This video has so many views not because of clickbait, high sub count, or any other gimmick. It’s purely your personality and genuinely fantastic content. keep it up man :)
Honestly I've never even known that Risk had a broad community like this but damn I'm glad that one of my favourite board games does. Glad to see this come across my feed and now a new subscriber. Keep up the good content sir.
The community started growing around 2018 or whenever this particular risk was made. All the other risk games (to include console) failed to build such a community, this ine has seen great success though
I've only really played risk a few dozen times a good year or two ago, and this randomly came onto my timeline and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing. Extremely wholesome too!
No idea how this wound up being recommended, but this was a fun game to watch and the man playing seemed genuinely happy to be entertaining to his audience. It was fun seeing how hyped he was getting for getting over 100 viewers. Have to wonder how he feels with a youtube video with nearly 800k views.
Normally when random stuff like this comes across the feed i just ignore it. But I'm so glad i checked this out. You did a great job explaining, Informing and entertaining me through the entire thing. Didn't feel anywhere close to an hour and a half. Brought me back to the fun times playing this game with friends. Now time to go watch the rest of the tournament. Ill stop by your twitch chat too!
Not that much to explain. Having sunk a lot of time into this game its basically always the same: guys hoard up troops until 1 guy makes a move that slightly annoys another who then suddenly suicides all his troops allowing the lucky guy to win.
I have no idea why RUclips recommended this to me, but an hour and a half later I'm so glad they did! I don't think Ive ever watched a whole video like this on my phone without multi tasking, very cool video sir.
Watched the whole thing and brought me back to my childhood playing Risk with my Dad and Grandfather as a kid. Very well played my man PATIENCE was key here!
I'm amazed how entertaining this was. I remember the epic Risk games when I was a kid and my dad's stories about playing with his brother. They played world domination games that would literally last for days! Also, love your positive personality and vibes.
I was so wrapped up the whole time. And when you won at the end I started screaming with joy. It was awesome to watch your patience and strategy pay off in the end. So rewarding to see it. Awesome game man.
You are someone who is so easy to root for to win these events. I usually root for the underdog, and you are one of the best around. Still, your positive attitude and honesty really makes rooting for you a no brainer for me. Keep it going!
I love that like everyone else I found you through the algorithm. I love strategy games, and I appreciate a good strategist that talks through his strategy as he’s playing and executes very good moves. Earned a sub!

Randomly got recommended this by youtube. Super interesting to watch. You're doing a good job of talking through the thought process and still interacting with chat whenever possible. If I may offer some constructive criticism however I'd recommend turning down the sound of your notifications a bit and moving them so they don't cover your face, and as a result your reaction to the notification itself. Looking forward to more of this.
I love this guy! I love his demeanor and his excitement about ~50 people watching the stream! Now I want to learn more about advanced risk strategies because what everyone did goes against what my intuition is and these guys are the best so their strats are probably the ones to look at.
Keep streaming you will definitely get a much bigger audience if you keep doing stuff like this. I was just intending to skip through and get an idea of what was going on but ended up watching the full length. Great content and keep it coming!
I felt the same way, “oh Competitive Risk? That's weird.” “Woah this guy is extremely passionate.” “Holy shit this is so wholesome, he put a lot of work into.” “Woah that was a quick hour and a half.”
I've played Risk once in my life and the game lasted 8+ hours and ended with us deciding it wasn't worth continuing since it was 6AM and we were tired. Never seen it played other than that, but I can say that the game plays better virtually with a time limit, that's for sure haha. Great video, love your energy.
Never played a game of risk in my entire life, was super lost watching this. But on the flip side as a big total war player I love seeing the strategic and tactical choices going through your head, something I relate to very much when playing TW. Watched the whole thing, makes me wanna learn more about the game.
I didnt know about this game until a few days ago when i watched some streamers play. But it felt very amateurish. Now i know what pro level play is like. Thanks and keep doing you brother
Had he waited any more turns and let them hit him a bit more he could’ve consolidated his entire positron in south and North America and crushed everyone
I have never heard of Risk until now, and weirdly i was drawn in by your elaborate commentary and gameplay even though i had no idea what was happening
Just came here from watching an old Jerma VOD of him and a couple other streamers playing this game and I thought it was super neat + I felt a bunch of nostalgia for the original game. Glad to see that risk is still getting all of the love, support, and dedication from the community it deserves. Thank you to everyone in this community for keeping an old classic alive.
It's so cool to see the creator is still hearting and replying to comments. Risk is something we always made up rules for with my friends so seeing how it's supposed to be played is such a different learning experience. Thanks for the upload, I loved it.
I love how humble he was about getting roughly 30 viewers at the start and now this video has millions of views. I have never played or watched Risk be played until now. I was always fascinated by it though as a kid because we had the board game but every time I asked if we could play I was told no it takes too long.
I'm so blessed to have met with the success I have on yt. This version of risk is nice and quick. There are a lot of settings than can be finished in 20 minutes.
I haven't played Risk since I was a kid, but watching high level play for the first time I can't help but think the game should be titled Risk Averse. Congrats on the win though, I never knew it was played like this!
At first I wasn't sure. But dammit you're just so genuine that I can help but appreciate your love for this game. It's what's its all about. Have a passion and be open and friendly to share that passion so maybe it becomes someone else's.
That's a very nice thing to say. It's strange to me that everyone isn't geniune. After all its more work to be someone else than it is to just be yourself.
So happy I came across this channel! I started playing risk almost 50 years ago as a small child, & it evolved into a passion in my early teens, when my best, his family & I got into games that lasted weeks & had to be tracked on paper as the army sizes got so big. Unfortunately I moved away from that area & family 44 yrs ago & never found anyone else that appreciated the game & never really played again. Had no idea this was now an online game. I’m so curious about it. I barely remember the game tbh. I can’t wait to watch a master & re-learn what I’ve forgotten! Obviously liked & sub’d!

