    Thank you so much. That was very helpful. I agree about taking away the music though. It is very distracting while trying to listen.

    The gold also funded their escape into Egypt. God always makes provisions.

    I think that a more accurate quotation to show that our Lord was offered to drink wine and myrrh is Mark 15:23 and not Matthew. This is important because Mark's account describes that Jesus rejected the beverage, accepting all the implied suffering

    • @deanfry879
      @deanfry879 9 месяцев назад

      Both passages are the Word of God, but that does not mean Mark and Matthew were inspired to emphasize the same things. Consider the decree sent out by Ceasar. All of Joseph's living relatives would also have had to make the same trip, so there may have been a significant number of people in the stable that night; not to mention how soon the inn was full and how many people came after Joseph and Mary. But none of those people, however many existed, add to the story that needed to be told about that night.
      I have compared the different Gospel accounts for the best stating of an encouragement I wish to give, but I cannot say GotQuestions did not do the same for a reason much like Matthew's.

    Good video 👍. Hear is a hard question. How did the Magi know that the star was the one that led to to Christ? I believe that there is some knowledge and mysteries that are lost.

    • @deanfry879
      @deanfry879 10 месяцев назад +2

      The best guess at that would be they can trace their knowledge to Daniel, but if we were intended to have definitive proof, it would have discoverd by now. But maybe yet; I will guess those answers are in Persia which is not open to investigation right now. Considering how the knowledge we still do have has been treated, maybe it is better if the lost knowledge stays lost. If we need to know it, it will come at the right time.

      They are not lost. The Zoroastrians know. I will share it with you now.
      The Zoroastrians had a prediction that three Saoshyants or messiahs would appear over time. One of them was predicted to appear in a land foreign to their own (Iran). He would be born from a virgin and would be a great sage and healer. The elites would turn against him and he would be crucified on a tree.
      The Zoroastrians priests are called Magi. They were astrologers. In 5 BC they observed a comet appearing in the Zodiac sign of Aries. This comet is attested to in Chinese records. Aries is traditionally the sign of Israel and the Jewish people. So they concluded the messiah had appeared among the Jews.
      They traveled to Israel and met Herod, asking him what town their messiah was supposed to be born in. Micah 5.2 says Bethlehem so that is where they went. They inquired after any recently born children. I suspect they asked which of the children was born of a virgin.
      They gave Jesus three gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrh. These represent the Zoroastrian principles of good thoughts, good words and good deeds.
      Some traditions hold that Mary gave them one of Jesus's blankets as a gift in return, which they treasured.
      This site will block the link but if you want more info search online for an angel fire article called "Jesus was a Zoroastrian".

    Correction please, they did not bow down to the BABY Lord Jesus. they were not at the birth.
    Luke tells us " and when they came into the HOUSE where the LITTLE CHILD was with His mother, (not baby in the manger) THEY PRESENTED HIM GIFTS..."
    THE MAGI FIRST SAW HIM WHEN HE WAS BETWEEN 1 1/2 TO 2 YEARS OLD.

    • @deanfry879
      @deanfry879 9 месяцев назад

      It depends on your definition of "baby", "toddler", and "child". I have heard women refer to "my babies" and those "babies" had children of their own. Since the terms are not defined in law, there is no correction needed.

