Watching this episode the first time I could not stop crying. Considering the fact that they don’t fear death, and they leave those of which they love behind, I couldn’t hold myself together.
Personally, I never really understood a fear of death. Scientifically, philosophically, everything in-between. The universe is like materials. Carbon-12 here is Carbon-12 in the Andromeda galaxy. A literal law of matter is that it cannot be created nor destroyed. As matter is energy, this goes same; Energy cannot be created nor destroyed. Science is just upset because the delicate machinations of these sorts of findings require instruments that we cannot yet fathom. Philosophically, existence in a hereafter or a continuation of a "soul's journey" has been the basis of "status quo" spirituality since the dawn of time. For proto-humanity, life is cyclical; rejoining the earth after it's temporary end in finite form. For the Greeks, life is cyclical; the essence of one's soul travels from point to point to point to refine itself. To the advanced spiritualist, life is cyclical; a journey of either self-exploration or development as one eventually spirals upward. Heraclitus, Anaxagoras, Pythagoras, Protagoras, Nietzsche, Tesla, Einstein, Heisenberg, Jung, Newton, Locke etc etc. So many of humanity's greatest minds, both scientific and spiritual all arrive at a similar destination; all the while studying totally disparate disciplines while having completely different backgrounds, and separate passions. It is only the modern scientist...for some reason...that seems hellbent on convincing the masses their respective souls are invalid. Mankind sits upon a throne of pride, declaring that the highest peak of understanding has been climbed while ignoring the moon, sun, and stars above.
@@ivorymantis1026 I believe its just like the fear of unknown. When you realize you don't know what's going to be after your death or that this is indeed a total end of your journey, fear appears naturally. You might think you don't fear and totally believe it, but when the time is near, you will realize it's inevitable to have it.
@@ivorymantis1026 ohhhh, this was a very poetic and informative answer, I love your comment. 😁 Personally, I agree with you. I don't fear death on a way that I'm happy to know that once in the future I get to experience it. I'm really curious to see where will I open my eyes again and what will I see, once I closed them the last time in this life. Whether I will have eyes or not, I will see a new place and experience new things. 🤩😇
when the song came on as Nevin was in the air looking at a sunset, I couldn't hold back the tears... this scene and the speech he made before it really got to me. Knowing that the end of your life doesn't have to be scary if you know the way you lived beforehand was worthwhile....
When I watched this I was feeling very suicidal and I cried my eyes out because i needed something like this. This gave me some hope for my life, almost like a message to not give up just yet.
One last dream together. Flighting towards destiny. Nevin had seeds inside his vessel. He gave all the force remaining to let them bloom. By dying, he became immortal. He was reborn. The ancient dragon became Chise’s staff, like the perfect union of two kind souls becoming one, and becoming new flesh. With his last breath, Nevin also planted a seed in Chise’s soul. _”In order to live, you must also soar into the sky.”_ And that seed, when the time will come, will beautifully bloom as well.
I cried so much after watching this scene as well as others from this anime. The music just adds to the beauty of the scene and makes it so moving. This anime will always remain one of the many that pull at my heart and soul.
Interestingly, the song title "Liberoara" is in Catalan, a Latin derivative language, which is why I thought it sounded Latin-ish. "Libero" means "free", and "ara" means "now." The rest of the song is in Catalan too, but I can't find a source for the written lyrics.
Maybe this? Rising righty al rai fa My say is pride or tus Rising righty al rai fa My say is pride or tus Rising righty al rai fa My say is pride or tus Rising righty al rai fa My say is pride or tus Far here a ray lay heart aside So mighty heart it tight Right me across To were we went To where we are Far here a ray lay heart aside So mighty heart it tight Right me across To minit to any ar Ah.
Hold on. I thought the song was in chaos language because you here more than 3-5 different languages in it. If you don't know what chaos language is then a good example is Emmy Evans since i think she was the one who created it and since then other artists have been using it in anime from time to time like Pulla Madoka magica.
I can’t even explain how much I needed this series when it came out. It resonated with a piece of myself I refused to deal with and I cried my eyes out during this episode. The whole journey Chise makes and those she meets along the way change her in a way that makes her believe in life again. This will forever be one of my favorite shows.
The look on Chise's face when she sees the sunset always gets me. Like she cannot believe that something so beutiful can exist. And like she hates herself for believing all her life that the world is only cruel. Just look at her face, I've never seen more emotion in a face in an animated series.
I watched it for the first time in January 2021 and honestly this is one of the few anime I'd recommend if you're going through depression and/or PTSD.
I just watched this today, tbh i cried but i that's not a sadness but a tear of joyful, i never get such an emotion like this, like sadness, joyfull, pitty, all combined and mixed in your fellings.
Me da tanta alegría que esta canción de Miu Sakamoto sea conocida. Me encataria que llegase a más visitas y likes en su canal 😢❤ por favor, dejen su like acá y en el canal de Miu Sakamoto 😢❤
I can imagine a scenario between me and my elven husband in a garden telling me the trees are calling him and he needs to leave. then I told him that it's okay for him to leave then his body turns into a big tree

After almost a year of first watching this anime, I'm pretty sure that this scene was what solidified my love for this show.
when the song came on as Nevin was in the air looking at a sunset, I couldn't hold back the tears... this scene and the speech he made before it really got to me. Knowing that the end of your life doesn't have to be scary if you know the way you lived beforehand was worthwhile....
Death itself is not scary. What happens after death is what keeps people from approaching it.
When I watched this I was feeling very suicidal and I cried my eyes out because i needed something like this. This gave me some hope for my life, almost like a message to not give up just yet.
I hope you’re still doing ok. I was pretty suicidal before I saw this too. And I saw it a few days ago. I’m still in tears.
how are you doing now?
One last dream together. Flighting towards destiny.
Nevin had seeds inside his vessel. He gave all the force remaining to let them bloom. By dying, he became immortal. He was reborn.
The ancient dragon became Chise’s staff, like the perfect union of two kind souls becoming one, and becoming new flesh.
With his last breath, Nevin also planted a seed in Chise’s soul.
_”In order to live, you must also soar into the sky.”_
And that seed, when the time will come, will beautifully bloom as well.
The dragons have a unique way of looking at death. Knowing that when their time comes, they will literally become part of the land.

Ara ara ara
Are you sure about that? I'm from Valencia, speak Valencian / Catalan quite well and I don't understand a thing she's singing.
boret98 lol I think she was just singing in English. I hear some words like “far here lays the hour sight”? 😂
Maybe this?
Rising righty al rai fa

Most beautifull anime scene I have ever seen...

The soundtrack of this serie is beautiful.
i bawl my eyes out every time

Oh Nevin. I love that dragon so much!!

Iknow it's been two weeks but i think this song is bad for depressed people and you know why 😅
Oof... coming back to these scenes after watching the new season, it's heartbreaking to remember how exhausted Chise looked back then, all the time...
Anyone know if there's a genre for soft music like this? So beautiful.
TheFunPop I was wondering the same thing. I love soft music like this. Like vocal orchestral. (If thats what you call it??) 😂
I think is Worlds Music. A kind of artist of this genre is Loreena McKennitt :)
Borders by Kalandra.
You Say by Lauran Daigle
Current by Phoria
A Taste of Honey by Patricia Barber

Name of the song is actually Latin and would normally be written as libero ala. Libero meaning free and ala wing.
I just watched this today, tbh i cried but i that's not a sadness but a tear of joyful, i never get such an emotion like this, like sadness, joyfull, pitty, all combined and mixed in your fellings.
Melancholy or loss, take your pick
