swimming tips from a D1 swimmer: focus on hand entry and extending your arm out in front about 2 inches below the surface and keep your elbow high in the catch. hold a steady kick throughout the race and focus on rotating through your hips from your core. also for the 500 consider uni-lateral breathing. it helps slow and maintain a lower heart rate, less fatigue to the muscles with more oxygen to the blood. learning a correct “open turn” will save a couple seconds in itself. touch with both hands and then drive one arm back with elbow bent at 90* under the water like you’re trying to elbow someone behind you while bringing the top arm up in a bent 90* out of the water and throwing your arm being your ear like your putting your cell phone up to your ear to call someone... “elbow your brother, call your mother” technique. with this focus on getting your knees tucked up underneath you to your chest as quick as possibly by engaging the core. then push off in streamline and rotate to your side and then your stomach. i’ve been following you for a little while now though and thoroughly impressed with your technique and how much it has improved it such little time!!! you’re so inspiring keep it up!

I have a suggestion for your breathing on your swimming. I would try 3 strokes per breath. When I was training to be a rescue swimmer in the Navy I was doing 1 stroke per breath, former rescue swimmers and Navy Seals recommend 3 strokes per breath. I felt the difference immediately. It was uncomfortable at first but it got easier over time. I would do 1 mile or even 1 1/2 mile swims sometimes and I wouldn’t feel too fatigued and my form was consistent throughout the swims. I don’t know how 3 strokes per breath would affect your Iron Man performance since I haven’t done one, but I would recommend talking to your coach about your breathing. Love the content keep it up the amazing work BPN! 🔥🔥🔥

    Preflight apple flavor tastes good.
The Pre-workout feels more natural than muscle tech. Muscletech makes my sinuses run horrible bpn does not at all.
6.2 miles average speed 9:58 per mile which is 15 seconds faster.
I'm definitely sticking to this stuff it feels better.
Why is there a need for yohimbre extract x geranium extract, l theanine and all this other stuff?
So, your ingredients i think are better and the company is.
The only negative is the cost.
I like the bite at the end it's good tasting

Totally feel the opposite about swimming definitely feel the most comfortable in the water. started training for a half iron triathlon next year. Already solid at running (10 miles) and swimming (2 miles)been doing those for years. No idea about the bike never went more than 20 miles but been using a shit Mountain bike (which is heavy as hell ) all I have until I save up some money.

4 watts/kilo is the beginning of becoming a competitive biker. Long way to go

  • @chrisdesrochers9062

Hmmm... maybe a bit more horizontal pivot, more extension on each stroke, attempt to make the body as long and relatively straight as possible without adding excessive muscle tension, slight s curve on the pull, bending the elbow a bit more mid stroke while carrying the stroke inward toward the midline of the body before extending the stroke to push the water back out near the adjacent arm hip. I think a catch up pull exercise with a paddle board might help.
Been a minute since I swam, but that's what comes to mind. If you can lengthen out your body and streamline, you take up more surface area in the water which can help you plane better/more efficiently through water. If you can do that while lengthening your pull for each stroke you'll catch more water, then bending more at the elbow mid stroke give you more leverage to reduce the amount of effort you need to push the water as your pull is closer to your body mid stroke, but watch to keep the direction of your hand facing near 90% to the horizon of the water as much as you can so you're maintaining your pull of the water to pull you forward as much as you can. You'll get some lift too, but it's common enough that not enough emphasis is on the feel of where a swimmer is pulling the water.

Sure you have 15 beats more because you have no ventilation. Your body is using the energy to sweat instead of pushing the watts. Install two fans, one each side of the bike and you will easy gain 20W for same heart rate.
