He did all that and scored 35.1ppg on a team that only averaged 96ppg a game as a team and he did so in the slowest paced era and lowest scoring era in league history.
When MJ played Point Guard: over the 24 games he played point guard, he was averaging 30 points, 11 assists, And nine rebounds. After that year, Phil Jackson became the head coach. and Jordan moved back to shooting guard.
He also had 7 triple doubles in a row and a streak of 10 out of 11 games during that period. Jordan was a 2 guard, a scorer, but if his role changed he could also be a prolific passer as well. Also, his team defensive help ability, IQ, and instinct allowed him to assist in guarding multiple positions, evidenced by his high blocking average for a SG and blocks on centers and power forwards.

Great overall segment and review. Now it is time to finally discuss the overarching problem. Who’s bright idea was it to compare anyone to MJ in this daffy era?? Then Lebron Dumb Dumb had the nerve and audacity to state openly that he was the greatest basketball player. Opening Michael Jordan’s Pandora’s Box, revealing him to tens of thousands of youngsters in this era who went on RUclips or other media vehicles to see what MJ was all about only to become awe-inspired that anyone could play ball like this has made MJ even greater and unreachable because Mj was minding his own business in formal retirement for over 21 plus years. This is the main reason why there was never a GOAT Debate it didn’t exist, this has been an exercise in hyperbole and delusion.

As a guy who began watching the NBA in 1967, I confirm that MJ is the GOAT. The case for Kareem ranking 2nd is also compelling. Kareem has 6 Chips, 2 Finals MVPs, 7 1st/2nd Place Season MVP Vote Shares, 10 First All-NBA, 10 First All-Defense, and most NBA Longevity Stats comparable to LeBron despite 4 years in college. For a number of detailed reasons, Kobe is 3rd.
For all the marbles, money etc... Micheal Jordan set a standard that Kobe, Lebron and Wade couldn't match... 1. Two three peats 2. 72-10 with a championship 3. Never played a game 7 in the finals 4. Baggy shorts, shoe deals, knee brace, wrist band are all extras🎯
Why do we have to penalize Kobe because of Shaq? The Lakers don't 3 peat without Kobe. People act like Shaq was a gravy train that took everyone for a ride. Kobe saved the Lakers ass many times during that 3-peat.
The one big lie that irritates me beyond most of Lebeon lies... is he guarded Derrick Rose. D Rose blew by this kat like he wasn't there in 2011. On one play he went by Lebron and dunk so hard I wanted to call them people on him. 😂 Look... I could guard all positions. It doesn't mean I'm defending against those positions well. Lebron didn't save the day and guard Dirk. He didn't dare try D Howard or Tim Duncan... Sheesh! Jason Terry gave him the bigness in the finals... Who has Lebron ever shut down in a big game?
Michael was the first player to ever break the rules every team runs with a system Michael had the triangle but when he said give me the damn ball and get the f*** out of my way Michael will go for 40 50 or 60 and it wasn't even close he was unguardable and for me that was the ultimate thing we've never seen that before a player that says give me the f****** ball get out of the way and score 60 points and win the ball game going through penetration dribbles breaking defenses and the zone defenses he was nuts
I think Kareem doesn't get the recognition he deserves. The man was elite on both ends of the floor and had as big an impact on the game as Mike. And if you look at their college and HS careers, Lew Alcindor accomplished more than Jordan as well. Kareem is the greatest basketball player that ever lived.

He also scored 60-50-65-50 in consecutive games. In 2003 he scored 40+ in 9 straight games. Outscored the Dallas Mavericks 62-61 by himself after 3 quarters, sat the 4th; he was easily on his way to 80 that game. Didn't matter, he hit 80 soon after. He did all that and scored 35.1ppg on a team that only averaged 96ppg a game as a team and he did so in the slowest paced era and lowest scoring era in league history. Kobe eliminated a record 24 50 win teams (vs Lebrons ~11, which is less than half.) From 2008-2010, Kobe actually faced a 50 win team in all but 1 of the series’ he played in, with a record of 10-1. Furthermore, he famously played through injuries to his own detriment which meant many of his scoring feats were done while injured. He won an NBA title and won FMVP with a broken finger taped to the opposing finger on his shooting hand. He also took on the opposing teams best player as often as he could on defense which is probably why many people think he wasn't as good defensively as he actually was. Simply the greatest difficult shot taker and maker in NBA history which makes the fact that virtually every year of his prime he shot above league average even more remarkable. He would have rewritten the modern scoring record books if he had the freedom on offense current players enjoy.

