NICE! We need some rain - creeks are too low for this time of the year.

      Thanks!
I agree. Hopefully we get lucky though and the rain is a little late and pushes the good fishing and flows further into the summer.

    Greetings from Wisconsin,
Awesome vids! I have only been euro nymphing for a couple years now. Finally starting to get the hang of it. Only one request...can you provide the size and weight (bead head size) of the nymphs that you are using for your fishing session? That would be a big help for this Euro Novice. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a great fishing season!

Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoy the videos. I'll try and start to mention the bead size, but as a general rule all my flies are tied as follows:
      18 - 2.3mm
      16 - 2.8mm
      14 - 3.3mm
      12/10 - 3.8mm
      10/8 - 4.6mm
      Hope that helps!

Nice vid ton of action ....what size tippet do you use when Czech nymphing seems like you’re able to horse the fish pretty well in quick currents

When u hook a fish I've noticed about 40% of the time u put a slight pinch on the line against the rod with your index finger with ur rod hand (method I use) and 60% of the time u don't and hold line tension away from the rod with your non casting hand. Why is that ? You are Have a great season, your off to a roaring start.. great videos !

I usually pinch the line against the rod when there is not extra line off the reel and when I fish close. When I hold the slack line it's because I'm drifting further away or fishing upstream and managing the slack as the flies come back downstream and so as I'm pulling the line to keep it tight to the flies I just end up having to hook set by holding the line instead of it being pinched against the rod. Hope that helps!
      Thanks for watching!

Thanks Chuck! Beautiful fish at the end,and pretty steady catching throughout. Looking forward to future videos. (Pack a sandwich 😎) How do you have your net set up to carry?

haha I usually buy a few snacks beforehand and then forget them in my car while gearing up.
I have the FishPond wading belt with the built in net holster in the back.

is the fishpond net worth it?

    • @Brownsylvania
      @Brownsylvania  3 года назад

The net I had in this video is the Aventik carbon fiber net. About $60 on Amazon. I actually just bought a new FishPond Emerger net because I think it is worth it as far as paint and coating quality goes. The paint on the Aventik chips VERY easily, but the frame is strong. The rubber is also not as good as the FishPond net. I think the FishPond is worth it, but if you're looking for a cheaper alternative the Aventik gets the job done too.
