We have shot whitetail with supersonic 300 blackout for nearly 10 years now. I have re-loaded multiple bullets and find that the Nosler 125gr ballistic tip is exceptional and still my favorite for hunting.
Back when I taught Hunter Safety, we would always tell folks to sight their guns in, with the ammo they planned to hunt with. And this is a great example why, different ammo shoots way differently! Even if its the same bullet weight. Thanks for the tests, Again!
Yup! Appreciate you watching
Oh for sure especially with a can on the end!
My favorite 300 blk super recipe is 125 grain accubonds with H110 worked up as hot as your gun allows. The bolt guns generally let you get them really warm.
My daughter has taken several deer with 110g monolithic 300 supers. They do a great job.
300 blk is probably my favorite bullet right now. It's a pretty versatile round. You should let us know if you tag a deer with it or something.
Always a good feeling when your new bing bang likes the lower priced ammo. This little Savage is sure looking like a dandy tool for deer hunting and from what I hear has very low recoil so the younger hunters will enjoy shooting it too. Thanks for great videos full of good information. Good shooting and gods speed to the WTW family and fans 💪🏽🎥💯👍🙏🏻
I'm glad you got into 300blk and suppressors it's been my favorite thing for years now . Get yourself a reloading setup and you'll really start having fun making the quietest subs .
Thanks for the great video! I have 3 300 Blackout rifles, 2 AR-15s and a Ruger RAR. The Wolf 145 gr ammo shoots in them about like the Barnaul does in yours. Good stuff.
For hunting deer, the Barnes load has a great reputation. For handloads, the Hornady SST 125 gr and the Speer TNT 125 grain also reportedly work fine.
Looking for more 300 ACC ammo, Freedom Munitions has some really good ammo and the prices are for boxes of 50. I buy from them every month.
The best deer hunting load I’ve found is the Barnes 110gr Blacktip or Hornady 110gr Gmx loaded on the hot end. Great load out to 150yds.
I don’t hunt anymore, but I do have the Barnes 110gr TSX in my Banshee AR pistol for self defense. It’s my “truck gun”. Only thing I’m gonna change is removing the brace and installing a plain pistol buffer tube…to make it more concealable of course. LOL
I also heard a couple years ago, Delta was using the Barnes 110gr Blacktip as a “duty” load
I can’t those 110 GMX’s to expand reliably at .300Blk velocities, even when loaded hot. I think they are really designed for faster cartridges.
@@kenpickett9317 Make sure you’re getting the 110’s designed for .300Blk and not .308Win. Two diff bullets. I’ve recovered 2 bullets (110gr Barnes blacktip) from deer. Both expanded awesomely from my 16” AR. You want the Tac-Tx for .300Blk, Not the blue tipped TX.
those groups are plenty good for deer hunting!
🦌🦌🦌
Appreciate the hard work trying to put this together, keep up the good work 👍
Appreciate you watching
Barnes tac-tx is the best hands down for deer
I’ve killed 8 deer with that load. They die very quickly!
Nice groups ! I've not looked into 300blk much so a learning guide for me , Thanks !
The best groups I found was with tula ammo 10" ar
Gotta love it when the cheap Barnaul steel case outshoots all the higher priced rounds! 🎯🎯🎯
I just love your simple, honest testing and video posts. Thank you very much for taking to make RUclips posts!
Appreciate you watching
I've found Federal American Eagle 150 grain fmj shoot awesome through my 300blk around 1in groups. Deer hunting I use Winchester Deer season 150 grain.
Should now take top 3 subs vs the top 3 supers in a damage test... not clay tho. Great video as always
Great idea!
Another awesome video WTW! Thanks for sharing brother!🤘🏽🤘🏽
I have this same rifle in black! Thanks for doing the ammo testing. Saves me some $$.
Lol, every barrel is different
To a degree.... Debbie Downer.
I shot a friend's AR. That thing was scary. He sat up plastic bottle lids at 50 yards. And we were shooting with his can. On 300 blackout is no joke. Pats on the back for the groups.
“That thing was scary” lmao man up
@@mattandrews8528 you don't like the way I said that I'd say f*** you
Im gonna have buy a 300 blackout now great video
Awesome review! More please!
Love for you to do a version of this with it being versus balistic gel
Very nice....truthfully all of these will work just fine
Watched both videos. Love the ideas. Who tee who
🙏🙏🙏 always appreciate you watching
I loaded and shot deer with the 110 tac bullets. Also I have shot deer with the Barnes 110 ttsx. Both bullets are excellent for killing deer.
