As someone who has taught writing to college students for many years, I appreciate the positive and encouraging tone that Eric uses while sharing bad news with his opponents. I try to do the same during office hours consultations on an essay that needs a lot of work.
I started falling in love with chess a few weeks ago and I can barely understand what are the openings or defenses are until I found this channel...... For this I thank you a lot. It helped me so much. Subscribed 😊
I developed this exact opening on my own very recently, I didn't know there was a name for it. This single opening has really helped me fight my way from 800 to 930 in blitz games. I would say this opening works 60% of the time, everytime.
Damn someone used this opening on me yesterday and I didn't know it. Luckily he had no idea what he was doing and I was able to win. But I would've been destroyed by this had he been more experienced
"He always seemed such a nice, soft-spoken young man. Very polite and considerate. Who would have thought that under that gentle exterior lurked such a violent, deadly demeanor. It always seems to be the quiet ones, doesn't it?", he asked as he replaced the King on the waiting square. "Indeed, my dear old chap. If he had only stayed one move ahead of you in the real world, rather than the world of the 64 squares, he might have slipped your trap!" "Lady Anne should have chosen a less unworldly partner for her financial scheming....Well, too bad for 'Ponzi-Annie'! Come, Whatsumb, let us seek sustenance in the local pubs." And so, this adventure came to a quick and timely ending.
Watched you for the first time. Loved the cool and calm way you played, along with explaining every move which is very helpful for beginners. Subbed, liked immediately. Keep up the good work.
THAT’s what my opponent was trying to do! I’m pretty new to chess and don’t really know any openings. Two days ago I played a game and this was my opponent’s opening. I didn’t really understand what they were aiming for, but he ended up too focused on what he was doing and didn’t seem to know to to respond when I threatened his queen
I just watched this guy for the first time, and I immediately like his content,it's easy to understand for an intermediate player like me , pretty sure I'll be back to this channel

Hey Eric I love your vids. I started playing chess the second week of November after watching the Queen's Gambit. Things have been really bad for me this year, but thanks to chess I'm doing so much better. I have no idea about openings, but I seem to get through them. I've been playing on Facebook and so far have won more than 20 matches with no losses. My bucket list is to play against you. I know that's impossible, but if you can recommend some sites where I could play without engines. I don't want engines I enjoy the beauty of just playing
