Literally the ONLY band you can play in a social setting and have 100% Confidence that no one will have a problem with it. If anything, you'll make new friends!! Guaranteed!! One love ✌️♥️
Funny story. I was picked to be part of Ableton Loop (this exact event) in LA in 2018. Never knew them before and I actually discovered them here. They are amazing live!
"Less is more" So many have a hard time reaching what I call the plateau of creativity. Simplicity. Which to me means anything but "easy." It's much tougher for an artist or maker to deliver excellence with fewest components. DJ absolutely has a tight percussion sound and doesn't ever appear to go off timing. He's very good imo.
Taken from the comments of ruclips.net/video/vWLJeqLPfSU/видео.html :-D - This drummer has such a good sense of time that he probably doesn't find christopher nolan movies confusing. - I heard this drummer got lost in the wilderness with no phone or watch and when they found him 3 years later he knew what second it was. - The drummer once threw a chair in J. K. Simmon's face. DJ controls probably every MIDI master clock :-D
I love how Mark, literally after the first question, answers, “ya I found inspiration by getting as far away from ableton as possible!” … at the ableton sponsored event 🤣🤣❤️
I can literally listen to these 3 poeple all day..they are so fun to listen to and music they play makes your brain cool down if you are angry or something.. their music is soothing
100% I discovered them 2 mo. Into lockdown in 2020 and was HOOKED. Discovering all the live clips here on YT from freekin 2014 on, and watching them over and over got me thru that nightmare. When they finally made it to LA after all that, at the Greek I went 2 nights and they were absolutely so damn good it was fantastic, both nights packed and the rest of that tour they played to packed venues. I'm was so great to see them pop like that and I am so happy for them and looking forward to more awesome.....❤❤
I love how down-to-Earth these people are.. just grown ups who have decided to do something they love very well, no need for stupid hype, no need for stupid noise.. just what they love and respect and who they feel like being. I don’t typically like music without lyrics, but in their case I prefer when music doesn’t have lyrics.. it’s magical, it’s psychedelic, it’s khruanghbin..
this guy is a master of guitar, i dont know what you’d call it, mastery comes to mind, but its that heart is firmly in the center, not to ignore the amazing talents of the other two
He's 100% pro. Has done it all played live studio and gigged for almost 20 y been thru all the genres and found his groove for this band and their unique thing. It is very special when a band can create their own thing in this space we call music that is so derivative.. Steely Dan, Rush, ELO/Jeff Lynne/ Pink Floyd, many others... And now Khruangbin. ❤❤❤
I love this band so much!! Laura Lee has been my inspiration to learn how to play bass guitar. She makes it look so good! ❤ There is a special connection between each of the band mates, and they produce such perfect sounds together 😊
i just love this band they have helped me so much in the pandemic they have an amazing structure within theselves they honestly have kept my sanity in these really hard times
One of the best focused and laid back interviews from the band. They already made their great album Con Todo El Mondo, but it was at the start of the exhausting tour.
3 phenomenal musicians…Mark is a genius on that guitar, I love the technique he uses with his expression pedal going through his El Capistan delay causing it to loop over and over whilst controlling the decay of the loop, it sounds incredible
I love them, found them out on Bandcamp back in 2018 and been hooked ever since. Didn't know they used Ableton! Makes me want to use it more now 😅 also Laura Lee is my boo 😂
This interviewer keeps on implying there's something missing or something needs to be added. Bro, the trio thing has worked fantastically on its own. The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Rush, The Police, Green Day, Ben Folds Five, etc. It works!
Lol I was this many years old when I found that out too...only because I bothered to take a closer look to that weird sheen on their "hair". I'm like, "oh yeah of course..it's a (good) gimmick - like the Ramones" a whole package.
I know what you mean - Having *real* hair in that style shows 'commitment to the cause' (like Phil Oakey) or 'skin in the game' .. but however much they discuss their holistic music philosophy.. this is 'show biz', and I don't think we can deny that Laura chooses to turn on the female charm on stage with the choice of some of her outfits - and her moves. The wigs make them more interesting. I was more disturbed when I learned that Seasick Steve released a Disco album in the past
The interviewer is not very smooth or polished in the way he speaks, BUT, unlike most other interviews with Khruangbin, this guy covers typically uncovered ground. Great questions.
"...in that process you stumble onto something" said the guy in the Hawaiian-print shirt and cowboy boots. .....how cool is that they also use Ableton?
Groove -melody-rhythm look similar to music from Northeast of THAILAND. I like to hear they give some credit to the THAILAND country. Band name is mean "aeroplane" in THAI language.
Yeah… weird that they didn’t own up to that. A lot of artists have no problem giving props where it’s due when it comes to their influences. I guess this band isn’t one of them.
@@rkr6237 They have mentioned that in plenty of other videos. Almost every video you find Mark Speers mentions the Thai and African guitar scene influences
Well if Khru needs a violin i can be their's string section as a experienced violin player i would love play some Moriconish lines in those themes. just pay my tickes and food and i'm ready to go. XD
i love this band, makes the evening go by smooothly and relaxing. amd the less is more makes yhis band, if they would add more, it wouldn't be Khruangbin ;)
They keep talking about the lyrics. Ive listened to loads of they're music and never heard lyrics. Unless they mean the whispers and and harmony humming.
I would have loved to I Trevor’s them . Make them feel part of and express themselves even more interviewer needed to be more part of the Convert Instead of just asking questions . Good question . Need more feel and connection .