    • @yeshuaneitheristheresalvat8018

      Sir, Lord Jesus (not me) in His word tells YOU that the Magi were not at the birth. That's His fact. NEITHER DID THEY BOW BEFORE THE BABY, NEITHER DID THEY SEE HIM IN A COW TROUGH. ONLY JOSEPH AND THE SHEPHERDS WERE THERE. Herod knew, as well as the Magi, as well as Miriam, that they bowed down in the HOUSE (BEFORE THE LITTLE CHILD) AND THE GREEK WORD (NOT MY DEFINITION) RULES OUT A BABY, (you can study it for yoursel it is very easy and also read it in Matrhew), AS WELL AS THE SPIRIT IF GODS WRITTEN TESTIMONY. THOSE THAT WORSHIP FATHER MOST DO SO IN spirit and TRUTH! WHEN HE WAS BETWEEN 1 1/2 TO 2 YEARS OLD FROM THE TIME THE MAGI ACCURATELY TOLD HEROD, WHEN THE STAR "FIRST" APPEARED". ALL THE "MALE" BOYS WERE SLAIN BY HEROD. THE POINT SIR IS THAT OUR GOD WILL HAVE US REPRESENT HIM AND HIS WORD CORRECTLY AND TO "STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED TO GOD, A WORKMEN THAT NEED NOT BE ASHAMED, RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH." SATAN USES SUBTLE LIES TO CORRUPT THE LORD AND HIS WAYS, and His word AND THAT HAS REACHED TO THE VERY FALSE GOSPELS THAT ABOUND. THE LOVE OF CHRIST CONSTRAINS ME. @@deanfry879

      @@yeshuaneitheristheresalvat8018 As I said, not everyone uses the Greek definintion of that day for "baby". No one here is arguing Jesus was less than a year old when the Magi came.

    Gold, frankincense and myrrh actually do show up together in one other place in scripture: Exodus 30. The LORD instructs Moses to make the altar for atonement sacrifices out of gold, and when a sacrifice was made, myrrh was to be used as a sacred anointing oil and frankincense was burned as incense for the LORD. All of these materials were sacred and meant to be used by the high priests in the tabernacle for atonement so that they could enter the LORD'S presence.
    The wise men bringing these three very specific things doesn't just show us that Jesus is a divine being, it shows us that Jesus IS the Messiah, the son of the one true God, and IS the LORD Himself, YHWH. The wise men recognized that, when entering the presence of an infant Jesus, they were entering the presence of the LORD.
    It also shows us now, in hindsight, that the cross was always the plan. Jesus, God Himself, was our perfect and final sacrifice, and His blood washes away the sins of everyone who calls upon His name. Just as a spotless lamb was sacrificed on a golden altar, Christ is our spotless Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. And the fact that these specific, sacred, sacrificial gifts were brought to the infant Jesus, clearly works as an early signpost pointing us to the cross.

    I don’t know… I am thinking that your explanation is close. I am thinking that the gold represents Jesus and our divinity (we are more than this body), the frankincense represents the Human experience with ups and downs, and the pain we go through as humans. The myrrh an invitation to detach either by death or by choice by going back to our divinity. A full circle.
    It is interesting that there were 3 gifts and not one, two or four, or five. 3 is a number usually represented by Catholics as the holy trinity… to me 3 means synergy ( one cannot create by itself, it the ethereal must become matter, splits into 2, just like the cells forming the human in the womb, one becomes 2 and 2 becomes 3 until infinity.
    In short: god becomes flesh (Jesus exampifies this, he even said: you are like gods, you can go this and more. We can all reach his level of enlighten by). God experiences life with all its ups and downs, pain and suffering, and then we let go, detach from this physical experience and repeat the cycle until infinity.
    Of course this is just my opinion, or another theory like everyone else.
    Each of us know the truth and we may not be able to put it into words because of it mystery….

    Idk about this. I think we try to symbolize alot of things done in the past because we so wrongly believe we have all the info. Or are way smarter than they were. (Obviously not).
    But rather. Frankencense and myrrh are EXTREMELY healing aids.
    Like rediculiusly so.
    I doubted the power of healing oils for years! But my wife continued on learning and using them. When in my own life, ive seen modern meds fail, the oils worked. And worked immediately.
    Frankencense alone works greatly for infection and healing wounds and much much more!
    If these men knew as much as it seems. Like this certain atar ment the birth of our savior. AND..... where exactly they could find him! They knew according to the prophesies that he would be born of very poor means. They brought EXACTLY ehat that family needed. Gold to eat and flea to egypt. And the frankincense and myrrh for marry and the baby.
    Thats just my 2 cents.
    We gota chsnge our presupisitions. They prevent us from seeing the truth.
    Its like we have amnesia of the past and its common knowledge.
