    Use di this as teenagers had one that did 60+ but the stock steering u cant keep it in one lane but when used to race use to drill pully and tape a scrub screw for added strength so the key way had les stress on it built some even did on that had rear steer made a 4x4 we to were mount to rear to a plate attached to the bolt on axel turned the input on angle like if ure gonna run drive shaft to it made links to attached to were the plate we bolted to original bolt run-through rear and then weld a plate like so we could mount axel with chain and took u joint and made shaft to run to front back and took the motor mounted the shaft faced towards seat under hood and cut slot in chassis down to the sprocket we mounted on bottom never got it fully done with having all the front and rear gears connected to a central point it would of been selected 4x4 with six gears front and back since we use a rear stear mower trans we i was gonna make it independent gears selected for if i wanted to run frunt fast in crawling atleast it was moving were just pre selected the gear and left the clutch on motor do its job it was over size chain clutch for go kart but the 4x4 concept 4 link can be done with mower part some enginuity love to tey to do it again but now 20plus years later built some crazy machine out of mowers and quads little gokart and some dirt bike parts own many bike and quad as kid more then i ever could even count done so many this anything we could use from parts we have lying around we use have my weekend parts just sitting at garage as teens and 20s just build things fun day's

    Often, a drag slick doesnt really matter direction until they're used and they get traction for the first time. Im guessing the tires had direction arrows so that the end user simply didnt forget which way they had them rotating once installed.

    Love this one! I cant seem to find an answer anywhere else so i figured i would ask here. Im not good at pulley swapping and dont have a HUGE budget to make a mud mower/fast mower, is it possible to just swap the front and rear pulleys to make it faster? I heard somewhere else that would work but thought I would ask someone like you. Thanks in advance and once again love the new mower!

    • @chud327
      @chud327  Месяц назад

      You can, but there will likely be a need to cut and weld to make them work on 99.9 % of mowers. I have videos where you can flop the front pulleys and use the deck pulley as the drive pulley. It doubled the speed the two times I did it. Thanks for watching!!

    @chud327 - Really enjoying your mower build videos! Are there any complications with pulley swapping a mower with a variable speed pulley? I'm referring to leaving the VSP in place (in use) but pulley swapping the engine pulley and transaxle pulley. Is it bad to leave the VSP in place? Will it burn up quickly? Have you done a build leaving the VSP in use? Thanks!

    • @chud327
      @chud327  Месяц назад

      I have pulley swapped both of my Troy bolts. Both kept VSP. One was front one was rear pulley swapped. Front works perfectly, rear has to be custom made and is inconsistent. I want to put it back to stock when I find a stock pulley. I don’t know how long it will last but so far so great.

    • @garrybunk
      @garrybunk Месяц назад +1

      @@chud327 So would you say to just leave the rear pulley alone then? I'm not racing this mower, just want to make it a fun utility tractor to use around the property. I'd like to see top speed up around 20 - 25mph, but still have lower "gears" for general use. I believe it's possible to hit 20mph with just a front pulley swap. One big issue is that I want to avoid having to do any welding.

    • @chud327
      @chud327  Месяц назад

      @@garrybunk you can just flip the front pulleys and drill and bolt, mine hit about 10 mph. You can probably fit a bigger pulley for more speed, but I didn’t know how big you can go. If you do it let me know what you used and how fast. I suggest leaving the rear stock.

    When you do builds like these, do you connect the backfire prevention solonoid on the carburetor??
    Personally I do, I definitely don't want fuel destroying my engine.
    My racing mower, I've been wanting to get it done.
    All it really needs is electrical and everything checked over to make sure it's tight lubricated and greased, but it's scary fast.
    It sets maybe 2-Inches or so off the ground.
    I was told it was banned from tracks for being too fast.

      @chud327 I also wanted to mention the surging idle issue with ur Husqvarna tractor. I grew up in a family that's been rebuilding small engines for nearly 35 years and I seen the surging idle issue far to often. The problem is an improper air/fuel mixture in the carb. When you hear a big semi with the engine surging. It's called a lope/loping. It's caused by a whole bunch of fuel being dumped into the engine. It normally happens when the drivers tune the computers in the trucks. But it can also happen naturally by a plugged up injector, an injector that is not the right type or size, or an air intake that's choked up. That is what is happening to ur Husqvarna. If you can Balance the air-fuel mixture in the carb, the surge will cease to exist. I noticed as well when you crawled out of the pit with the Husqvarna, the idle returned to normal for a couple moments. You putting the tractor under heavy load caused the idle to return to normal for a few seconds.
