      I agree. this is actually a fantastic hack, and she didn't paint it!
      I feel like this would last a lot longer than a lot of store bought dividers too that use wicker and materials that look ratty if they get a bit damaged.

    • @donnabacon4681
      @donnabacon4681 Год назад +3

      @@porkchop9024 hope this works out for you! Maybe a stain first, as that soaks into the wood, then seal(?). Or there's the Japanese practice of torching the word (can't think of the name) - ever so slightly. This removes the moisture, which stops rot & insects. And because there is less/no moisture, the wood is lighter. I've seen videos whereby people use this practice to prevent rot & lower the weight of the wood, which is great for Tiny Homes on wheels. I've seen this done on decks as well. The challenge is, you have to clean off the soot & that's nasty!! Yet! Maybe worth it; since these brackets are so narrow, it won't take long, and not be as messy.

      Maybe think about visiting your local JoAnne Fabric store or Michaels and looking in the "remnant" bin, you might find EXACTLY the PERFECT size & price for your project at 50-75% OFF!
      Another thought is to use 2-3 different colors/fabrics that harmonize with each other &
      that will bring a pop of color & texture to your space.

    • @teresacarle294

      😊If using another divider, you could add cup hooks. Use 'em to support the tiny dowels for the necklaces. Glue on a button, flat dowel, or knob on the end. Something wide enough to catch on the cup hook, & keep it steady. That way, the dowel won't just slide off if it is tugged, but you can still take the dowel out if you desire.
      🤔Another idea: Earring or Pin Display. Source a thrifted or dollar store frame large enough to fit your panel. 4 Hooks: 2 cup hooks on panel & 2 tiny hooks on frame. Staple burlap (or other fabric) tightly on frame. Hook frame over divider hooks to hang. Easy Peasy.

    This is great if you have “leftover burlap” and “old wooden dowels” on hand and really love the diy of it all… but after buying the wood, burlap, stain, metal parts and wooden disks are you really saving anything? What have we hacked exactly?

    • @katyb2793
      @katyb2793 9 месяцев назад +2

      I think it depends. if you diy and build a lot of stuff you probably do already have dowels, stains, etc.
      the other side of it is the cheapest divider I can buy in Australia is $70. but it's made of a woven material or wicker, so it won't last well.
      this one could last for generations if you change the burlap if it gets damaged (or want to change the mood)
      also depends if you have time whether it's worth it or not.
