Base model needs 128GB of storage. 64GB would be far too restrictive.

I love using the iPad mini 6 at work, but its glaring weakness is 60Hz. I can live without OLED, but if the iPad mini 7 doesn't have Pro motion, I would never consider buying it. The 11" Pro screen is LCD but 120HZ and looks so beautiful in comparison.

I returned my original mini 6 because of the jelly scrolling, but I got another later on and haven't noticed the scrolling once during actual use. You really just subconciously ignore it after a few minutes

It's also important to consider that many times they use more than one model of LCD for the same device. So a Mac Mini 6 could have had an LCD from Samsung and another one from BOE for example.
I have heard of people saying that one Mini 5 caused eye strain and another one didn't. It can be like lottery
I don't notice any jelly scrolling, but I use it more often landscape unless I am reading a book.
ppl who don't notice jelly scroll are usually old.. poor eye sight... etc.. that SAID... imo it isn't a big deal bc I don't READ while I SCROLL. THAT SAID AGAIN... apple admits that they rotated the internals so that the jellyscroll was worse in portrait. which was a huge mistake, obviously. that's why the ipad mini 5 didn't have this issue....pretty common knowledge.. google it.
I think I’ve had almost every different form factor of an iPad (because of work funds not my own 💰). I agree with you. The mini remains a beast and its early adoption of USB-C was such a win.
But will stage manager work in extended display mode with a monitor connected ?
It would be very ironic because the Mini would get Raytracing, but the more expensive Air would not, as the M2 does not have hardware accelerated Raytracing.
The iPad Air is the economical version of an iPad Pro. The base iPad is just an entry version. The iPad mini does not compete with any, it can be more powerful than others and not mean any problem, since the objective is to be the smallest iPad, but just as powerful as its brothers, not the most economical like the Air and the base.
This means that you can get raytracing without a problem, anyway there are so many restrictions on apps now exclusive to M processors, that you really wouldn't get any major benefit from that raytracing lol

I got my mini n release month. I love it. I moved from my pro to this as a daily driver. My only issue is the storage options. We need better storage.

What they need to do is change the display scaling. The mini is hard to read and increasing text size jumbles up everything. My iPhone *mini* is easier to read than my iPad mini.

Love my iPad mini 6 for work. Use it to take notes. Noticed it can struggle a little with huge notes files… and can be glitchy. Too bad it won’t receive a proper “pro” upgrade to an M-series chip.
I found a mini 6 in recycling once lol. Perfectly working. I thought it was too small honestly since ive never had a mini but it is pretty cool for certain thing. But my old iPad is 12.9 inch pro that is rly old so ima just use both and buy a pro.

I want an iPad mini for the Vision Pro. This model has a spatial camera system to take spatial video and photos. It’s the perfect size to edit the spatial content and can be viewed in 3D mode before sending it to the Vision Pro for that immersive experience.

watching ipad mini 7 videos i love the size it's perfect for me and planning to upgrade but doubting because i'm having some issues on my ipad mini 6, while watching youtube, some videos unable to load and stops halfway, it's very annoying, updated version, i already lowered the resolution, have a lot of extra memory space and the internet is good but i always encounter the problem. is anyone encountered the same problem and what is the solution?
I think Mini would be a great PDA but I don't know if it's actually more convenient for that over a phone or something... I don't know, phones are just too small for productivity for me and too big for being actual phones
One feature I wish that would come is external monitor support. Probably won't happen but if it were to, That would be my lone computing device. Cause what I use an iPad for is basically content consumption and reading so, it would be cool to have the option of hooking it up to an external display for content and productivity then while on the go, use it as I normall would use an iPad.
Seems like I’ve been waiting to update my ipad mini forever. Patiently waiting for the ipad mini 7 to FINALLY be announced. Looks like it won’t be included in the event on May 7th tho. 😔 But I’d love a suprise this week 🤞As an artist, I use an iPad Pro as my main content creation tool, but I mainly use it at home. When I travel(which is often) my ipad mini is the one I take with me.

Stage manager support is what I want. So that I can use it in full screen mode with a monitor and keyboard.

I never buy things on Day One release but make the Mini 7 with a 90hz - 120hz display and Face ID, and I’ll get it on day one. Might even have to pre-order it.
I got the mini 6, I didn’t notice the jelly scrolling much so it did bother me. It was only noticeable when I was reading something and scrolled really fast to skip some stuff. Jelly scrolling was blown out of proportion. Of course the scrolling is apparently bad when you slow down the video to show everyone. Actually use it and it’s not bad. You can dim the screen brightness to help make it less noticeable.
Some people say it will get the A16, some people say it will get the A17 Pro and you think it will get the 18 Pro. 😅
I’m still struggling with this. Should i get the mini 6 now or wait for mini 7?
With a18 should par with m2 performance cus ipad got bigger tdp for soc, it will run more stable than iPhone 16

The iPad mini 7 being released on September along with the new iPhone 16 is highly plausible. Remember that Apple waited 3 years before they updated the iPad mini 5 with an A12 Chipset to the iPad mini 6 with a new A15 Chipset and that lines up with Apple’s 3 year devicecycle. The next mini is likely going to have the precise chipset as the iPhone 16 series.
The jelly scroll never bothers me
I don't get how people see it so much. I have to purposefully set everything up to try to see it, and then its barely noticeable. In real every day use I have never seen it, only when trying to make it happen.
i'm not sure how much of a problem it's supposed to be when one needs a high speed recording to demonstrate/notice it.

