  • After the fact I realized that I shot the gel from closer than I normally do and got pretty good results. I imagine the results would be improved with a little more distance and a layer of clothing in front.
Like I mentioned at the end, I have two other rounds that I want to try, but this is the front runner for my home defense setup!

As someone whose used a 230gr .45 ACP, I really like the idea of a suppressed 300blk with 220gr round, quieter and in a package that’s arguably better fitted for home defense. 😊 Sub’d

subsonic even unsupressed is still not super loud, I wouldn’t wanna be indoors all day dumping hundreds of rounds without ears on but for a handful of rounds in a defensive situation you’re probably walking away with some ringing but unlikely to create lasting damage, compare that to a short barreled unsupressed 5.56 indoors and you’re probably looking at some degree of hearing damage

In the other RUclips video tests with this bullet, I got the feeling this bullet would be excellent loaded into 30-30 ammo and with the blunt soft plastic point the loads can be safe to use in tubular magazines.
The current top weight commercial loaded 30-30 ammo is a 170 grain so the 190 grains would be great when the 30-30 is not used for long range hunting.
I also would like to see what this 190 grain bullet does from a 308 win

Nice video. Disappointing expansion. Perhaps with clothing in front of the gel… I have a box although I have not tried it yet. Need to stock up on some subs. I’d like to see you do a comparison of impact points between subs and supers. Several years ago I shot both at a range. At 100 yards, there must have been a 6 inch drop from super to subs. A good thing to know when you switch rounds. That’s a helluva holdover.

Secondly the concussion when fired on the other end of the rifle is debilitating to the bad guy. Also the damage the bullet does is better.
