Admitting your mistake on camera, gives me hope for you young man. That, combined with learning to laugh at yourself, with bring joy to your life. It took me awhile to learn that. It makes a difference. Keep Learning buddy.
@@northwestexploration8119 I got the same rear end and welded it a few months ago and it is no longer locked but still works somehow lol, makes Normal transaxle gear sounds
Good tip for organising the bolts you remove. Take a sheet of corrugated cardboard and punch holes where each bolt goes. Push them in as you remove them. Easy to put back in the right position.
I have a modified LT2000 (2007ish) I was apprehensive about welding the differential cause I thought it would be impossible to steer. But of you floor it (i have a 5" pulley on the motor and a 3" in the back) it'll do doughnuts and that's kind of like steering 😅 But for real, i welding mine in the exact same manor as you have (i used my Lincoln sp100 with fluxcore) and so far it's held up just fine. Like you said, it's all prep work. 3 hours of cleaning for 3 mins of welding, worth every second of your time if you wanna get anywhere in the dirt, on a lawnmower 👌
My peerless mst 206 is a tad different from yours. Mine doesnt have a reverse chain in it. Its gear to gear and mine is oil filled. Also has 2 recessed spots for sealed bearings. The short fat ones and the tall skinny ones. I just got mine welded up a couple days ago but still haven't put it in my Murray yet. I have a 6" on the motor and a 5" on the rear end and mine goes 16mph. Perfect speed imo. But my question is was yours hard to turn the pulley after you welded it. Its not super terrible with the trans in low gears but 4-6 is a pain to turn. Maybe when I get it in and it warms up itll loosen up and turn easier. Idk. My seals were out in the axle shafts so i just put new oil in it and threw some grease in it too. So i dont know. Any info would be nice. Thanks and nice mower man
@@David-Rule It really depends on what trans-axle you have, some are more durable when locked than others. Most of the ones we’ve locked have survived pretty well so far.

Love your ride, great job!
Can't Really Mess It Up😂. Thanks for showing Me The Weld Part trans
Looks a lot like my Craftsman. I love it.
Cleanest race mower I've ever seen
Why thank you

Great video, I’m impressed with how you were able to film it all like you did. I would have gotten mad at it and screwed it up😂

That's great and all... But can you show my how to properly install a shift fork so one can have all the gears available? :)

This is a good and informative video. The only thing I would have liked to see more of is the finished welds. Otherwise, great video 👍
Yo dude I actually bought this mower from a guy in graham last week!!
Nice work

Is this modification good on a tractor that is going to pull a box scraper? Or will it make the diff more likely to break?
Thanks I am planning to lock my Murray
How does it steer with the locked rear end?
I'm just an fyi i think that is a peerless 930 mst 206s and 205s doesn't have reverse chain
That is a Foote transaxle
What size are the front tires, I want to put larger tires on my 6000 craftsman GT, thanks
They are like an 18 / 19 inch tall tire on an 8 inch wheel. They are ATV tires that you can find pretty much anywhere like Amazon or eBay.
How long will it last
Usually forever, as long as the welds are strong.
Could you please let me know the size of the front tires and rims, thank you
8 inch rim, 18 to 19 inch tall ATV tire
I put 4" pulley on my craftsman and 24" 4 wheeler tires and did 25mph before messing with the governor. If the rear was locked it be a death trap!
Toss the gov.
Thankyou
What bore size is the pulley?
5/8" I believe.
How does it turn on pavement?
Surprisingly it’s not that bad, the turning radius gets a little bigger but that’s about it

@@northwestexploration8119 I think I have an 802? it has 1" axles and 12" rims. 20 horse Murry, oil pump opposed twin, 52" deck 1999.
@@David-Rule Sounds like a stout rig, those 802’s are somewhat tough units so depending on what you’re doing with it, it could last just fine
I have the same mower
one of those is a dana spicer or foote. not tecumpseh peerless
All I have is a stick welder from the 70s... looks difficult
I used a stick welder to weld mine, wasn't bad at all. The hardest thing was dropping the transaxle
Tecumseh makes the peerless mst 206
Thats ain't a 206, its a foote..
Sound is horrible