This video has so many views not because of clickbait, high sub count, or any other gimmick. It’s purely your personality and genuinely fantastic content. keep it up man :)
🙏 thank you for the kind words. I'm grateful so many have been enjoying my work.
Honestly I've never even known that Risk had a broad community like this but damn I'm glad that one of my favourite board games does. Glad to see this come across my feed and now a new subscriber. Keep up the good content sir.
Get on the discord and join us!
So broad, in fact, that they had to pull a bot in for a world championship match.
Nah, I'm just teasing. Great video.
So glad you did!
No idea how this wound up being recommended, but this was a fun game to watch and the man playing seemed genuinely happy to be entertaining to his audience. It was fun seeing how hyped he was getting for getting over 100 viewers. Have to wonder how he feels with a youtube video with nearly 800k views.
I can't believe how crazy this one has gone!
The numbers kind of blow my mind.
@@TheKillPeteStrategy you've been blessed by the algorithm. Everyone praise the 1 and 0
1.2 million now
1.7 mil now. Congrats man
@@TheKillPeteStrategy Well deserved, thanks for the entertainment :D
@@MiguelHades you having a stroke there buddy?
@@AfroMyrdal Holy crap that was all in my pocket lol sorry
@@MiguelHades no worries man 😂
Thank you for the 1 and 30 minutes at work where I became deeply invested in Competitive Risk for the first time.
Now let's see how deep the rabbit hole goes!
Thank you!
When playing the old school board game, we referred to taking a territory for a card and leaving 1 troop as 'friendly aggression'.
I was so wrapped up the whole time. And when you won at the end I started screaming with joy. It was awesome to watch your patience and strategy pay off in the end. So rewarding to see it. Awesome game man.
Thanks! It was a great start to that tournament run!
You are someone who is so easy to root for to win these events. I usually root for the underdog, and you are one of the best around. Still, your positive attitude and honesty really makes rooting for you a no brainer for me. Keep it going!
🙏
I love that like everyone else I found you through the algorithm. I love strategy games, and I appreciate a good strategist that talks through his strategy as he’s playing and executes very good moves. Earned a sub!
I must admit that i hate playing Risk with a burning passion. Never would have thought that watching others play (quite competently i might add) is rather enjoyable. Thanks for the entertainment and keep up the good work!
100%
22:50 is absolutely hilarious to me. Pete's passion for this game is infectious. Instant Sub, excited to see more

