the process is fairly simple.
This was a great duo to watch please bring more of chef Alan. Love the growth in Daniel
Like the chemistry between these two.
I feel like he goes try hard on the Spanish accent for some Hispanic words and then for other Hispanic words says it the whitest way possible 💀
Wtf enchiladas cost like 8 dollar to make for a family of 4 people
Hell yeah .. so great that he sees “ Wit a little love and attention “ that’s what makes food so delicious… love .. I remember I used to cook for my nieces and every time it would be delicious.. even when it didn’t look too good while I was making it .. I’m the end it’d be delicious 😋 😂
i'm definitely gonna have to try these black bean enchiladas because I don't usually like red sauce
In the state of Mexico that I grew up, Michoacán, we never fry the filling. Instead, if they are chicken enchiladas we boil the chicken with seasonings like onion garlic, salt bay leafs and a little bit of cilantro as if we were making a soup. Then we take the chicken out shred it and used that a a filling for Chicken enchiladas. We save the broth to make mole or rice
P.s. authentic Mexican enchiladas don’t have melted cheese. We use queso ranchero or queso fresco with sour cream
What about cheese enchiladas that have no meat
@@-danny. that too that was more like spicy quesadilla lol
@@-danny. yes, we have those. We usually fill them with Queso Fresco.
Rose should cook in one of these pro vs homecook videos
the chef's enchiladas are actually enfrijoladas, look super goood
Both of their versions look just *chef’s kiss*
Dude Alan's looks like glorified diarrhea wrapped in a tortilla with some greasy cheese on top, and you can tell that he knows it looks bad, but he's gotta put on the smile and the wow factor for the show.
Chef Delgado should open a restraunt called "and a pinch of salt". Then when he opens a seoncd location called "and a pinch of salt" "maybe two". Obviously this works best with "maybe two" nested below "and a pinch of salt".
These two work well together :) thoroughly enjoyed this episode!
What does this even mean?
@@cwg73160 read it until you understand
@@ceeh7825 The cooks. They don’t cook at the same time so they don’t work together much less work well together.
@@ceeh7825 Do you understand?
@@cwg73160 She means they have good chemistry dummy
Alan salts very similarly to Frank. A lot. Love it.
This series should be called Breaking Homecooks, the Fun Way :)
Daniel is the real life Brett Hand from inside job
I've been thinking the exact same thing for so long
@@dangerfrombelow I would expect no less from a fellow dangerman
the ending was odd lol says hes mentally 19 then gets excited about 15, must be his dating range. lmfao he has the attitude of one of those guys
All I want for Xmas is a bloopers/BTS of these kind of episodes.
I am confused why they use so much vegetable oil when animal fats are far more delicious and also nutritious
That Chef looks like a walking red flag.
Daniel or Alan? Because Daniel? Yeah i agree he gives me a weird vibe
Daniel is Disney prince material.
His pronunciation is jarring. Don't care if it's correct or not, but putting on an accent for specific words is cringe unless you're speaking whole sentences with that same accent.
This is a total Guys supporting Guys moment
Go Daniel!!!! After sooo long ... Yaaaay 😀😀😀😀
I'm not a chef but my enchiladas would be more traditional so there would be no canned sauce lol
4:46 "and the temperature to be at 350"
350°F: 🤠
350°C: 💀
XD
I was surprised by the way Daniel spoke the Spanish words, he almost doesn't have any accent...
Huh? Did you not near him when he said guacamole and habanero?
He's Puerto Rican
We have a lot of Mexican content and it’s great. But we need more Peruvian one.
Enfrijoladas deserve more love and attention. Gracias, Alan 💖
This channel is the best for a foodie like me. It's a go to for nice recipes and the comparison makes you want to challenge ❗❗
Both chefs were super likable. Really enjoyable episode.
Why do y'all ALWAYS use the entire price for the "expensive" groceries but only the used part of the "cheap" recipes, though?
Like, my guy did NOT use $4 worth of Mexican oregano (looked like a tablespoon?), $10 worth of eggs, $6 for four cloves of garlic (!?), so why split them differently is all? 🤷
they use the whole price of the ingredients for the cheap recipes too. they just use higher quality, thus more expensive ingredients for the pro chef. that’s why things like the olive oil and garlic cost more.
@@alli7447 that's not accurate, though, to be clear.
@@Greydawg i mean i agree it’s silly. they’re just trying to get a big price difference to get views lol. that’s why i just enjoy the good cooking and ignore the prices 😂
These guys adding so much salt to their food 😮
Perfect I learn so many tricks when I watch these videos
If I close my eyes Daniel sounds like he could voice Robin from Teen Titans.
I love ALL of these videos, but I just adore Daniel. He seems like he's such a sweetheart.
9,000 dollar hamd sandwich v 1 ham sandwich
Yo Alan seems like a chiller. Would be stoked to cook with.
they’re so cute together
4:58 oooo that golden brown 😍
I always wanna see the pro use Their ingredients
Daniel is back! So adorable and charismatic ❤
which one is Daniel ??? one of them is really depressed he is almost crying (sorry first time seeing them at all)
@@royalhighs8465 daniel is in the green plaid shirt!
Wow Alan is soooo awesome!!!❤
Omg Daniel trying to fold the first tortilla killed me 😂
Chef Alan is baaack! 🎉
Alan looks like he skates, definitely.
Is Rose not part of this series anymore? :/
The beard is looking good Dan. This was a great episode.
These two just met, but I could see them as best friends. Both Daniel and Alan are fun, cool, love making food, and playful. Their energy bounces so well off one another. And if I’m not mistaken, I think both are Latino. Great job, you two!
Please bring Alan to 4 levels
I have a question is the price the total for all ingredients or the cost per serving?
Garlic 6$???? What? Limes 2$?? Egg's 10$????? What?? Sugar 3$??? 3 chillies with everyone 5$??? Why everything is so expensive?
i wanna see them do a quesa birra episode
Chef Alan is cool but I need another chef Frank episode, come on epicurious.
Wow, our home cooks are getting good! They're not calling Rose any more!
Speaking of Rose, please let her eat some of these dishes please.
I really like this duo
Still love hipster Jesus - Daniel is so cute and talented! Lorenzo is still my favorite level 2, but Daniel is very fun to watch.
