This shows how to link a Hyperdeck Studio to ANY ATEM for auto play back and How to use BitFocus Companion to select multiple videos
This Video came about to answer a question from the Facebook BlackMagic Design ATEM users Group.

Wonderful! Thank you for sharing ... good idea putting every video from the hyperdeck on a single button if the streamdeck!! Great!!!
Stoked to find some Black Magic tutorials. Keep it up as you upgrade.
Thanks for creating the video. I just bought a HD Studio Mini a couple of weeks ago. Figured out out a way to record from one of my cameras since there isnt a HDMI Input. Will have to look at companion and see about using it and remembering to exit the Streamdeck software.
Glad I could help!
thanks, i already have the stream deck, now i just have the get that hyper deck!
Great job bro!!!
Are you still in Jax?
Yes, same info. Hit me up
Nice & Thanks :)
Thank you!
I'm running into a weird problem where the footage can be seen on hyperdeck is recognized on atem software and is assigned to a button but it does not show in preview and does not play when switched on its just a black screen but I know it's recognized because the time code plays within the software the footage just doesn't show on screen
thanks, very helpful
Thanks! 😊
My hyperdeck does not connect with companion even though it shows up in the ATEM software, and the I/P address is the same as the HD television Studio HD... Any suggestions?
hyperdec is not found by software control, where I need to add IP from hyperdec on PC to connect it by ethernet cabel?
hey. not getting autoplay part. how did this happen. u switched and video played automatically
So you can’t just connect the Atem directly to the Hyperdeck with a short network cable to control it? I basically use my ATEM for Zoom via USB-C on a MacBook with WiFi. Nothing is hardwired to a local network. All I want is to be able to play the Hyperdeck by pressing a button on the ATEM, so nothing very sophisticated.
If yo Static IP both the ATEM and the Hyperdeck you might be able to get away with just using a network cable. I think on this set up I just used a network switch not a router.
Thanks. You were a big help. I achieved what you did but I can't get audio to playback? What am I doing wrong, do you think. For now, I just want to use hyperdeck as a playback, to playback videos I make--so again, I was able to make a quick time movie, hyperdeck sees it on the clips, it plays back, but it will not play audio? I am trying to have the audio play so on a zoom meeting or webinar, one can hear it. I see on the hyperdeck that the audio is there, and it shows on atem channel 4, but it doesn't push out audio. So confusing. Thanks for any advice.
What are you plugging the hyperdeck into? If its a blackmagic switcher make sure that audio is turned on.
Can you use a hyperdeck shuttle 2 like this with companion and a streamdeck?
Yes!
Thank you. How can you make that happen if the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 doesn’t have Ethernet? I know the record function has to pass through HDMI, so I really just want to playback videos through the Shuttle. Does Companion offer the control, and then you just have the Shuttle 2 come in through HDMI? In other words, I can record my videos as ProRes 4444, place them on Shuttle 2, hook it up to an HDMI port, and then Companion will be able to control the Shuttle2 for playback? Will I have to manually start the playback, or will it automatically roll video when I cut to it?
why not use ATEM software control, you can post all the video files there and then you can use only one controller ATEM mini
Videos brought into the media pool in the software need to be a series of stills and I have not been able to bring those into the media pool using a Mini or Mini Pro. What version of the ATEM are you using and do you have to put in specific file types or codecs?
@@redbearddoes1720
I use Atem mini pro. I haven't tried it but I thought it was the easiest way to do it
I got it to work on one of the ME level ATEM's but I haven't been able to do it on the lower level ones.
Nice video!! Besides Quicktime Apple ProRes 444 what other format does the Hyperdeck read the files in
Honestly that was the only one I found that worked.
Can hyper deck use sound?
hey great video, question does you gopro video/audio has a delay? i have a gopro hero 7 black but my the video /audio has a delay all other sources (cameras) work perfect except the gopro 7..... thank you
Disable the stabilisation effect in you'r gopro, it take a longtime delay to process this video you don't need , i use a goprohero 8 and hero3 and 3 blackmagic caméra with 2 Atem mini, one normal and one ISO. Its normaly just one frame of delay with all option off on the gopro, not very a big deal ! Take a look on our youtube channel for discovert our ATEM setup.
I can't make it work, I have tried apple prores 222 and 4444. detects all and play it, but it doesn't show, just black
I have the same problem :|
I solved this problem. The stupid thing was that I did not connect Hyperdeck to Atem with an HDMI cable. The Ethernet cable is only for control.
@@btetlak Mine was a faulty HDMI cable, I tried with a different one and voià
You seem so surprised that a device that is made to play and record video, does?
Can you use the hyperdeck to record the "feed" from the atem switcher?
If it has an HDMI input yes.
This records the program out and play videos at the same time…
I believe that the Hyperdeck will only Play or record not both at the same time.
Can you use the Hyperdeck to serve video files for your live on the Atem Mini AND record your live stream simultaneously?
Good Question! No. If you have a pro you can record with the USB C out, but you can not use One Hyperdeck to play one video file while recording the whole show. You would need 2 Hyperdecks, and maybe some converters
Hey there - came in here to search for a way to record to the Hyperdeck from my ATEM mini pro. Is this possible or am I looking for a different product? Basically looking for a hardware solution for recording my streams rather than OBS.
The Hyperdeck has SDI in and HDMI in.The ATEM mini has HDMI out. Am I missing something?
Hyperdeck Studio Mini only has SDI IN. It has both SDI and HDMI outputs, but only the one IN, So Darcy would need to get a HDMI to SDI converter to go from the MINI to the Hyperdeck Studio
@@redbearddoes1720 Is it possible that I have a newer one? Because I'm looking at the back and I have HDMI in and SDI in.
@@redbearddoes1720 Thank you for this.
Having trouble connecting the HyperDeck over IP in the Atem software, I have tried everything, any help please?
You type in the IP address into the ATEM Software, tell it what input it's going into and hit "Connect"?
Are you able to connect to it with other software?
If you have a StreamDeck try connecting that and see if you can send commands.
Are you connecting every thing through a Router or a network switch?
Are the IP's assigned automatically?
@@redbearddoes1720 thanks for the reply man! I figure it out through a friend, I needed to change the ip on the hyperdeck, it was using the same ip of the Atem.