the goat debate is for kids and adults who never came close to being good at sports.. if the game ended with Jordan's 36 points per game they lose every game. Who scored the rest for the bulls? How can you be the greatest in a team sport.. silly humans..
Kobe is the closest to MJ. The major difference between the two-IN MY OPINION- is that MJ had bigger hands. For me it’s MJ, a distant second Kareem then Kobe.
I hated Chicago but Jordan was by far best player of my lifetime it clearly gets exponentially harder to win plus 3 championships, Jordan was awesome offense or defense, he ate the game up, and he was willing to give up stats for wins and he did it from one team, its insulting to compare LBJ to MJ hell LBJ wasn't as good as Kareem, or Duncan, Jordan and Bird were also the best ambidextrous players. LBJ is at best top 10-12 of all time
The frustration I feel while having GOAT debates, doesn't stem from the fact that I think Jordan is the GOAT and the person I'm debating is arguing for someone else. The frustration I feel comes from the fact that I don't think it's close.
the fact that leCringe fans is giving more importance from winning down 1-3 in the finals than winning 4-2 and not facing eliminations in the finals is wild to me😅

He literally did the samething as Kareem with softer rules... NO LEBRON IS NOT THE GOAT.
And I can't stress this enough. During Jordan's era, there was no 3 second rule in the paint. So you could literally camp out in the paint and wait for your opponents to come in the paint. And there were "true" rim protectors back then.
Aside from the senseless trashing of Jordan, the nba has put a bad product on the floor in the 2010's and 2020's and called it a good one in an attempt to erase the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's from existence in the mind's of the youth!

@@williamtudyjr6665 The NBA should just do that themselves. But its a business and they have to "protect" their ..."product".
When MJ played Point Guard:
over the 24 games he played point guard, he was averaging 30 points, 11 assists, And nine rebounds.
And he never won until he had system in place he didn’t even beat all the competition.LeBron did

The GOAT Debate ended for me years ago at the FT line. MJ would drive intentionally to seal a close game with FTs. He also had 10 50 point games in the 2006-2007 season alone.
Kobe eliminated a record 24 50 win teams (vs Lebrons ~11, which is less than half.)
From 2008-2010, Kobe actually faced a 50 win team in all but 1 of the series’ he played in, with a record of 10-1.

All the Bronsexuals talk about his longevity but they never mention that MJ could’ve kept playing. Dude was hands down the best in the league when he retired. He had nothing left to prove.
Bron is still playing because he’s not the GOAT
MJ is the GOAT and no one is even close to him. You know how there’s an MJ of this or that, like Brady is the MJ of football, Tiger is the MJ of golf and so on and on, but I dont hear anyone say so and so is the Lebron of whatever.
the goat debate is for kids and adults who never came close to being good at sports.. if the game ended with Jordan's 36 points per game they lose every game. Who scored the rest for the bulls? How can you be the greatest in a team sport.. silly humans..
When we compare players, the world always compare players to MJ. You don't get credit for losing (6). Not close.
Kobe is the closest to MJ. The major difference between the two-IN MY OPINION- is that MJ had bigger hands. For me it’s MJ, a distant second Kareem then Kobe.
Big facts
The fact it even is a conversation is a joke in itself
I hated Chicago but Jordan was by far best player of my lifetime it clearly gets exponentially harder to win plus 3 championships, Jordan was awesome offense or defense, he ate the game up, and he was willing to give up stats for wins and he did it from one team, its insulting to compare LBJ to MJ hell LBJ wasn't as good as Kareem, or Duncan, Jordan and Bird were also the best ambidextrous players. LBJ is at best top 10-12 of all time
The frustration I feel while having GOAT debates, doesn't stem from the fact that I think Jordan is the GOAT and the person
I'm debating is arguing for someone else. The frustration I feel comes from the fact that I don't think it's close.
....don't forget ...Dunk Contests !!!
Jordan... contests
Lebron... nothing
the fact that leCringe fans is giving more importance from winning down 1-3 in the finals than winning 4-2 and not facing eliminations in the finals is wild to me😅
40,000+ points but won the scoring title only once, means that LBJ achievements are more about longevity.
I agree with every word Avery Johnson said; however, the argument should be greatest of each era (or decade), then maybe we could come to some sort of majority agreement.
