Is it okay for a Christian who isn't Catholic to burn incense? For some reason I have always enjoyed burning incense from time to time. I have gone years without burning it and then every so often I'll take it back up. I have a little German smoker It's a wooden decoration that I put a little cone into and I just do that for no particular reason other than I find it soothing. Then I found a smokeless incense burner that you put a candle under and I started to burn real resin real Frankenstein. The smokeless incense burner does create some smoke cuz the resin gets hot enough to melt and burn a little. And I don't do it in a spiritual sense I just do it because I find it comforting. I like the smell of the frankincense in the house my family does not care for it so I tend to do it by myself when I'm home or if I'm outside sometimes if I have some free time occasionally. I don't tell people about it because I feel like there is a stigma. I'm not Catholic I feel like there's a social stigma. I meant I'm not into alternative medicines or anything like that. I'm not looking at it to cleanse my area as I think that's evil you can't use evil to cleanse out evil. I don't look at incense as having some kind of house cleansing spiritual power. I do think it has biblical significance of course. And I do think it has medicinal properties. I guess my big question in my mind is is it appropriate for Born again Christians to burn incense or does it have to be specifically frankincense or myrrh does burning you know little cones that you get from the grocery store is that considered something inappropriate for a Christian to do? Again I do it usually when I'm alone and I just enjoy the smoke I don't try to breathe it in or anything it's just kind of in the area it makes me feel comforted and that's the only reason for nothing else.
Shalom we believe burning incense of any form is fine as long as we are not sinning (breaking The Torah aka Law). However with that said not all incense is equal, if it is not natural you will most probably be harming your body. Secondly, and maybe the most important aspect is we personally burn Frankincense and Myrrh because our main intent for burning incense is to please The King and we know He loves these scents. This is important to us because if He is pleased with our environment that can only mean good things for our household in every aspect of our lives. This does not mean burning incense for our own pleasure is wrong in any way, it is just less effective in bringing about change in our experience of life. Actually it s a link to Hatshepsut. The trade routes for frank and myrrh she was famous for. And used in embalming * but the church comes and takes over the knowledge.
Lol uh no. Egyptians didn't invent everything spiritual. All nations used these things differently. Fortunately, Israel used them for holiness and was able to communicate with God, unlike the heathens around them that used these things for their own gratification
Shalom, it is our belief that all mankind came from one beginning and therefore share a common source of knowledge, however with that said in my limited study I have not found a source of information that can compare with the Hebrew Biblical text where we see corelating information given on a subject in the format of the texts narrative, word root structures, pictographic meaning and mathematics. The above makes my believe that the Hebrew Biblical texts are the texts that link us back to the true source of creation aka YHVH. @Ancient Biblical Oils I have yet to hear from any of the Egyptologists an answer to the fact that the Genesis 3:15 prophecy of the Messiah and Gospel in the names of the Patriarchs date to around 900 years prior to the Egyptian creation myths. You know how people claim Christ is a copy of Horus? Well the Egyptian creation myths date to around 3100BC whereas the account of Genesis 3:15 from the garden of Eden and the Gospel in the names of the patriarchs both date to about 4000BC. These patriarchs had knowledge of God beginning with Adam and there are many things they were instructed of by God that didn't necessarily make it into the scripture we have today. Not only the patriarchs had knowledge of God, but knowledge spread just like the fame of God who struck Egypt with plagues spread all over.
I’m not a biblical scholar by any stretch of the imagination, but I do have a theory with regards to the gift that Jesus was given as a child if you look at them as gifts, that’s one way of looking at them, but if you look at them as a scholarship, where we would college scholarship. He was given gold, which is a resource to travel with and medicines like frankincense and Merritt. Was these Wiseman coming to Jesus, and saying you know, Ed at some point in your life when you’re an older older child come to our school or come to our city or come to our culture and we will teach you these things and that is my belief I think if we can find out where Jesus went where I think if we can find out where the wisemen came from we can find out where Jesus went during those missing years from about 15th about 30
As the Jewish Messiah, he's not allowed to miss any of the 3 mandatory feasts, which is why when he went down to Egypt as a child, he returned before the next feast; thus, he was in Israel for most of his life.

Moses burned incense.... I believe it truly depends on what you burn and do you give it all to Christ?
