9:52 it looks like a resourceful move, however he could also move the knight on d7 to f6 instead, making room for the king. I don't see a threat here. Maybe Eric will get the a8 rook some turns later, losing the knight in the process, but that'll be 3 pieces for a rook.
Am I the only one who noticed that the video is slightly running on fast forward? I noticed that typical Eric phrases sound different than usual, then I compared the proper time on the lichess clocks with my own stop watch and confirmed it. =)
at 6:55 he should have played rook to H7 (check) ... black could either play king to G6 or knight to H6... if black played the knight then white can take the bishop in F6... if black played the king then it would protect the rook from the bishop
I think you missed Queen to H5 on move 9.. check only defense is move pawn to block then take with checkmate... I’m only rated 1000 so could be wrong here but worth looking into
The „oh no my bishops“ gambit
This is the funniest shit all day.
I like that. Eric should also be credited with popularizing this
That's just like the botez gambit but sacing your bishops lmao.. the eric gambit
@0bada nah, the oh no my bishops gambit is intentional

Eric's most under-appreciated skill is to tactfully mispronounce user names that have double entendres to avoid them. It's like a counter attack.

10:45 this would’ve been so wild if it happened in the game cos it went from a double bishop sac from white to a three pawn sac for black in ten moves

1:03 Famous last words
9:52 it looks like a resourceful move, however he could also move the knight on d7 to f6 instead, making room for the king. I don't see a threat here. Maybe Eric will get the a8 rook some turns later, losing the knight in the process, but that'll be 3 pieces for a rook.
It was mate after 5th move:
6 : White: Bxf7+
Black: Kxf7
7 : White: Qh5+
Black: Ke6
8 : White: d5+
Black: Ke5
9 : White: Nf3#
I think you missed kf5 at 7:42 after the black king moved. Forking the bishop and the king, hence winning the bishop.
You know you messed up when Eric takes time on a seemingly obvious move
I also sacrifice my bishop but not intentionally
sacrificing 2 bishops to end with a pawn move checkmate, absolutely glorious
STOCKFISH(AFTER THE SAC):
-4 BLACK COMPLETELY WINNING
ERIC:
GOES ON TO WIN
Went from no bishops to having two rooks for two bishops. Up double the xchange
eric speaks really classy that i thought he was british. carefully pronouncing the words
“Thanks Hugh underscore Jazz” lol he totally missed the chance to say “thanks huge ass”
Eric:Don’t try this at home.

The Rosen Gambit is born.
Rosen: "Do not try it at home"
Me:
9:53 He could have mated here. If he just moved Queen H5. King can't move out and can't move to the side because of Knight D8.
0:32 , Y Bg5 , Black's Bb7 is attacking the pawn , instead of defence , Bg5 !?🤔🤔
9:30 “thanks for the game... hugh jazz”
Me:got’em
Eric Rosen is playing chess in a way I can only describe as jazz
6:09 finally from oh no my queen to oh no my rooks 😂😂
I'm going to have to study this, that seems like a fun opening.
These sacs look as fun as the jerome gambit. Probably neither are sound, but in blitz, still playable.
On move 30, I think Knight to f5 would have been good as you would check king ang threaten to kill bishop on e7
“Oh no my rooks”
Worse than
“Oh no my queen”
7:50 should have
(white) Pawn to g3 check
(Black) King to h3
(White) Rook to h6
Mate
At 7:47, why wasn't knight F5 check, black king to H5 rook to H6 not a checkmate?
Because ...Nxh6 at the end of it. Not even Eric could survive after that.
move 12 I thought Qg7 was mate for way too long was just about to put it into the engine when I realized my mistake
Didn't blunder at 9:29
What a huge ass save
Nice gambit bro! Got 2 rooks for 2 bishops!
1:01 in this position didn't he have force mate? with Bxf7+ Kxf7 Qh5+
nevermind, I'm dumb
Eric's Gambits are basically playing with odds but winning because you're too good
I feel like I’ve played the Rosen gambit before but in a different time setting
At 7:40 you should have played Pawn G3 and rook h6 to checkmate
Nice pawn mate. That's the one kind I've never been able to do.
I think you missed Queen to H5 on move 9.. check only defense is move pawn to block then take with checkmate... I’m only rated 1000 so could be wrong here but worth looking into
Jk rook takes I’m a bot
6:44 you could have played: 28. eRh7, Nh6 29. dRxf8
My impression is that Eric is getting stronger and stronger.
The opponent eventually won with the troll name gambit causing you to say 'Huge Ass' 😂
At 7:38 you could just Nf5 check and only black king has is Kh5 and then Rh6 mate, still thats a crazy play😂
rh6 isnt mate because theres a knight to kill the rook?
I'm like, even after hundreds of years of people playing chess, there are still gambits being invented
We gonna call this bad boy the Rosen gambit
7:45 pawn to g3 and rook to d3 is a checkmate i think.
well 1. thats playing two different moves so they could be able to stop it in time, and 2. kh3 so its not checkmate
Hugh jazz. Best name right there
Hugh jazz joke went right over your head
