- In this video, I show how to download and connect the ATEM Software Control that is used with Blackmagic Design video switchers like the the ATEM Mini Pro. I go through where to download from the Blackmagic site as well as how to properly install and get you Atem to talk to the program.

Great tutorial, and thanks for your help. As a new user, if I had known how confusing this was, I would have saved my money and just stuck to editing videos. I have found this to be the worst and most confusing software ever. Just my opinion.

Can you do a tutorial on adding lower thirds: what software works, how to use downstream key (I think) - just how to do it especially for song lyrics in worship service. Right now I have my Mac as input 2 and a PTZ camera as 1. I have powerpoint up in the sanctuary using my Mac so I switch from the camera to the Mac to share lyrics in livestream but would love to do lower thirds but am clueless!

Kennis, is it possible to run ATEM control software and simultaneously stream through the same computer using the USBc connection? In a previous video it appeared that you may have been doing that.

The first was connecting the blackmagic design software to the micbook air. Once again installed on another window laptop and connected. Then the first laptop (mickbook air) was disconnected. What to do to connect again.
I have been unable to connect any of my cameras to my atem mini pro. I'm not trying to live stream but I cannot even get camera feed to run on any port. Any suggestions?
My MacBook Pro couldn't see the Atem Mini Pro at a location a few days ago. I had to manually put in a IP address but have no idea what that address is - is it the AMP address my computer address or the router address - how do you find it.
I need to look into it. I cant remember. It has to do with the IP address of your router.
Open Network and Internet Settings - Properties - Scroll Down - IPv4 address:
so if the usb is connected to computer. does the actually camera need to be plugged into atem as well?

I have big sur on my MBP yes it has worked at 3 locations but one location it didn't see the AMP it will then ask for a manual IP address - that when I run into trouble because always when it needs that Ive not been able to connect. I still can't find clear information or a video about this process for a beginner than know nothing about IP addresses.
Will this work on a android tablet?
Is there anyway to use the software without having a switcher?
My software continues to show "not connected" even when I unplug the USB-C and plug it back in. It's definitely connected to the computer because I can still use the switcher is OBS. Any other ways to get it connect?

What kind of computer do u have to have and another thing it says is u have to get this card type thing for the computer called the windows 10 64 but or do I not have to get that
only one HDMI port is working That is 1 ,, not working remaing 3 Hdmi inputs. What is the solution sir.

OMG thanks! I used this to set up the ATEM and the black screen for not recognizing it happened. It took 2 min to get it updated and on by seeing the issues you ran across! You are right, getting up and running is a hurdle in itself. You and your videos are such a big help! -Watch for me in the future- SweetLOL_Unka!
I’m having difficulty getting the software to recognize my device. When I manually enter an IP address it states No Switcher Connected. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING EVERYWHERE FOR ANSWERS!
I have had that problem. Try this and see if it works. Unplug your Ethernet cable and plug it back in. I know that sounds dumb, but has helped my network see the Atem and vice versa.

Mark. Try making sure that both the ATEM and the computer are directly connected to the internet. And perhaps also connect the ATEM to the computer via USBC. Don’t give up. You will figure it out! Since it has been three weeks I don’t remember how I made it work exactly. Once everything is connected reboot the computer. Also keep in mind - the ATEM software will initially tell you the device is not there and then it will see it. Good Luck.

Needing to explicitly uninstall before installing a newer version and needing to reboot after installing or uninstalling... 😲🤯 What is this...1999?!
Distinction without a difference perhaps, but wouldn't it be more accurate to say that the software exposes more of the Atem Mini Pro's functionality than the hardware alone, instead of saying that the software has more features than the hardware?
Exactly. This would have steered me away from the product, had I not already bought it! Hopefully less clunky with updates.

question: I want to use usb-c port for SSD on the ISO version, but i also want to use the usb-c port to use atem software control.. Can i first connect my computer, change settings, disconnect the computer then connect the ssd? will my settings stay intact?

Thanks for the set-up video. I unplugged the RJ45 Ethernet Port Cable and discovered this as a fix to the ATEM and MacBook talking to each other. also. My RJ45 Female Jack was NOT indicating yellow / yellow blinking so I reset by Un-Plugging & Re-Plugging In. Not sure if these lights will ever blink green.

Can you install the software on 2 computers that are not on the same network? ie: My director is remote in another state, but I'd like to still have the software in our studio.
Pretty useless until the 10 minute point. Also very poor planning and communication skills.

Kennis, what are you using to prop up the Video Assist? I can't find anything that fits those dimensions. The best I could find is a laptop stand that is far too wide.

How are you connecting the switcher to the Mac? Via Ethernet or usb?

No, the usb is the only way to connect to the computer as a webcam
