thank you for the vlog. I have the same problem on my 05 Yukon. the hose set up is about 50 bucks @ O'Reilly. I'm going to get the hose and just bypass the heater core. I had to replace all the plastic couplings a week ago. we have no need for a heating system here in Hawaii. one of the benefits of living in paradise. Aloha
Not sure if the Yukon hose is different it if has rear AC and heater. Look on Rock auto there are a few who make it now. Gates. Ac delco think I linked the part I used in the description
What if I want to bypass the heater core? I don't feel like taking out my front dash apart to replace the core. I bought a silicone U-shaped hose to put at the water pump to by pass it but when I looked at it today I think it's all connected.
On a chevy truck there are 3 hoses that have to connect off the water pump so a U wont do it Unless the u is on the hoses off the fire wall. Just hose barb and clamp the two hoses together.
Ghetto Wagon I noticed that. I didn’t want to mess with heater core but I found all new inside panels at a junk yard so I’ll be taking out the dash so I’ll replace the core.
So I have not had a problem with my 06 Sierra or 06 Yukon yet; the Yukon has double the plastic connectors, as it needs to branch off to the rear heater core. So on the Sierra the right heater hose (core side) is a normal heater hose with just clamps, and the left hose still has the quick connect at the core and the stupid collar branching off to the recovery tank?
jewllake The heater core hoses just to right to the fire wall with the plastic quick connectors that cracked and leaked a few months ago (never use the Dorman one, total Chinese pos) The black quick connect had a barbed connector with a plastic collar clap on it, The white quick connect had a spring clamp. I think everything plastic got soft, cracked tore or broke because its so frikken hot here. Even the Rad cracked last year. Or was that 2 years ago I forget. So Far, No more coolant smell. I took apart the old Coolant Y piece, TWO sides of it twisted off with ease when I was attempting to remove the hoses for the used hose hoard pile.
you was pointing out. 1. 2.. 3.. number 1 and 2. what wherr they. I am trying to hunt a slow drip down, seems like the hose that goes down to the left under what I believe is part of the ac. the silver cylinder thing.
the cylinder is dry and cold to touch. the hose that runs off of the plastic tee at the heater core going down to I believe the back heater core. (chevy suburban ) that hose runs just under that cylinder and over a pan, shield of some sort. seems to pool and drip off that and I'm loosing coolant so I can only assume it's a leak.
maybe the heater core under the dash is leaking and it leaks out the AC drip. Loop the hoses, run it, if it stops dripping when no coolant/water is in the heater core, yea you guessed it :D Heater core is a pita
That's what I been hearing. Just driving me nuts.. I fill the rez to full and in a day it's next to empty but the overflow has some. I'm no shop guy but tracing and hunting things down I enjoy, till I get stumped and Google is useless. Haha
yea google is useless you really need to just go after it yourself and you will find it. Reading will confuse you more than getting out there and finding it. If it has REAR AC and heat also check all those hoses that go the rear HVAC box. If you loose that much coolant, that's a big leak! Probably the best would be to rent a pressure tester, pump up the coolant system
@HeyitsWilliamHYT I got under the car and followed the leak up to the water pump. I checked the oil so I knew it wasn't a head gasket leak. I'm going replace water pump and thermostat. Ac Delco brand is what's recommended.
What's the part number for the greens green belt serpentine belt? For the last 7 years I've been running a Goodyear gatorback serpentine belt but they discontinued them and I don't want a cheap crappy one
Enter it in a rock auto search for a 2500 with a 6.0. Then look for it in your combo for your truck. If the numbers of the belt are the same for the green and the black your good. The green belt has a different letter at the end I think They make two different sizes depending on the alternator
Yea a few manufactures make the same part. I advise anyone just to replace it at this point in time and change the plastic fittings at the heater core on the fire wall. 419 they wanted, What a rip. If I had a shop I would charge max like 100 bucks. Only because the part and supplies are close to that
I have also never commented on a video for that matter... haha. I have been trying to figure out if I can just buy the tee actually. Thought maybe it said in the video. I don't see a problem with the hoses and $40 locally for the whole thing is just too much for a truck that I'm not going to use. I think I may take it off and see if there's not a clamp issue going on like you point out in the video. I was considering trying to make a tee out of brass or other plumbing even, but I wonder if that wouldn't mess the flow up if the tee was an actual "T" and not angled. Not sure if it's really pulling through that slanted "T" or if they just put it at an angle for the hell of it. In the years before they sell just a tee that's angled but I'm not sure if the sizes are correct. Hard to tell from my bed... haha
Cool, did you just ask for the tee that connects to the water pump? That's literally the only problem i have and I don't see any point in replacing the entire hose assembly when the hoses are perfectly fine. P.S. I'm in Florida too, so I feel your pain
Phart Smears Its just a coolant Assembly. Gates 22554 Heater Hose is the part. It comes with hoses and the T or Y. ya Any good parts house should stock it, call around. I think its around $30 now its too hot to work on anything here, in the years I lived here it just gets hotter earlier in the day
try 22554!!

That call this place paradise too, I wouldn't call it that lol. Ya the whole hose assembly is the way to go. I got a gates set for about 39

What is the part # i have a 2006 yukon
Not sure if the Yukon hose is different it if has rear AC and heater. Look on Rock auto there are a few who make it now. Gates. Ac delco think I linked the part I used in the description
How did you connect the hose back to the firewall did you use a hose clamp?
Hose clamped the hose to the heater core plastic adapters
Which is the inlet and which is the outlet hose for the heater core???
What if I want to bypass the heater core? I don't feel like taking out my front dash apart to replace the core. I bought a silicone U-shaped hose to put at the water pump to by pass it but when I looked at it today I think it's all connected.

Ghetto Wagon what is that y cuppling called that plastic peice
@@jessicascoggins1431 Heater hose coupler. Just ask the dealer and they will know. Don't buy at the auto store as the Dorman brand is junk!

Yea off the firewall there is a AC drip elbow.

My 04 tahoe leaks somewhere under the engine somewhere. I need help I cant locate the leak
@HeyitsWilliamHYT I got under the car and followed the leak up to the water pump. I checked the oil so I knew it wasn't a head gasket leak. I'm going replace water pump and thermostat. Ac Delco brand is what's recommended.
Did u leave it tuning the hole time????!

$419 fix at my local repair shop... No way!!! Jus did it myself.... $80 to include new coolant. Part number 55224 at OReillys.
Oops.. part number 22554

Same as the Gates part I used. I put it in the description
My suburban is leaking behind the rear passenger side wheel. (?)
Ill see how mine turns out
First video I've ever liked on RUclips, for the factory marks... haha
So you usually are a thumbs downer? Make the marks its cool
If I put a new hose on I will just to pay my respects. Haha. I've never given a video a thumbs up or down before. Congrats bud.
Did you get the whole hose assembly? Th\is gates one seems more solid than the original
I have also never commented on a video for that matter... haha.

you may be able to make a brass T out of three different sized threaded hose barbs
I have 5.7 vette leaking from heater as well
What was the name of the Y split piece and where did you get it? I have the same truck with the same problem lol
Phart Smears gates or Dayco makes it, AC delco does too but the same gates parts. Any good parts store parts house should sell the assembly.
Cool, did you just ask for the tee that connects to the water pump? That's literally the only problem i have and I don't see any point in replacing the entire hose assembly when the hoses are perfectly fine.

Ghetto Wagon how do u disconnect those "plastic clamps" on the y

my 98 engine has a leak behind the top engine. i cant seem to find where its coming from
