Great tutorial. Only place I found it it was O’Reillys like you said. It was $118 and I got $18 back for the core. I just install it today . I will get back to you after I reset the light for the code P305.
I replaced the spark plugs and replaced the accessory battery. My car ran well and then at 72 miles my check engine light blinks and then goes off. Any advice?
Hi Jose. Hey did you ever have to replace the "Dual Battery Control Module"? I think their is a service bulletin on the control module. I am worried that if I just replace the batteries, that it is just a bandaid on the real issue of the control module.
@@ryandickey8345 , Hi Ryan, I apologize for the very late reply. The assessment was for around $1,100.00. We never did replace the dual battery and never took the vehicle back for servicing. The car has since been used for my wife and the car has not broken down after about 1.5 years. It has very low mileage on the vehicle. So I really have to question the assessment from the dealership that I took it to.
Im wondering the same. What's the bcm? I was going to replace the whole component, which is the dual battery control module. But i think maybe change my auxiliary battery first. The first time i gof the p305f code. It drained my main battery. I replaced that. A month goes by and the code and check engine light are back. Some say i should have changed the auxiliary battery than. So i will recharge both batteries than test with my multimeter to see if all volts are 😊
I have a 2014 Chevy Malibu also. Only 35,000 miles on it. Auto stop start hasn’t been working all the time. Drove it Saturday and it did auto stop start and then check engine light came on. Took it to Chevy dealership and that said aux battery and ground wires. They want 850 dollars to do everything. Is it really that hard to replace the ground wires? Thanks for this video. Def have the same exact problems, but I just have a hard time believing the grounds are messed up with way less then 50,000 miles.
Thank you! I thought that was a complete rip off. 850 dollars for some ground wires and a replacement battery? And of course they will not honor my warranty that I paid an extra 3,000 dollars for. And this won’t mess with the computer either will it? Advanced can erase the codes can’t they?
@@JoseGuzm4n okay its weird because, it gave me the code for the aux battery & my check engine light hasn’t gone away. on top of that the auto stop isn’t working at every complete stop.
Bro, I bought new front battery and code was still on, I bought a used aux battery and installed, disconnected the battery like for 20 minutes again and code was gone , that was like 5 days ago, and today code came back on, do you think I need to buy a new aux battery?
jose guzman brother I haven’t bought a new battery because code dissapeared once again but today it came back on, do you think it can be some type of ground or aux battery
I have a 2015 same issue..will this work for me? I checked o'Reilly website the one u recommend has 180CCA and mine says 155CCA, will this cause any problems?
Thanks for the quick response!! I'm gonna order it on payday..lol & thanks for this video..I was already talking to the dealership cause oreillys told me they didn't have it & I knew it was gonna be bad.
If you can’t find a replacement battery locally check Amazon. ( ACDelco AUX12 Professional Automotive AGM JIS 12BS Battery) cost $95. Got it the next day.
So apparently the only place to get them in store is O’Reilly. I tried autozone and the sensor plug is to big for the hole and it’s in the middle where the cable goes instead of on the side.
I have the 2016 Malibu ls Limited and the 'battery saver mode' just came up. I just got the front one replaced , so I know it's not that one. Is the aux batt going bad ? Did it start out like that too on your Malibu???
Tom My check voltage on batteries after car has been off for 1 hour. If it’s below 12 volts on the aux then it’s time to change it because it’s not holding charge. If the front is low too then you might want to check your charging system. On the Malibu once it detects low voltage it goes into battery save mode
Yo Jose! Thanks for the video! Hey, yunno how after you erase the codes and the check engine light goes out...how long do you need to drive your car for it to go through the cycle, so that it's ready for diagnostic testing or an emissions test??
So i checked the battery in the trunk n it read good. Engine light on n replaced battery under the hood few months ago. Now the car sometimes pulls/jerks while on the gas...i can see the spodemeter jump. But I got the same code as you po3o5 or WHATEVER...do u think its the battery that still needs to b replaced even though thr battery was tested good.
@@JoseGuzm4n yes the light was reset after battery was replaced. Small battery has never been changed out. 116000 miles...battery tested good n if installed\put in the trunk it cannot be returned.
Clarissa Lucas is your car equipped with auto start stop. If so with that mileage you definitely need to change it. Once the load is applied it starts to make the car do weird things das flickering stereo ac and so on. All different scenario but same concept. Change the battery these cars use alot of juice.
jose guzman one last thing my radio doesn’t turn on but everything on the dash works as for the controls for the a/c and etc. is it possible the battery is causing that too? Because I bought a whole new radio.
