The greatest guitarist and musician Canada ever produced.
I would put Pat Travers as another guitarist that is a top 3 Canadian player in history .those to are forsure cemented at the top two and the 3 well that's a little bit harder to declare whether if it's Alex from Rush or Rick from Triumph or one of a number of others that's a suitable candidate .but Travers and Marino are most definitely the top two and both were legendary and Guitar GODS .and as for these pedals .they were something in the 70s and early 80s that were almost a staple of all you great players as far as their unique signature sound .Take Rhoads whether it was in 77-79 in all those live shows at the local LA clubs or while on tours with Ozzy .or used in the studio recordings of those two Ozzys Masterpieces .his pedal board was his big thing just like Frank's and Pat Travers .those guys really created their sounds from those pedals more so than the amps and guitars .think Eddie went more in the guitar and amps direction to create his .hey back then that was so common .I remember one of my neighbors and good friends that played in garage bands than in local Orlando clubs was the same way he had his flanger .mxr yellow distortion and chorus pedals along with his crybaby foot whammy pedal and had them all on a very nice hand crafted wood board and all painted up nice .he lived by these gadgets to create his tone .
💥 ⚡ You got that right ! 🎸⚡💥
I think Mahogany Rush is one of the best things out of Canada ever
So happy to hear your voice Frank!!❤️
Frank Marino is one of the best guitarists in rock history. He's a legend. He's the reason why I just bought my '61 SG with Maestro vibrola. Great to hear about his pedals. I love his recently released DVD (I mean what I've seen on RUclips). His spiritual points of view are very interesting and positive as well. Thanks for this interview. He should be in the R&R hall of fame.
Yes. Best bluesy Rock melodic guitar I’m a king bee baby live has more melodic. Rock runs than most bands entire collection s
I was carrying franks 2 SG’s from stage to dressing room after a gig and just as I was entering the dressing room, Frank said please do not let the head stocks bump each other, just as he said that the two head stocks gently bumped together. I said next time don’t say anything. We both laughed, so many excellent memories from touring with Frank.
The HoF is a joke
The most underrated guitarist around the guy is a legend...😎🔥🔥🎸🎸🎸🤩🙌
some of the best in the business rate him highly who cares what the polls say!
Frank is like a neighbor when you meet up with him, easiest guy in the world to talk with, very aware clear headed.. ❤ 💯🎸🔥☝️🤩
Yes absolutely!!! I got to meet him twice in the past... What a great guy!!! Down to earth and genuine and would have let me stay and talk to him as long as I wanted but my girl friend at the time was not as big a fan and wanted to leave lol. His brother Vince was there at the time and was super cool as well.
I can attest to this...met him several times after shows...the guy is like a close friend, I miss him and pray he gets better. God Bless Frank!
A guitar legend and a great human being.🔥
@@jaminjimlpVince is a playa too 👊🏻
God bless Frank Marino and best of luck with his new endeavor! Good to hear from him and hope to see him again on stage in the future.
Glad to know Frank and to hear from him!
I hope Frank Marino makes some new music in 2023.
I met Frank Marino and his family (Wife & 3 Daughters) after his 2nd come back show in the USA in Cleveland, Ohio on July 26th 2000, i had been at the concert the night before in Detroit (His 1st gig in 7 years), but we didn't met till after the Cleveland concert the next night.
Not sure what i did to deserve Frank's trust/loyalty, but a bond was quickly formed than and there and his Wife, Denise gave me a speical pass and told me to wear it as a VIP at any and all future Mahogany Rush shows. So after that i saw Frank another 18 + times as his guest (2001 - 2010) and spent many, many hours with him and his family before and after shows on the tour bus, and out to eat with them at Denny's every night after each show.
hello Michael i was right there in the front row with you in Cleveland seems like yesterday. we are still here and hoping for more new Frank music and tour dates.
Frank sounds very frail and tired in this interview, I'm overjoyed he has made a public appearance like this but he doesn't sound as chatty and talkative as he normally is. I won't speculate what is going on as far as his illness but he isn't as peppy as he normally is in this interview. That said, super glad he is doing boutique petals and active now. Lets hope he is happy and his health is improving that's all that matters, he owes us nothing in the end. Love this dude and his music so much !!!
Frank a Guitar hero indeed... ,\,,/
We will support whatever Frank wants to do.
Frank I know you have only so much time to build your pedals. I am predicting you are going to be swamped with orders. So many of your fans would love to be able to have the Frank Marino sound!
Good hearing from you Frank. You have such a Positive Mindset. Nothing but a Healthy, Happy, and Properous Future for Yourself going forward. Also really enjoy your Live at the Agora, [signed by you]. Keep on Rockin'!!
