What I love about this band is how despite being flash they’re thing is simple and basic in the best way, and it just works, it’s just the three of them , no overdubbing, transparent about gear and setup, and it just works.
Best musical coincidence ever for me. On a cringe bender with friends searching for 'Evanescence', and 'Evan Finds the Third Room' came on next and snapped us back into a realm of good taste and vibes. That was years ago. Have loved them ever since.
Clearly an organic collaboration, they sound authentic and inspired. Not trying to be a pervert but I am captivated & hypnotised by Laura's stage presence, for sure together the group are magic.
I was confused when I saw the thumbnail too, and then just discovered they got the wrong Laura Lee. Wow!!!! That is incredible. What a joke of a channel for messing that up. Laura is a queen how dare you haha
This is an excellent band. I discovered them ironically, a few months ago, kind of something that popped up on RUclips when they were performing in Coachella. And I’ve been following them ever since and listening to them every week. I love their sound very funky
I came across khruangbin from a newspaper story in some packing paper. I read the article, saw their picture, and being a musician, I had to check them out. Love s first listen. Been a fan ever since. Two years of khruangbin and they are still so fresh.
Laura Lee is the most interesting artist/person and I just want to know more about her. Such a cool story about Tuesday nights etc. Thanks for the video and interview.
I discovered this great band through listening through the Top 100 Spotify new releases each week. I try and get through all 100 as best I can. Their music so clearly stuck out when I first heard it. And I never looked back! All members fit perfectly together musically and that's what makes a great musician.
Never known music to sound so free. There's no powerful voice dividing the music from the people aka Lead Vocalist ...Bless your style it penetrates like a new sun.
it's interesting how she didn't start to play in the band for 3 years - and wow - i'm grateful events fell into place as they did. their sound is so unique and mesmerizing. pretty much my favorite band
My thanks to J.D. for introducing me to this band...via Facebook! Talk about charisma, OMG, Laura Lee....The band is just surreal...Indeed the Universe is smiling....
@@tphillips33 For me it is similar to Miles Davis and specifically his performance in Tokyo 1985 "Under the Sky", but of course these guys are "modern echo of the retro" as I see it :)
Does she wear a wig? Her hair is so on point. If I were potentially going to be a common face + hair style, it would be nice to leave the wig and live my life with less public recognition. So pumped, I’m seeing them tonight in Atlanta!! Long live Khruangbin. 🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely one of the most underrated, unknown bass player. She is so damn good, her touch is beyond perfect, and her chops are flawless. I had a friend named Katie who I was showing bass...she would've been amazing if she would've kept playing. Some people are just born to play bass...it lives in them like some sort of warm sweet vibration.
Wow, I genuinely cannot agree more when she says that the bass just 'fit' for her. I picked up guitar when i was 18. I enjoyed it and liked learning some songs but i always found it kind of frustrating to play. I have big hands and I would get irritated trying to hold down chords and play them cleanly, or how often guitars are in alternate tuning. Skip forward to 2021 and I'm getting really into bass from listening to artists like Roosevelt and Men I Trust. In 2022 I got my first bass and like she said, it just felt comfortable. The instrument suits me so well, and the role it plays in a song / band. I constantly feel the urge and desire to play it and its been about 9 months now and the buzz is still very much alive.
I'm curious. She started learning bass arround 2009 tought by Mark and 1 or 2 years later she was ready for stage already do I get this right? Respect!
She didn't think she was ready, but Mark pushed her to tour with a band he was performing with. (If you ask me, performing is probably what took her to the next level... you learn by doing, y'know?)
Found out about this band 2 months ago out of all places……..Pandora, Kings of Leon station. Holy shit I am glad I found them. She is beautiful to go with her bass notes😊
As a musician, I have a thing for lady bassists and she is in the top 5 or so but I’m not a huge fan of their music overall (not bagging on it, cause…..tastes vary), my issues are around the guitar and I am a guitarist so I’m fine leaving it there, however I have to say the collaborations I’ve heard are absolutely outstanding and these guys are instantly recognizable. And I could listen to her lay down grooves all afternoon.
Having dinner together every week for 3 years before ever playing music together is absolutely charming ❤
Why did they wait 3 years if they were all musicians?
@@ashgonza92Laura had just started learning to play, it take a while to feel confident enough on a new instrument to play with others
The Leon Bridges collaboration is a such a gift.
Those 2 EPs are always on my road trip playlist.
Yessss!! So good
I'm 51 and have to say one of the best groups I've heard in a long time . Great music love it
Same here.. But you don't have to mention your age... 😊 (I'm about your age)
Great music i agree
I'm 46 g-damnit! I'll claim to be a part of the generation of the 51 year old. Proud to say we have an ear for good 🎶.

Fantastic band. Her bass lines are super tasty. She seems to be a very cool person too.
Her bass lines are sickwiddit.
@Grizelda She's a beautiful person. ☺
She clearly listened to Jamerson-Jemmont ALOT!
She comes across so grounded, it's the key to a happy life.
You can see how much she loves doing what she's doing.
You can tell the bass is what Laura feels comfortable with, she's phenomenal!
This band live is def a gift you all have to give yourselves

I love the way she flawlessly broke down the sound of the band.
I think the thumbnail for this video is incorrect.
Yeah...wrong Laura lee 😅
Yeah, wth LOL
Was it a mistake or was it used for click bait?
I was confused when I saw the thumbnail too, and then just discovered they got the wrong Laura Lee. Wow!!!! That is incredible. What a joke of a channel for messing that up. Laura is a queen how dare you haha
Her grooveness is sublime.
She is the definition of sensualness on stage
I know!
Ya i agree,,, she is so soothingly sexxy on stage
Not the definition...but a great example. People love to misuse the word "definition" these days.
...and sensuousness or sensuality. You're welcome.

She is actually quite the bass player. Talented in the extreme. The whole band is great.
I'm going to see them this June 🤍 Leezy is the reason why I started learning electric bass! 🎶

Im a huge hardcore fan but Khruangbin is one of the very few chill bands i absolutely adore
nice lady. Nothing better than the joy someone exudes when they get to do what they love with people they like to be around.
She is so beautiful and her sound is so unique

Yeah that is not Laura Lee from Khruangbin on thumbnail, this should be corrected
Ikr i noticed that haha i was like umm? 🤔
I contacted the authorities
I though it was the interviewer but its also not the interviewer wth
Wtf
Great interview with the amazing and beautiful Laura. Thank you for having her on. I can’t wait to see them this December in St Louis!!!!
She is too cool for school. What a great story about how they formed their band.

What a cool sounding bass player Laura Lee is , So melodic
Seeing her onstage, I pictured her having a Romanian accent or something like an exotic baroness. Texas. Huh. I love it.
..that's because of her wig

LMFAOOOOO the thumbnail being laura lee the youtuber is actually hilarious
I WAS SO CONFUSED
Houston!! I just stumbled into this band. Amazing!!
Without forgetting that her band mate, Mark is a hell of a guitarist, fucking hell
So were they divorced? I thought they were a married couple. It sounds like they split.

She's awesome!
Is this video the whole podcast? Or is so much longer? :(
Thats not Laura Lee in the thumbnail, lmao.

Khruangbin just announced a new tour for 2024. Who's going?
😬😬😬 *ALERT* the photo in your thumbnail is of Laura Lee, a beauty influencer here on RUclips and not Laura Lee of Khruangbin.
She looks extremely comfortable when she plays bass
She could have said it's "Vibe" music...Nothing specific, you just vibe to it, baby. 😁💯🔥🔥🔥 👍🏾🤜🏾
They always mention this church stuff but does anyone know what they name of the church is?