Haha love this comment. It is truly good in any setting.
For me it was the exact opposite. I had the cord and i put on Mr. White, all faces turn to me like, wtf?
Really? cuz i hate it
I play it with groups. One time a friend said "why do we play porn music?"
nah 70%
Laura Lee is a legit bass player. Her bass lines dont seem complicated but they are brilliant
The drummer is a genius. Really fan of the other two as well, great band, just found out about them but have been listening on repeat
You could use him to calibrate atomic clocks.
do you think he drums in those boots? :P
This is Ali G's best interview to date!
😂
I can’t un-hear it now. BEEEGUP
Nailed it!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The interviewer made it seem like a job interview , come on man its Khruanbin loosen up , roll one up
He could also use some sense of humor tbh.
@@ppunk502 i thought he was a very good listener, asked great questions and even made a great joke about pantera riffs which got Laura laughing!
This why the Brits can’t win a World Cup no soul just too damn mechanical
These three are phenomenal. I hope I get to see them perform someday.
They are brilliant live
Funny story. I was picked to be part of Ableton Loop (this exact event) in LA in 2018. Never knew them before and I actually discovered them here. They are amazing live!
You wont regret it, trust me
just saw them in berkeley last week and they were fantastic

Mesmerizing sound!! Seeing them Toronto 2024........can hardly wait!
I just caught myself smiling so hard throughout the whole interview
Same ! Lol

This band is definitely my new favorite. Love their work!!
Simple, consistent, and to the point. That's why this band will be around forever.🔥
THE DRUMMER SETS A STEADY FLOW OF SOUND FOR THIS BAND - A RIVER ON WHICH THE OTHER PERFORMERS FLOW QUITE NICELY,A MAGIC TRIO~KHRUANGBIN YOU ARE UNIQUE
Take a chill pill....
Can she get more adorable???

Same exact experience. ❤
Khruangbin, great band, great tunes and great vibes... God bless you all.
An unusually fascinating interview with one of the best bands around at this time.
One of the best focused and laid back interviews from the band. They already made their great album Con Todo El Mondo, but it was at the start of the exhausting tour.
Excellent interview. I simply can't learn enough about them and what makes them so unique. Thank you for these insights.
Same. I'm so fascinated and on love with their music
Count me in😊❤
I just love them. This was a good interview. My theories were confirmed.
really needed this today. Thank you.
The band is just so great that I'm seriously considering having "Khruangbin" tattooed on my forehead! Love you, Khru!
🤣🤣many would do this
Great idea
เครี่องบิน is it in Thai

Good interview. Lots of awesome info. Thanks.
Couldn't they choose a better interviewer. This guy is killing that positiv vibe coming from them
His delivery is awful, but his questions are quite good.
Im amazed of the energy that feels betwenn them. It´s awesome. You know, kinda wanna chat with them
These are beautiful human beings!
i just noticed that guitar player has the same hand gesture - like they are holding a pick all the time even if they dont - or griping the neck 1:51
The drummer as always zoned out into eternity. but jokes apart khru is a great band
Three genius’s! ALL AMAZING

i disagree. How so? To me he was respectful and genuinely interested in understanding how they make such great music.
I love this trio.
I love them so much but I just found out today that Mark and Laura are wearing wigs - I feel like I just found out Santa isn't real.

*booooshhh* *mind* *blown*

Thai Furious Fire From Texas; Love you Mark, Dj, Laura
They really talk❤❤❤

Mark has such gentle voice
You are everything
They have good music. Cool to see they use ableton!
I never thought I would like another band as much as Led Zeppelin but god damn

lol who is using that Boss tuner pedal on stage? I guess it's good to have just in case!
I think that's Laura Lee Ochoas effects rig
I love DJs vibes
Totally
I love what they do with three musicians.
Did we miss it, or are we just not asking about the hair tho?
Why these people doesn’t have a RUclips channel?
The drummer is in the zone.
he carries the time space for us all ;)
I like em and I thought they were from Thailand! Oops. Stay safe guys, keep up the wonderful work.
Lol
They're from Houston Texas.
Me too! smh
Kruangbin playing zydeco would be amazing.
Nia Common
The drummer needs a wig too i think
did anyone else notice that random pedal. all alone.
Quin Schwartz that might be Laura’s she only uses one pedal i believe
@@theq1011 nah Mark uses pedals. Not too many but a few still
Laura's compressor
It looks like a Boss tuner honestly by the trigger mechanism, the construction, and the color
It's a tuner to make sure the interviewer is in tune.
They needed a better interviewer - someone who’s actually interested in them vs wanting to look like he’s interested.
