      God has nothing to do with it. Good riddance that the UK is out of the EU, they have been nothing than a thorn in EU's side. The EU is scared of the UK? Really? The UK is a small economy compared to the EU's. Enjoy your independence UK, the EU is happy to no longer be in this unhappy marriage with you. If Farage loved Brexit, he should completely understand and support Scotland's and Ireland's request to get out of the United Kingdom and be independent from the tyranny of the UK. Only fair.

But for some reason, you guys still think eu is out there to get you when in fact your elites are just pulling a fast one to get their pockets deeper and deeper and make the middle class of uk suffer(let's be honest, the middle class of uk needs cheap labour) because that's how any reasonable capital state works.
      Right now, Boris is keeping an optimistic tone cuz telling the people how it really is would throw the country in chaos. And the funny thing is that the poorer the country will be, the stronger BJ's grip over it will be.
      One other thing, due the proximity of uk and eu, other states will always look to make a deal with eu first, not uk. Cuz even uk would be 3rd economy in the world, it could never match the unity of eu.

      All this jingoistic stuff has appeal - which is why it is popular with the likes of yourself and the Readership of the Sun - but the cold hard reality is very different. The EU which is a group of states not some evil behemoth - have been clear on their position from the start. You want zero tariffs, rule harmony is required. If you don't want to harmonise your rules that is completely fine but then you shall not have zero tarrifs. What is being done is shifting the blame to the EU for why we cannot agree a deal and why we should crash out of the EU without a deal. It is simple. Don't want to pay gym membership fees? totally fine. But do not expect to be able to use their equipment. The reason is that if the gym did allow it, then its other members would be cheesed off and they might also leave in the hope of getting the same deal. The gym would go bankrupt and then everyone would lose out. Not gonna happen.

      You are the fool. When we were in the Eu we were the only country to sell our fishing quotas. The rest of the EU said we were mad, but out govt saw a quick buck. What makes you think they will not do that again?
      Those super trawlers currently in British waters that everyone is complaining about? You think they are British?

    • @saltyshackles5227
      @saltyshackles5227 3 года назад

      @@mattsmith87 That's the whole point. The reason they sold the quotas was because running a fishing boat became almost impossible financially.
      Britain's fishing fleet was historically compromised of smaller fishing vessels, the quota system only works well for vessel's above a certain tonnage - mainly trawlers (much larger than fishing boats) & therefor it's harder to run a small fishing vessel due to fuel costs/size of the catch legally a loud to keep, cargo capacity, crewing, wages etc all directly tied to the maximum catch of a vessel.
      Many families and seaside towns around the coast received major economic damage due to the EU Common Fishery policy favouring large Trawler fleets from large corporations & went out of business.
      The local fisherman had to sell up their boats & quota's because running a smaller fishing boat wasn't economically viable anymore.
      Some trawlers are also terrible for the seabed as they run their gear across the seabed, disturbing the sediment, ripping out weed, rocks & local ecosystems.
      Over fishing is almost impossible with smaller fishing vessels unless it is on the scale of Chinese fishing. Over fishing with large Trawling fleets primary found in Europe is much more a possibility, hence the EU Common Fishery policies that was applied to Trawlers & smaller Fishing vessels. (Trawlers are generally much larger than fishing boats, between 3 to 10 times the size).
      If the EU had any intelligence behind the policy it would have set different rules according to the size, catch capacity and tonnage of fishing vessel or trawler.
      This is why seafarers like myself are against EU fishing rights in UK territorial waters, we need to rebuild our fleets & ensure our seaside towns get a chance to rebuild their local economies from fishing.
      Please don't believe our fishermen are against the EU because we see it as 'our' fish. It's because families & friends that fished for generations were intentionally handicapped by policy makers who didn't think about the small local fishermen & only considered the needs of the larger fishing corporations. Nobody stopped to think of the local man and his family.
      Just look at Grimsby, Fleetwood, Milford etc...these towns used to flourish with the fishing trade but now they are full of poverty, drug ridden, crime ridden & it isn't because people got bored of fishing.

    • @mattsmith87
      @mattsmith87 3 года назад

      @@saltyshackles5227 If this were true that it was EU policy that made the fleets uneconomically viable, then other EU countries would have been forced to sell their quotas too. But they didn't.

    • @saltyshackles5227
      @saltyshackles5227 3 года назад

      @@mattsmith87 Each country has different requirements for fleet capabilities. Portugal, Spain and Netherlands have larger vessels in their fleets because they must be able to go further out to sea, into deeper waters for lucrative fishing. UK vessels only needed to go a few miles off, thats why they have bigger vessels and we had smaller vessel historically. When this quota system came in, those countries fleets were set up perfectly for it, whilst ours weren't. Now to build a new trawler is very expensive, something a local fisherman wouldn't be able to afford.
      I dont know what the Government will do, I am just stating the reality of how this big mess came to be. I just hope in the end everyone can calm down and find a resolve in the middle somewhere that benefits everyone and not just one side.