@@TheKillPeteStrategy I used to play Risk with my housemates everyday after work on the xbox and it was an absolute blast. I downloaded Risk last night and joined the discord, can't wait to get my friends involved. We all live in different countries now so this is perfect for us. thanks Pete
Man, I knew absolutely nothing about Risk before this… now I feel like a professional. Great video, very entertaining. Especially loved how you let black get more points because they helped you earlier in the game 😌
Thanks man! I'm glad you liked it
All the support possible Pete! I'm so happy that you are managing to pull those numbers and get attention, for the chill streams, top tier gameplay and everything including. Imma just get my "been here before he got famous" card and wish you all the best in life and every aspect of it!
So many kind words.
It means a lot.
Fame is a tricky notion to fathom. I've been paying attention to the product. I really want to make this video work the best it can possibly be.
If more people enjoy it that makes it all the more worthwhile.
I like how he was excited to have 40+ viewers during the live stream. Now hes almost at 1 mill on RUclips.
36:00 I appreciate the "there's nothing I can do about that" during the drum kicks and the stare LMAO i felt that
You and this series got me into risk and now I can't stop coming back to these awesome championship videos, cheers!
I don’t even fully understand this game and I’m locked in and have watched this entire video just off of this guys energy. Great job by you Pete.
8 months after posting the video and he is still replying to comments, that’s dedication. Congratulations on your win!
I love connecting with people!
I don't think I've ever seen anyone so genuinely happy about their viewers! So happy to see the success!
Never really played risk, never heard of you, didn’t know there were tournaments in risk. Watched every single minute anyway and somehow ended up loving it
Welcome to the channel!
I'll second turning down the notification volume. It's really jarring compared to the generally quiet atmosphere on stream.
Man do I wish there was a way to go back in time eight months and head the 100's of people off with the same request.
I third this.
It's amazing to see RUclips pushing people with such a passion for their craft. Keep it up my man!
I had no idea you could play risk online but I'm here for it. I'm gonna sign up asap.
I love this guy! I love his demeanor and his excitement about ~50 people watching the stream! Now I want to learn more about advanced risk strategies because what everyone did goes against what my intuition is and these guys are the best so their strats are probably the ones to look at.
Thanks! There's more to it than meets the eye
Keep streaming you will definitely get a much bigger audience if you keep doing stuff like this. I was just intending to skip through and get an idea of what was going on but ended up watching the full length. Great content and keep it coming!
😻
Is that you, Reg?!
I'm glad!
I didnt know about this game until a few days ago when i watched some streamers play. But it felt very amateurish. Now i know what pro level play is like. Thanks and keep doing you brother
A lot of people think that way at first!
Black player got the 2nd place straight outta diplomacy! Great game, congrats on the result
Thank you. I'm very happy with it.
Working with me is usually better than working against me ;)
Had he waited any more turns and let them hit him a bit more he could’ve consolidated his entire positron in south and North America and crushed everyone
@@kittenconsumer9960 black had no access to North America due to the blizzards
And this Ladies and Gentlemen is how you entertain your audience with wholesome content and great commentary! Well Played🤝
Glad you enjoy it!
I have never heard of Risk until now, and weirdly i was drawn in by your elaborate commentary and gameplay even though i had no idea what was happening
So glad you liked it. There is lots to learn if you stick around.
Its such an honour to be able to help bring risk into its destiny. Happy to help reignite the nostalgia.
It's so cool to see the creator is still hearting and replying to comments. Risk is something we always made up rules for with my friends so seeing how it's supposed to be played is such a different learning experience. Thanks for the upload, I loved it.
I wouldn't presume to tell you how it's supposed to be played 😉 only how it is played.
I had no idea that there was a competitive Risk scene, but holy cow am I glad that there is. Even knowing this exists makes me feel happy inside.
White got a 30% win rate
This definitely deserved the recommended page, and the fact you are reading EVERY comment proves that, wishing you more success.
🙏
I love how humble he was about getting roughly 30 viewers at the start and now this video has millions of views. I have never played or watched Risk be played until now. I was always fascinated by it though as a kid because we had the board game but every time I asked if we could play I was told no it takes too long.
I'm so blessed to have met with the success I have on yt. This version of risk is nice and quick. There are a lot of settings than can be finished in 20 minutes.
@@TheKillPeteStrategy I was happy to watch this 1hr + video :)
Was a Risk board game junky as a kid. This brought me back. Thanks for this
🙏
I haven't played Risk since I was a kid, but watching high level play for the first time I can't help but think the game should be titled Risk Averse.
Congrats on the win though, I never knew it was played like this!
I like the pun Sir!
Wow. I love playing risk, but seeing the strategy in this was mind boggling. The tiniest moves at the biggest impacts, good job on getting the win
I know this game a long time ago, but you're the reason that now I want to play it. You're so nice and your playing is amazing, love it
Ended up watching the whole video! The twists and turns of the game plus your commentary and skill made it very engaging from start to end.

I'm so happy RUclips recommended this to me! I've loved Risk for the past 10 years but never had anyone to play it with.

A game about patience, never attack the big numbers and let the others attack those. The one who has the most time on it's hands wins the game
I used to play risk a little while ago but I really didn't understand strategy and such so I stopped playing, but this random video in my recommended that I thought I'd watch for a second ended up bringing me back into the world of risk! The way you explain things and show your thought process in a way to players that aren't competitive makes me wonder how you have such a small following, keep it up!
