- Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson has narrowly lost her seat, with the SNP winning in Dunbartonshire East.
Ms Swinson, who became the Lib Dem's first female leader in July, was defeated by the SNP's Amy Callaghan by 149 votes.

Got to give her credit for one thing - it took Nick Clegg ten years to go from being chosen as party leader, to earning comparatively huge polling numbers, to suffering an electoral drubbing, and finally to losing his seat, but she managed to do it all in just five months!
Apparently she's going to ignore the vote and stay on as a mp.

I found her attitude towards the referendum condescending and disrespectful and I voted remain.
Similarly, as a Remain supporter and Liberal Democrat supporter, I found the revocation line to be one of supreme arrogance.

That was her concession speech because Swinson already knew that she'd lost to Callaghan and allegedly had to be browbeaten into leaving her home to attend the count. Look for the Telegraph video of her entering the Leisuredome. Such a poor loser!
Given the narrow margin, it could have gone either way. Politicians, especially party leaders, will have a plan for multiple eventualities, including speeches prepared for victory and failure; they'll read whichever one is appropriate to the result.
