- Yoga Nidra or "Yogic Sleep" is a powerful guided meditation that takes you beyond the mind into the healing flow of prana. In This special session Colette one of the Yoga Nidra Instructors at the Amrit Yoga Institute takes you on a special journey.
Yoga nidra cultivates neuroplasticity, a neurological process which enables the conscious part of the re-patterned brain to temporarily override entrenched patterns as new connections are made. At the same time, memories are reevaluated. Those with addictions emerge empowered with new interpretations of old memories, and destructive patterns of behavior simply disappear.
This yoga nidra was designed especially for those in recovery or facing addictions of any kind. This guided meditation allows you to be still, relax and allow the yoga nidra process to sweep away habits, desires and negative thought patterns.

Thank you so much for this.
Since I have a brain injury I have to rest frequently, but can't during the day. Yoga Nidra helps me to relax and build new energy. And your words help me to accept myself as I am and my life as it is.
This is something that everyone needs. I feel more connected with my true self and with God; reality; Truth. I am powerless in the face of my addiction and the grace of reality is becoming my new strength. I hope I can stay dedicated to reality.
Its 4 years later how did it go?
Men can have a soothing meditation voice but the female voice, generally is sweeter and Collette has nailed this one. Are there any more by Collette? I must say I enjoy her English accent as well.

Absolutely one of my favourite yoga nidras. I always feel so calm and centred after listening to this.
I’ve been using this yoga nidra from time to over four years now...I just want to say thank you and I’m very grateful that you published it! 🕉🙏
This is quite literally rocking my world (hopefully no earthquakes, though.) So many things changing before my eyes. It’s hard but it’s so good. Even though I work and have a toddler, this is how I use his precious nap time. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
Colette has an amazing voice. Precise diction yet soothing and warm. Other recordings?
I cant thank you enough!!! I really felt so calm and my mind is at ease . I was filled with worried thoughts before i started and now it is like entering a magic room that feels so much more comfortable! It is a God send to know i can enter this room at any time!
Sounds like you get it, Chris! The more you practice, the easier it'll be to return to that peaceful place.
this has become my personal favourite yoga nidra session. great breathing techniques, interesting focus points on the body. wonderful
Thank you Donna for sharing with us. We appreciate all you do
Awesome!!
This is one of the best nidras.
What a wonderful experience, thank-you. I like very much at the end when the presenter says 'thank-you for allowing me to give what I have received.' That's Yoga in a nutshell...
35 mins that transforms my day every time. thankyou.
thank you for this beautiful and poetic practice: These are sounds and words and a voice that truly heals.
Very relaxing . Defenatly helped my aching body to relax. I listened to a few more last night but I still cant sleep though and now my concentrations gone so im finding it hard to relax again, very anoying
Some tips to relax to sleep...Avoid drinking coffee or anything containing caffeine or energy stimulants before bed...Take Magnesium ….Turn off your cell phone your computer & all led lights 1 hour before bed so you can relax before bed...Also remove TV & all electronics from your bedroom sleeping area....it should be a peaceful environment....Focus on your breath & breath in & out through your hand on heart for 3 breaths or more...& hold your thumb & or index finger as this calms the mind from worry & fear...it quiets the mind & vagus nerve to stop worrying :-)
Mimraa The Ever Loving you’re not alone my dear

I am powerless..... Are these the right words to penetrate your subconcious mind? Should one really fell powerless in the face of their addiction?
When I was doing the deep breathing, in my release of my breath on the third breath exhale I started crying, next breath keep crying, could not finish my breath. Is this normal? I do not know why I was crying but it was not just about the tears it was almost like something was tearing within and coming out. Just wanted to know if anyone has experience this before?
Lore- Thanks for sharing on this. Yoga Nidra works at a deep level to pull out old patterns. Crying and other experiences may occur, there is nothing to fear, just know that your "house" is being cleaned. You don't have to know what is coming out but just know that old patterns and programs that do not serve you will dissipate and the intention will plant new serving intentions. We are so glad you shared and please continue to share. Much love
Lore May I started laughing the first time I did this, It felt good, especially the imagery bit made me laugh and that bit felt great
So healing. Thank you ❤
Nothing unnerves me like that freaking bell!
🙏🏽thank you Collette ❤️
Thank you so much 🙏
Thank you so much! Namaste
This is nice but struggled to really connect. Maybe it was the background noise (didn't seem like a recording space that was properly acousticly treated).
Or maybe it was that you didn't refer to the Crown Chakra.
Regardless I'm grateful for your offering 🙏🏼
Thank you 🙏
Thank you
You're welcome, Deepak.
Thank You 💓💓💓💓
well that was just plain effective
This meditation made me nervous. It asked, at odd intervals, for me to imagine myself in totally unrelaxing places. There was no body scan. And the timing was just strange.
Thanks!!!!!!
I really want to understand and experience this kind of thing
But it makes no sense
“ sink in” “ merge with your body”. “ feeli it”
I just. Don’t lol
It sound. A great. But I have no idea what she’s talking about
Bring peace etc etc
No I have no leave. That’s the point
Light into your organs
Huh?
Maybe I’m just needing to keep trying
But
I never get it
Any meditation
Anyway. Any help is appreciated
it takes time and practice to cultivate the skil of non doing. keep at it!
Ha, well thank you!
There seems to be quite a variety of English accents depending where you are, and the Aussie accents range from obviously Aussie, to not so obvious! Have a girlfriend whose Aussie accent is quite hard for me to understand part of the time, and it always has inflections going up at the end-- not like yours. But again there is lots of variety!!
Love Also YOGA NIDRA wirh Liam Gillen...amrit.
Thanks
Just curious... is this an Australian accent ;-) ?
Great presentation Collette.

You are reinforcing people's sense of powerlessness with the sankalpa used in this session. Addicts need to access their sense of power to create habitual change, and you are having them drive their pre-existing sense of powerlessness even deeper into the subconscious.
It is best to use positive language. Love the acceptance of self bit, drop the powerlessness.
This seems dangerous for someone in recovery to listen to. I love Yoga Nidra but would not recommend anyone use that intention .. yikes.
Eff your ads
Nice voice, but gibberish, which is so irritating that it keeps me awake.
35 mins that transforms my day every time. thankyou.
Thank you
Thank you for spending time watching and being part of this process :) Much Love