Thanks, WTW 😁
Not bad for a ready to hunt combo👍
Haha results like this make me laugh out loud everytime. My 308 does groups better with wolf than most brass "better" ammo
Still pretty good groups 👍
Barnaul makes a hunting soft tip with the same basic grain weight
I have an older 300 Blackout Ruger Ranch and a newer Ranch in 350 Legend. No supressor but... I think if I could only keep one would be the 350 but that 300 with those 110 Gr Tac TX from Gorilla are great and a local guy loads the 110 SSTs for about 60% the cost of the Gorilla... both are great and mean mean inside about 150 yards.
Fine grouping ! You have a great short range setup …. Go to the woods I like them hunting videos !! Appreciate you !!
Just subbed first time watching awesome video i will watch all from now on
Appreciate you watching Max! New videos every day!
Cool stuff! 😀
Some of the steel ammo will surprise you. Good shooting.
I’d want a 22 with suppressor for cleaning up rabbits and their burrows on the golf greens. Love the Nosler ammo
Buddy you’re the only person on the planet that can make a savage axis that cool!!!!! 🤣🤣 sweet little rig brother!!!
😆😆😆
The only problem with subsonic rounds is; while they may group great, they don't have the down range energy. It's simple math. The faster you throw a given weight, the greater the released energy is on impact.
The subsonic rounds have to stay below acceptable velocities to be subsonic, so they're doomed to be low energy rounds. I figure my target will never hear the round that killed it anyhow.
Agreed. The sun-Sonic is really a good home defense round in an AR with suppressor. I argue that there are much better options for hunting than a 300AAC.
6.5 Grendel for one.
@@denmar355 Absolutely there are many more suitable cartridges out there.
Great video WTW
Great video
Good info, thank you for taking the time and effort. By the way, is your barrel twist rate?
Gotta clay test the winners from subs and supersonic
The frontier did the best not real inpressed with any of those groups that ning bang deffently like subsonic s better dude still a great show dude good job
I wonder if the barrel length and rate of twist are making it like subs more that's really interesting
be nice to get velocity on the supersonic loads
@turfpainting endurant paint in gallons. And hit those gallons with ballistic tip supers 🙏
Nice gun
Thanks Hootie
Thanks for watching Paul
The 2 and 1--groups-- indicate bedding or optic problems. Make sure the barrel is not touching the stock at all.
This question has nothing to do with the video. However , I love all your stuff. Have you tested the Bergara b14 ? Just got one in 6.5 cm. Thought you might could save me money and time on ammo. Thanks
I’m all about the supers. Lol
Suppressors have been proven to open groups up... But.... A 1/2" difference with or without won't make a deer less dead. If you want THE best accuracy test, take suppressor off supposedly. ( I wouldn't personally, my 10.5" 300blk suppressed does 1.75 moa with remanufactured bulk ammo, ~1.5 with 120 grain Barnes with a can on, deer don't know the difference between 1.5 and 1 moa. Nice video!
You should check out Who Tee's last video, shooting his suppressed ammo, w/ the same rig. Some of those shots were touching!
Wrong.
@@chrissewell1608 correct
@@chrissewell1608 I did watch it.... the statement was not "His gun and groups suck" the statement was "suppressors open groups up." I understand it sounds goofy, given he had touching groups with subsonics. Many competition shooters no longer use suppressors at distance for the reason I provided. I am not saying he isn't having great groups, he mentioned in video some groups were not as good (paraphrasing)... Just giving a reason as to what could change outcome. supersonic and unsuppressed could change the group size.... Not saying it needs to happen nor should happen. no deer cares about the size difference we are talking about.
@@DinoNucci Respectfully, we can both be wrong... each gun is different. many competition shooters do not use silencers due to the group sizes opening up. I am not saying you are wrong as his subsonic were touching. I am happy for him! I am merely saying suppressors have been found to increase group sizes, this is not a debate on him having bad groups. Every group is great in my opinion he shot sub and super. Every group was a dead deer, that's the intended target for that gun, therefore I wouldn't change his set up. Competition shooters may try spice things up, but again, different intention for the gun. Thank you for your time Dino.
In your opinion what would be the best for deer hunting with 300 Blackout? Also what do you think would be the best for deer with a .223?? Thanks! Love what you do for us!
