A mower that is over 40 years old...
It still worked but it needed a lot of investment, so I came up with a crazy idea!
Racing tractor mower...

For a "salvage parts" job, this is really pretty hi-tech. That CAD fender design he was using was just the thing for backyard garage fabrication! (Cardboard Aided Design!!) Nice job!

this looks so easy to make but so complex
I have a one that was a lot easier to do. Razor drift cart yank the electric motor dropped a predator 212 on it and some mower fenders and now it's a drift mower 😂 melted the tires on it twice and I've only been riding it like a week and a half or so 🤷

These can be pretty fun once you get them all done, I put a 25 hp on the one I built and it did about 55 before you would get to scared to keep going lol. Have fun and stay safe as the stock seat is pretty slippery around hard corners.
I was thinking the same thing... I have an E180 with the 25hp V-Twin. The only draw back is I'd have to find something else to mow those six acres out there that just keep growing. I was just thinking of the reaction I'd get from the local sheriff's deputy when I go blasting past his coffee stop on that thing doing 50-60 mph with either a big grin or that other look, just before I'm gonna die!! 😂🤣

The cheapest easiest way would be a live axle with a Jack shaft and centrifugal belt drive then chain drive on the main drive or even better put a double v-belt with a idler and trampoline spring with a linkage clutch pedal and a 670 v-twin Predator out front sounding roudy af! Awesome video and good work I know you sure put some time in on this build.

Ok... I've lost it lol. This mower is moving forward in the very beginning of the video but the tires in the rear are not rotating and they are dragging. Am I the only one that caught that? I mean maybe it's a camera glitch, but it sure does look funny.

Everyone dod this exact thing 2 years ago, i had a pulley swapped vtwin mower
It was a 108
im not sure if you where aware but your brakes wont work properly if the bleader is at the bottom of the caliper you would have to flip the caliper around no hate just letting you know from expirience
It doesn't look like this is the first time you've done this, The precision alone required to make it work is an amazing mechanical feat.🌸💐

Back when they built decks that didn’t fall apart.
Yeah and its damn shame he ruined this one. Working mower with only some surface rust and few bits needing to replace that you can make in garage shop... nope lets just rip it into peaces and hack everything so it will be toyed for year or two until sent to scrapper, while if little love was given it would have served well the rest of the century... Problem is you can get these old reliable ones no more and new ones are garbage designed to fail and be hard to impossible to manufacture replacement at home.

As for restoration work, this is truly high-tech. The CAD fender design he's using is just the thing to build a backyard garage! (Design backed with cardboard!!) Great job!

Seam to need lower gearing for hole shot but other then that not bad us to do this but with all stock components and atleast 14+ singles or twins cylinders 16 were stout engine some modes to engine and pulleys and lowered all with out welder and managed to hit 63 on some but average was 50 just back then and play in joints were to much but it was in my teens 90s we ride them everywhere when it snowed on road but i did live in the hills so cops then weren't big thing

The toe on the front wheels is crazy... why?
Because the drag link between the two axles has no adjustment, so unless he cut the drag link to the exact dimension (which is doubtful) there is no way of getting the toe in/out correct. The front axles also has quite a bit of positive camber this will not help in a racing situation. The steering also needs good Ackerman angles to work correctly.
Could I have the trans axle I want to build my own with a manual?

Why you didn't put on 3 cylinder engine,4x4,servo,suspension and off road tires or drive tire. Why not?
Because that not what lawn mower racers are about it's bare frame and sketchy as hell..sketchy=fun that's the point of a mower racer a toy that goes fast that didn't costs thousands of dollars

@@trevorrowe6231 he probably missed that part, so maybe stop making people sound stupid that just missed something! Anyways most people that build these use the original diff and just weld it to make a live axle.
