      "iPad sells are plunging": Americans way of thinking…. Release new product!!!!
      Maybe new M3 chip, price raise are not the things to do in this period of time…
      Maybe price cut, a "do more with it" add campaign followed by software update and line up clearing because there’s too much iPads.

    Renaming iOS to iPad OS without significant changes was a mistake (even dishonest) imo.

    • @andre__b
      @andre__b Месяц назад +3

      i dont think so, i think iOS is far more stripped down than iPad OS, you dont need any desktop driver for m1 m2 etc in your software for iOS cause it will still be AXX chips, and you dont have the Pen. So iOS is the base OS, and iPad OS is iOS + iPad specific things, like different multitasking, splitscreen, drivers for the Pencil and the matrix in the display for it and the wireless charging etc.

    • @stodesign12
      @stodesign12 Месяц назад

      @@andre__b iOS has had iPad specific things since iOS 5 (13 years ago). Also, none of those things you say are really significant in terms of making it a professional device for everyone and getting actual work done. The best iPad Pro, with the best Apple Silicon and the latest iPad OS version is still just a media consumption device for most people.

    • @HenryBloggit
      @HenryBloggit Месяц назад

      The renaming of iOS to iPadOS marked a fork in their development where the systems would begin to diverge. That’s exactly what has happened and what keeps happening. With every new release, iPadOS gets more laptop-like with multitasking and windowing features, while iOS stays laser focused on being an OS for for the phone.

    • @AdmiralBison
      @AdmiralBison Месяц назад

      iPadOS is just iOS - 95% marketing with 5% actual difference.
      The real reason Apple does NOT want full MacOS on the iPad Pro despite trying to position the iPad Pro as a "computer replacement" for years is because Apple has a wall garden and consumers have no choice but to buy only through their App store.
      This MONOPOLY of the digital market space is what is getting government bodies EU, DOJ and consumer rights groups around the world beginning to mount pressure and anti-trust charges against Apple corporation.
      Consumers are supposed to have the freedom to buy, download and install what THEY want on their device NOT gatekept and dictated by Apple corporation.
      Apple can do whatever the hell it wants on their App store, but the moment consumers get a taste of freedom to choose from other stores, purchase elsewhere etc... Apple will be forced to compete.
      The obvious needs to be said.
      Monopolies are never good and never justifiable.
      Hell, even other corporations with their own monopolies (like Microsoft) don't like other corporations' monopolies.

    Whats wrong with the current iPads? Everyone that needs an iPad, got one. Of course the sales go down. And nobody gives another $1000 for a different color or a battery eating OLED. Only real feature that would move sales is the iPad mini with a real 1500nit screen AND (not or) phone capability with the cellular version. Another reason for a new iPad would be something like Samsungs DEX, but besides that, there is no reason to "upgrade" Processors make no more difference as the OS is limited, Cameras will improve anyway as old cameras getting more expensive then run of the mill 50Mx shooters and hardly have a "must have" effect.

    My iPad Pro is 3rd Gen and I’ve had it since launch. I do a lot of art on it now and will get an M3 when it finally gets launched. I will probably get the Magic Keyboard and new Pencil as well. If there’s a Matt finish, I’ll go for that too. For me, the expected additional cost offsets the cost of needing a Wacom, XP-Pen, Huion or whatever for my M3 MBP and if as one rumour said, it can be natively used as a tablet for an MBP anyway, I’ll be happy enough. As for MacOS, as long as my art packages are compatible, I won’t care overmuch. I just want the blasted thing launched!

I get it, it might not make a whole lotta sense for a lot of people but if I’m already paying nearly 2K on a damn iPad Pro with all its accessories, I would love for it to have the killer camera setups that the latest pro tier iPhone has. Maybe an ultra tier? But it’d sell so little.

    the issues are there are lots of competitors on the market hitting all price levels , the apple pricing is WAY over priced for what you get, nothing is worth over 1000 dollars especially when your still limited to ios no matter how apple try to sell it its not a desktop equivalent, apple have to do everything below 1200, the oled is a non issue due to the second gen oleds hitting 900 -1400 nits compared to 400-600 nits with gen 1, and pricing at wholesale are IDENTICAL, so apple shouldn't price penalty for this ,

    The ipad has stayed the same since 2018 because it is almost perfect in terms of design. Only the camera placement needs to change. What else is there to improve? Due to this I am worried that future ipads are going to ruin the design by trying to create something new, since users want new and don't understand the aforementioned.
    There are other things to improve, unrelated to design, like the OS, software, price, display, battery. Speaking of battery, if the move to the oled display can make the ipad thinner why not keep it the same, but give us a bigger battery instead? Nobody complained that the thing is too thick...