I like the idea of a more high end iPad mini, I love the form factor but not the mid-range design. I didn’t upgrade my mini 5, but a pro mini would be great to go to from my mini 5. That, or the 2026 OLED model, as the mini 5 isn’t really slow yet
I would pay triple the price for a mini with OLED display and 120Hz display.
Please let this be real, I was looking at getting an iPad as I find my 16" M2 Pro MacBook a bit big to use on the sofa for a long period of time, and my iPhone 14PM is a little small, to watch RUclips and browse the web, don't really want a bigger iPad but I was just going to settle on the 11' iPad Pro as 60hz screens look so laggy and hurt my eyes a bit now ive only got 120hz screens so an iPad mini Pro with Pro Motion is perfect

The full size pro isn’t pro without terminal access like macos. Still OK for artisrs, but they want more screen size to work on - So why get a mini? Seems perfect for no one except people with too much $$ in their wallet.
My short and very reasonable wishlist for the iPad mini 7:
- ProMotion display
- Face ID
- Better battery life.
That's literally all I want. The size and form factor are great but the jelly scroll is annoying (and yes, it is there) and it dies quicker than most of my other products. Also, the Touch ID isn't near as nice as Face ID. Honestly though, if they simply gave it a promotion display and everything else remained the same, I'd still buy it.
Haptic touch would be nice to as my z fold 3 & 4 have it, so it's POSSIBLE.

My daughter took my iPad mini and I've been waiting for the mini 7. I might have to get a mini6 if it's going to take a long time (as in 2025). If it comes out in 2024, Apple can just take my money. That toothbrush looks interesting. We've been using Philips since the 1990s but the replacement heads are really expensive.
I need it to have the Promotion screen. And then as long as it can match the frame rate of my iPhone 13 Pro Max I will buy it. And I can finally sell that iPhone as I’ve kept it for playing COD. Some time back I had to stop carrying the Max phone as I’ve deemed it too big so I buy the normal pros now. So having this true in between sized device that’s also the perfect size for a video game machine would be amazing.
I use my mini 6 everyday for media consumption and navigation when driving to new places. Will def get 7 when it comes out.

How about work with them and establish reasonable boundaries, perhaps with Apple’s own Screen Time software, so they don’t fall behind in terms of technological know how (which is necessary this day and age) and also feel like outliers like the only ones being held back.

iPad Mini 6 cellular has been the best all around device if you only had to have one everyday device. If they upgrade the screen including brightness and bumped up the processor then the 7 will be great as well.
An iPad mini with an M1 or M2 chip and Pro-motion would be the perfect iPad experience. Don’t try to argue with me on this. 😆
The iPad mini 6 is the only Apple product I own. The only thing I would add would be fewer frames, a better processor and OLED screen. Without that, I would not change it for a new model.
We need a new "Max Tech + Mark Gurman" interview! Talk about leaks from last years: what happend to Apple Studio Display 7K and other rumored products? Will there ever be any M3 Ultra chip since M3 Max is missing that Dual Chip connector? M3 Ultra made from scratch? Thunderbolt 5 and heavy AI (Neural Engine) on M4? Maybe still TB3 on M4 and TB5 on M4 Pro/Max/...?

Only the iPad pros have Face ID, lidar, promotion, and are supposed to be getting oled this year, not even the $600 iPad Air has those features.

I stopped the video when the reviewer said about jelly scrolling as the main issue.
It’s like who wobbles their screen up and down to see something for the sake of it when it doesn’t appear in normal use. I’ve never seen it.
There are plenty of good reviewers who don’t go for nonissues and focus on what are the main issues. Heading over to those informative reviewers.
Far more useful are things like Face ID, wireless charging, improved battery life, improved screen quality.
Good video guys but I REALLY don’t see an iPad mini Pro in the future. Apple would just call it the iPad Pro and have 3 sizes. However I do think the iPad mini will very well get the features you mentioned, albeit with the A18 chip instead of A17 Pro. Better CPU but worse GPU.
Really holding out hope for 120 or at least 90 hz display…

I love my purple iPad Mini 6 but I won't be upgrading unless the iPad Mini 7 has OLED. The jelly scroll and 60 Hz screen are minor nuisances. I bought it because of its size. Perfect for taking along on vacation. Perfect for using at coffee shops. Perfect for using while in bed. I use it as a consumption device not for gaming. OLED is a game-changer. Anything else I will pass on.
Apple would create a Juggernaut if they made a Ipad pro m3 mini...