It's great hearing your voice again Frank! Keep healing. God Bless you and your family
Frank Marino is magnificent
Port Vale 81
World Anthem ✌
Of all the players from the Hendrix school, Stevie Ray Vaghn, Robin Trower, Randy Hansen, et al ... To me Frank authentically captures the vibe of Axis: Bold as Love or Electric Ladyland. But he goes beyond that. When he plays rock he follows the Johnny Winter school .. when he plays jazz, he follows the Miles Davis school. What a great and gifted musician. I hope he tours again ❤
Frank's tone is unmatched. I'm glad he's releasing a pedal line!
Frank we Love ya and miss you ❤
I cranked Frank throughout the 70's and saw him at the DOTG #3 in '79 and have never left his music. I had tickets to see him in Cincinatti in 2020 but Covid hit and then he stopped touring. I was bummed, but I really wanted him to get better and if it works out down the road, I'll see him again. I hope to be able to afford one of his pedals.
My favorite guitar player. This is the first I heard anything on Frank since the announcement of no more touring .
I’m so glad to hear this interview. 🙏
I fell in love with Frank's music / guitar playing in 1978...Bought a 72 Gibson SG, seen him live 5 times, met him once backstage, and I cry like a baby when I watch / listen to him play...Soulful and so very Beautiful!
I hope to someday play through one of Frank's custom pedals.
God Bless and many prayers for you and your family, Frank
Count me in on a pedal Frank.
Appreciate the news guys. Frank has been on my mind and hearing him is great news. I had a chance to spend a few moments and chat with Frank here in San Antonio almost 20 years back at a show. Just a great personable dude!
Frank is a genius in so many ways. His stance of the vaccine is testament to this. I congratulate him.
What was his stance on the vaccine ?
I was lucky to see Frank on a big line up at the time Ted nugent journey Eddie money. In the magazine s radio. Frank was least known at the time 90 percent of the crowd probably came to see another band. But when Frank played. 90 precent of the crowd . Was won over locked on to franks Jams everybody just sat still. Focused on Frank playing I knew in 10 minutes. This was greatest guitarist. Alive . It was super melodic fast beautiful runs . It was cool to see big names of Rock at the time but Frank was in his prime playing fast but it was so musical and melodic . I’m a king bee baby live. If they could get that on the radio. People. Would love it today
Very cool same lineup as that texas show I hear about they were saying Frank came out in leather @100+°
Can't wait to buy a pedal 1.
SUCH a lovely guy !
So Awesome to hear Frank didn't fall for the Baloney 19 Koolaid. Tonnes more respect for that. Happy to hear!
I first heard Frank in 1972 and saw Funkadelic open for him at Man and His World 1974 outdoors. Saw him open for Rory Gallagher at Massey Hall Sept. 1975 and other concerts including the Chaud in Hull. One of the greatest guitarists in history and always #growing.
Vinyl - a statistic came out recently via SWSW that in spite of all the LP/Vinyl sales last year, less than half of the buyers actually own turntables. Astounding.
I LOVE THIS INTERVIEW AND AS ALWAYS & FOREVER GOD LOVES YOU & I LOVE YOU FRANK MARINO
Very! Cool ! I knew you didn't give up Frank 😊 that word is Not in your vocabulary!
I would be honored to be the first bass player with pedal 1.
Your music has always been a huge inspiration to me . And that's coming from a bass player.
One of the best showmen and one of the hardest working Man in Rock! I was wondering when he was gonna do something with pedals, he always tweeked all his.
I am and have enjoyed this man's amazing talent since the early 70s---especiallya song called FINISH LINE---seen em 5 times. Wish could see him again
Wonderful to hear from Frank and that he got a lot hes doing and positive vibes are flowing!! Hes truly one of the best of the best! Thanks for the interview!!
I am such a big fan of Frank Marino. I hope ihe s ok,
God bless and respects to you and your viewers. I saw Frank in the early 80s in England. But i have always been fascinated by Frank, his tone technique. Very knowledgeable and sincere.
God Bless Frank Marino
I love Frank !!! Lucky enough to have seen him in the 80s 90s n 2000s
I was beside him at a phone booth circa dbbl live, wish I had something signed !!!!!
Frank was a true innovator before the vai's and the satriani's Frank could astound you and I've heard people say (and myself) that some of the loudest shows they've heard 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Thanks for the interview fellas.
Good luck with your new endeavor Frank.
Great show!! Loving listening to Frank.,
Much respect.
Frank is proof that one can be an adult and a musician/rock star..Thank s for everything you do Frank...thank s for the interview.
I seen frank in Chicago in the 70,s and it knock me out, then I got a LP with land of a thousand nights and wow,, i was hooked, great sound, and i don,t have tons of money but i would love to have even one of them pedals, FRANK AND HENDRIX made me pick up the guitar.