Whichever shoots best in your rifle
WTW, you have any recommendations for that laser sighting rig? I was poking around. I figured you might have some more experience than me. Thanks.
I have the same rifle in 30-06. Had to change the scope after sighting it in. Blew the rings out of the scope dont know how.
Yikes
The 270 is all you need
Those noslers would not group worth a darn in any of the 300blkouts I've tried
So did you hunt with your CVA 300 blackout pistol? You should check out Handgun Hunters Competition. It is in June in Newcastle WY. And as far as I could see, you have all guns needed for all divisions in this competition. It well get you hooked to handgun hunting, I am sure :)
Not yet I havent
@@WHOTEEWHO now you need to come to HHC :) it will be a lot of fun, two days shooting steel and then we shot praire dogs with handguns and specialty pistols (CVA pistol is one of them). :)
@WHO_TEE_WHO Can you tell me your barrel length and twist rate please sir? I shot a group of those Varmeggedon 110g out of a 10.5 with a 1/7 twist and got keyholing on the target at 100 yards. No baffle strikes on the suppressor but the holes on the target looked funky.
Video description says SUBSONIC btw my guy. Great video!
Not anymore! If it did...
@@chrissewell1608 Not the title but in the description text "In this video we test out NINE different SUBSONIC 300..."
I wonder why don't you put a chronograph in front of the barrel when doing group tests? That would give valuable data on the consistency of each brand of ammo with minimum extra effort.
Actually a lot more effort. An additional camera and double the amount of editing time required. I did however wever plan on it. - I just forgot the chronograph at home
@@WHOTEEWHO Forget the camera. We trust you :)
I don’t see the advantage of a 300 AAC in supersonic. The cartridge is a good choice for AR platform and close(home defense) ranges. There are many cartridges that will have far better terminal performance with 110-150gr weights at any hunting distance. To each their own.
In Alabama , they don't allow fmj ammo for deer hunting 😕
Neither in TN
We want to see more Underwood ammo tests. Lehigh Defense 68g 9mm, 65g 357sig, 10mm, etc. also underwood 300 BK 2400fps. Get some………
I don't typically use underwood. I am anti them since they blocked me on Instagram for some reason 😆
What you think bout grease mine stinks
Accuracy wise they are all fine to drop a deer...the difference is the projectiles..those tipped rounds will be devastating
how do you know if you ammo is super sonic it never says on the box i assume regular rounds are all super sonic except the ones that say subsonic
Over 1100 feet per second
You didn't shoot Hornady 110 grain V-Max. Think you missed a good bet there if your primary concern is accuracy.
Pre-Cov the .330blk was an affordable toy to plink with. Now, my .308 is the same price or cheaper to play with.
Missed the main show but made the rerun LOL
?
Can I ask why u keep taking your face off rifle on each shot and trying to catch brass? When everywhere says don't take cheek off stock to get accurate shots. And just pick up brass when done
Try them without the can.
A savage..... where's the Ruger? I must be in the wrong channel.
Very cool! I'm requesting a 300 Blackout milk jug test!🇺🇲✝️🇺🇲

Yes I do
No gel test? Should change the title to accuracy test.

So quiet
I love it
Curious why the majority were non-expanding if this is testing for hinting? Maybe that's just what you could pick up locally, but there are a BUNCH of hunting round options normally available in stores and online. I'd love to see some 125g SST, 110g V-max vs the heavier 150g soft point options. By the way, I got unsubbed from your channel recently. Only noticed when I had seen in the 'home' feed this upload, but didn't see it when I clicked on my subscriptions tab. First time I'm aware of that's happened to me.
I would guess the reason you are getting better subsonic accuracy is because the supers are losing energy and transitioning to subsonic before hitting the target, becoming unstable in the process. I would like to see information on expected velocity at various ranges to confirm this.
Nah. No way they are going subsonic at only 100 yds
Lol cheap ammo for the win
Oxymoron

@@DinoNucci apparently you cared enough to comment you didn't care, so actually I win either way. That's how the analytics work. A comment is made, a response to that comment follows, then the popularity of that original comment still advances making your point equitably moot. But nice try,
@@K_3_R_R wrong.
Man 110gr Vmax is the best, and no test of that? Unfortunate.
Pointless using a suppressor with super sonic rounds..
I highly disagree. Saves your ears. Point of a suppressor is just as much to make supersonic rounds hearing safe as it is to make subs really quiet
