  • CHAINSAW MAN IS A GREAT ANIME! | Double Toasted - We haven't talked too much about anime on here, or manga, but when it comes to the idea of anime vs manga, we're not sure what fans think is better out of the two, but Korey went into this anime looking for cool fight scenes, and after watching 5 full episodes (didn't have time to get from 1 to episode 12), we have to say that this anime is pretty awesome!

Fun fact: the creator of this manga series is big cinema fan and he includes multiple references to contemporary movies mainly in the opening sequence! The characters are acting out moments from Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, No Country for Old Men, The Big Lebowski, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, with more direct comparisons to Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Constantine. It even cuts to the characters messing around in movie theater part of the way through.

Not to be that person, but Denji is not a fiend. I do not blame anyone for thinking he is, but whatever Denji is and a fiend are a bit different. Just for comparison, the character Power is a fiend. She is a devil who took over the body of a human corpse. She has characteristics that differ from a human (like her horns) as well as having her devil personality. There is no trace of the human that was there. Denji, on the other hand, is still very much himself. Before he transforms into his chainsaw form, he has no characteristics such as horns that make him stand out from the average human (I know he has sharp teeth, but he had those even before he was brought back). Instead of taking over his body, his chainsaw dog revived him.

Man, I don't want to be that guy, but the groping scene with Power and Denji..the point of it flew right over Korey's head. It is _absolutely true_ that Denji's _first_ "new" goal in his new life is to touch some boobs for completely selfish reasons. But. _But._ Once he achieves this "dream" of his, he feels hollow and empty. The thing he wanted most in this world - "groping some boobs" - proves to be unsatisfactory and even meaningless, and it shows Denji going through that process of thinking, "What was the point, even?".
Also, Power isn't even human so the whole groping thing doesn't bother her one bit and she's confused as hell as to why Denji would want to touch them in the first place.

The show definitely tows the line, but there’s a method to the madness. Yuu Hakusho if you've never seen it before is good but it starts off very monster of the week but finds it's stride. It's would still be a thing If they'd sold more toys.

The part that I hate about anime is liking anime and telling an anime fan what anime I like, and then having to hear a crap ton of recommendations that I'm 100% not going to watch. So it's better to just enjoy anime and not tell anyone.

The Fandom is pretty bad. I have to agree. I have been almost bullied in to watching anime that I don't care for. I like my shojo stop trying to get me to watch a genre I won't watch.

The Manga and anime are like two different artistic interpretations of the same story. More so than something like Naruto. But Chainsaw man is an anime that people who don’t like typical anime can get into because it has a pulp feel to it.

For me, Chainsaw Man really went off the rails was when all those agents (coworkers of Chainsaw Man) got assassinated. I was like, "What the fuck?! I wanna see what happens next! Waku, waku!" But I gotta say, I kinda think Bocchi The Rock was better, last season.