I Remember along time ago reading about him making his own preamp and sent him a message on an email several years ago about making it available to folks... So I am glad to hear this news. I think he should talk to Josh Scott of JHS and maybe get some help or some pointers on production like getting micro components and getting the boards made with the smaller components all ready installed and the tone is not effected but the final product is much quieter noise wise then all he would need to do is assemble them and connect the jacks and such. Thus making his ability to produce a lot more sooner.
I’ll buy them!
Nice job dudes! Frank Love you brother. You sound great! Yoooo always a make a me raff! And riff… Fish
I'll buy all three.
Listen to the album that had “Thru The Milky Way” from The Child of The Novelty which so smooth and raw at the same time . Killer riffs .
🆒 Great Guy Frank 🎶🎶🎶🆒
I've seen pictures of frank playing in the old days with those Tel-Ray Morley pedals, I know I've seen the rotary tel-ray on his massive board, I used to use those pedals, they were the best in my opinion, but they are just too big to take to gigs, for me at least.
Frank, in the name of Jesus Christ I send prayers. You have a gift from God and we appreciate you sharing your gift, brother. Amen.🙏🏼🇺🇸🎸🎤
Frank Marino - One of the greatest rock guitarists in this Strange Universe...
The Juggernaut is a surreal Fuzz pedal. The Dragonfly is the most impeccable overdrive/distortion pedal, whether you go into a clean amp or an already dirty amp.
The Dragonfly when pushed almost reacts like a cranked Plexi. The tone of these are pure Frank. If you can recognize his sound, you will hear it in these pedals. You won't sound like his playing, but the tone is there! Yes you can use these two or all 3 into a clean Fender amp and get great tones. If you like Frank's type of sound.
I use them to further sculpt and drive my exquisite sounding Germino Lead 55's. But if I had got a call to show up out of the blue and there is backline. I bring these two and can dial in great sounds.
Upper mid harmonics are sick on both of these. If you use low output pickups the better, but you will find these as pedals worth having.
Heck, Frank solders them and signs them...that's worth the expense. But I would say these are the best Fuzz and overdrive pedals I have ever tried. Totally surreal how grand these sound.
How did you get them?
Very interested in your pedals!...
Hello!!
Post up the names of the pedals, when they are available.
Frank said he may work with uli jon roth someday! And uli said it's a possibility! Holy cow ! Now that would trip triangles/*
What interview with Frank were you referring to when frank asked you how you heard about the pedals?
Is there a link to Frank's pedals? Thank you
Before there was Van Vai Satriani Stevie Ray Slash and so on There Was Frank. NO 1 comes even remotely close..
Frank Marino And Mahoney Rush was one of the Acts that played along with Aerosmith and Ted Nugent at my first Rock concert at a festival in 1979 in Orlando Florida's Tangerine Bowl .was unbelievable and something I'll aways remember as my induction into live Rock and Roll. His Black Live Album was legendary and one of the greatest live recordings of all time him and Pat Travers was 2 of my all time favorite guitarist also
🎉😂
Just ordered a Juggernaut.😇
Get Vince Marino back in the band!
Before the internet who remembers the rumor about Frank Marino - No it was not bad or anything
I'm guessing the names of these pedals will be: 1. Free 2. Buddy n 3. Ditch queen
You realize this was a joke!
Bet JHS would be interested
What is the matter with Frank, health-wise?
Juggernaut is one of my top 10 Hard Rock album of all time. It has only one mediocre song on it. The rest is amazing.
@Johan. Whats the mediocre track in question. I dont see one.BUT my least go to track would be probably Ditch Queen. The cover of For your live is outstanding. Can't fault any other track
For your LOVE
@@groovedohg For your love is the average one for me. Not bad, but a light weight in the song writing department compared to the rest around it on this album.
@Johan Wuyckens lol. That was the only track from Juggernaut that wasn't written by Frank. I actually love every cover version that Frank does, although the Hendrix covers are very similar to the originals. For your Love had Frank's take on it and hands down blows away any other cover version of this song
@@groovedohgIt's subjective after all. In the end we both hold the album in such high regard that discussing the enjoyment of one single track on it is kinda silly. It's still a 10/10 to me. :-)
What is the illness? I never heard them tell us what is actually going on with his health.
I don't think Frank has gone public with the details of his illness.
"Sadly With Frank Marino illness which is a case of adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) and other health problems has caused the end of live shows with Frank and Mahogany Rush."
@@TommyLent The only statement out of Frank's camp is it's NOT frozen shoulder. This rumour has more legs than the whole Hendrix reincarnation thing. Repetitive motion during the editing of the DVD gave him the frozen shoulder which has since healed. His lips remain sealed as to what the illness actually is.
It's none of anyone's business.
