- A caller laid into Liberal Democrat leadership hopeful Layla Moran for refusing to accept the result of the Brexit referendum.
During Iain Dale's phone-in with Ms Moran - who is considering standing for leadership - Cornelius called up and he didn't hold back.
The Liberal Democrats failed to make gains in the General Election in December as Boris Johnson swept to a big majority behind his promise to "Get Brexit Done".
He said: "She still doesn't accept the general election result, the result of the referendum and they will still try to oppose any deal and make it difficult for Boris Johnson to bring back any deal to parliament.
"We had to have another general election because parliament was blocked and you're still rabbiting on about staying in the EU.
"If you are so entrenched in the EU, why don't you just get a job with the EU? Clear off!"

"We are the Opposition so we must oppose EVERYTHING" is a bad argument.
Apposing an idea is one thing , having no alternative or better idea with the situation you find yourself in , is madness......Truly insane ... You get no sympathy from the people , by being a constant thorn in the side of the people.....
It's INSANE. It's LITERALLY just going the opposite direction ONLY for the POINT of going the other way. She'd give her cat alcohol to drink ONLY BECAUSE the vet told her not to do it. Then she'd blame brexit for the cat dying.
The Laughing Rabbit yes and then she contradicts herself saying mp’s across the floor all citing the same is a dictatorship .The Lib Dem’s and Labour are just laughing stock .They aren’t interested in their constituents but are mad for the EU.Its cringeworthy watching them bang on about stopping Brexit ,much like the democrats in the US trying everything to take down a so far successful President Trump .

There’s nothing wrong with being the opposition in Parliament. What is wrong is when you vote overwhelmingly to hold a Brexit referendum then when you don’t like the result try and reverse it. When on the rare occasion Parliament does ask the people directly to make a decision then you HAVE to abide by that decision. It’s nothing to do with being in opposition or not.

When I did 'O' level and 'A' level politics, the purpose of the opposition was defined as "to watch, warn, and criticise". That phrase was heavily highlighted as it was looked for by the examiner. It was Never taught that the purpose of the opposition was to blindly oppose everything and anything. So was I lied to on school on two seperate, recognised courses, or have our opposition benches stopped doing their jobs in order to undermine the government?

"We are the opposition". That is not a reason for opposing right against wrong.
The responsibility of the opposition is to hold the government to account on the policies they won the election with not to object and obstruct the results of a democratic referendum but this is all irrelevant because the official opposition is the second biggest party not the 4th biggest party who has less seats in parliament than a nationalist separatist party whose seats are all in one region of the UK and who were outnumbered by independent MPs before the general election when most of the self serving anti democratic faux-politicians got handed the P45 they were all long overdue

The SDLp is not the opposition, the official opposition is the Labour Party.
This is the problem with Parliament. We're the opposition so we have to fight whatever is put forward regardless of it's worth or validity. Instead, they should say we understand this proposal is going forward, and ideas X,Y and Z can be tweeked because they would be better or enhance the proposals. This how it should be done, but they're so stuck in power struggles and bureaucracy nothing ever gets done or done well.
