    We have shot whitetail with supersonic 300 blackout for nearly 10 years now. I have re-loaded multiple bullets and find that the Nosler 125gr ballistic tip is exceptional and still my favorite for hunting.

    Back when I taught Hunter Safety, we would always tell folks to sight their guns in, with the ammo they planned to hunt with. And this is a great example why, different ammo shoots way differently! Even if its the same bullet weight. Thanks for the tests, Again!

    Always a good feeling when your new bing bang likes the lower priced ammo. This little Savage is sure looking like a dandy tool for deer hunting and from what I hear has very low recoil so the younger hunters will enjoy shooting it too. Thanks for the great video! I have 3 300 Blackout rifles, 2 AR-15s and a Ruger RAR. The Wolf 145 gr ammo shoots in them about like the Barnaul does in yours. Good stuff.
    For hunting deer, the Barnes load has a great reputation. For handloads, the Hornady SST 125 gr and the Speer TNT 125 grain also reportedly work fine.

    The only problem with subsonic rounds is; while they may group great, they don't have the down range energy. It's simple math. The faster you throw a given weight, the greater the released energy is on impact.
    The subsonic rounds have to stay below acceptable velocities to be subsonic, so they're doomed to be low energy rounds. I figure my target will never hear the round that killed it anyhow.

    • @denmar355

    Suppressors have been proven to open groups up... But.... A 1/2" difference with or without won't make a deer less dead. If you want THE best accuracy test, take suppressor off supposedly. ( I wouldn't personally, my 10.5" 300blk suppressed does 1.75 moa with remanufactured bulk ammo, ~1.5 with 120 grain Barnes with a can on, deer don't know the difference between 1.5 and 1 moa. @@chrissewell1608 I did watch it.... the statement was not "His gun and groups suck" the statement was "suppressors open groups up." I understand it sounds goofy, given he had touching groups with subsonics. Many competition shooters no longer use suppressors at distance for the reason I provided. I am not saying he isn't having great groups, he mentioned in video some groups were not as good (paraphrasing)... Just giving a reason as to what could change outcome. supersonic and unsuppressed could change the group size.... Not saying it needs to happen nor should happen. no deer cares about the size difference we are talking about.

    • @benjaminhuberty5888
      @benjaminhuberty5888 Год назад

      @@DinoNucci Respectfully, we can both be wrong... each gun is different. many competition shooters do not use silencers due to the group sizes opening up. I am not saying you are wrong as his subsonic were touching. I am happy for him! I am merely saying suppressors have been found to increase group sizes, this is not a debate on him having bad groups. Every group is great in my opinion he shot sub and super. Every group was a dead deer, that's the intended target for that gun, therefore I wouldn't change his set up. Competition shooters may try spice things up, but again, different intention for the gun. Thank you for your time Dino.

Maybe that's just what you could pick up locally, but there are a BUNCH of hunting round options normally available in stores and online. I'd love to see some 125g SST, 110g V-max vs the heavier 150g soft point options. By the way, I got unsubbed from your channel recently. Only noticed when I had seen in the 'home' feed this upload, but didn't see it when I clicked on my subscriptions tab. First time I'm aware of that's happened to me.

    I would guess the reason you are getting better subsonic accuracy is because the supers are losing energy and transitioning to subsonic before hitting the target, becoming unstable in the process. I would like to see information on expected velocity at various ranges to confirm this.

      Nah. No way they are going subsonic at only 100 yds

      @@DinoNucci apparently you cared enough to comment you didn't care, so actually I win either way. That's how the analytics work. A comment is made, a response to that comment follows, then the popularity of that original comment still advances making your point equitably moot. But nice try,

    Man 110gr Vmax is the best, and no test of that? Unfortunate.

    Pointless using a suppressor with super sonic rounds..

      I highly disagree. Saves your ears. Point of a suppressor is just as much to make supersonic rounds hearing safe as it is to make subs really quiet
