      @SirDucksLancelot I really know your content and respect all achievements... trust me... you are not anonymous for me... But in this challenge difficulty level is pretty clear and personally i do not like that... I saw same sort of things in civ 5, when people were creating so called challenges conditions, which gave them possibility to win within few turns... I do not buy it... SORRY. Personally I value much more win in extremely tough conditions in 300 turns, than win in 1 turn in artificially created environment.

      @SirDucksLancelot  Год назад +6

      @@sebastianz3911 Thanks! Yeah that’s understandable, especially in games where people are striving for a victory condition, but this game I’m not really trying to win at all, just trying to create a certain extreme situation. So I kinda think of difficulty as irrelevant. The only way it would make this harder is getting certain great people and wonders (although I still think it would be possible to get the ones I needed even on Deity, just more annoying). But no worries if that’s not your thing!

    The reason why the AI has no diplo favor late game is because you keep running co2 recapture projects, which causes their co2 production to be higher than yours which gives them carbon emission penalties. the funny part is it'll still hit them even if they have 0 co2 production because you're in the negatives.

    The only nitpicky thing I could see was you missed so many extra envoys at the game start by using Charismatic Leader at the start of the game. You met over a dozen city states in the first 100 turns - Charismatic Leader gave you about 1 envoy during that time and you could have gotten over a dozen free extra envoys then. I picked this tip up from Ursa Ryan. (Edit for tip credit)
    Also you were burning carbon by placing railroads, they burn 2 coal per tile. An update (can't remember which) a long time ago made all coal consumed contribute to climate change.

    • @SirDucksLancelot
      @SirDucksLancelot  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the comment! There are a couple issues with that. The charismatic leader card can only be run after tier 1 government (so around t50-55), while I met 16 city states much earlier. If I delayed meeting, for example, the 8 red city states by an extra 20-30 turns, then that’s 160-240 missed production toward settlers which would be a massive loss for a tiny benefit only felt much later on. That’s why it’s important to think of Civ mathematically rather than just based on isolated mechanics.
      And yes, you’re right about the coal!

    • @SirDucksLancelot
      @SirDucksLancelot  Год назад

      Good idea, yes me, Gumball, and Platypus discussed that when we were planning the challenge… Australia or Scotland probably have the best overall production potential (not limiting just to cities with IZs in range like here). It would probably involve settling the entire map (for much higher trade route capacity) with island cities 3 tiles apart and doing internal trade routes to every city, then doing a liberation at the end. Someone also mentioned having 24 versions of Mexico City on the map so that factories and power plants have almost unlimited range (seems kinda cheesy but cool lol). I’m not sure I have the patience/desire for a setup like that but that would probably be the way to truly maximize production.
