@inthegutterstaringathestars Jordan did what it took to win, and the stats and accolades just naturally compiled.
LeBron has been backwards. He hunts the stats and accolades while adding as much star talent around him as possible to make championships easy.

The argument is this: Jordan is more accomplished in 12 years, than LeBron in 21, with less help and comparable competition, and the King played in an easier league, where they don't hand check. The pace has picked up and numbers are inflated. LeBron takes several games off each year because of load management. Jordan played all 82 games most of his career. Let Jordan play even 17 years, and even LeBron fans would admit that there is no debate.

Lebron has done irreparable damage to these new fans' perspective on the game. They really think that even if you lose as long as you have the stats you can't be blamed. Literally 0 context at all put into the game and how it ended. These games normally ended with MJ scoring the game-winner or making a string of incredible plays down the stretch to seal the deal. In contrast, on Lebron's side, it ends in him bricking shots in the final minutes (most of the time) and getting bailed out by a superstar teammate or just losing the game outright. I don't want to hear about Kerr/Paxon making wide open shots, they aren't comparable to Ray's game-tying buzzer-beater (elimination game) or Kyrie's 3 over Curry to put them in the lead and make Lebron comfortable enough to go to the line and brick 1/2 dagger freethrows. No problem with Lebron being these kids' favorite player, MJ isn't even mine, but stop the disrespect by trying to put him on MJ's level. The man took the NBA to the next level and inspired all our favorite players. Lebron has done nothing but ruin the NBA with his antics since Kobe passed the baton to him.

In only his second season he beasted then feasted on Celtics FIVE hall-of-famers in 86 playoffs. Bird said "Mike was God in Nikes." Even before MJ got to the NBA he dominated a bunch of NBA All-Stars in prepping team USA for Olympics. And after the very FIRST time Bird faced MJ in the NBA he told Dan Shaughnessy from Boston Globe "That guy is going to be the greatest ever - you just watch." Not only did Larry become a legend, he also became a prophet.

      6 - championship's

Let me be the first to say there is nothing wrong with the Lebron James argument, however, its shortcomings hinge on not having any substance. When discussing MJ or Kobe their career criteria have a greater substantive package and impact, the dedication, commitment, passion, mental toughness, along with the ability to embrace adversity with poise. These are pillars for obtaining excellence, and high-level winning while creating such a standard for their very peers.

So when you play 22 season and counting how can you not accumulate stats? Had MJ played 22 years He would have been a stats guy too? MJ needed 2 retirements just to play 15 seasons while LeBron played 22 seasons straight. I am a huge MJ fan but that's not fair to say about someone who has 4 rings. If LeBron really is a stat guy then he wouldn't have joined Miami and stayed in Cleveland all 22 season and counting because he doesn't need to share the basketball with other great players.

What kills me is, LeFlops so called "numbers," other than the 40k, are not impressive. Inflated for sure, but not impressive. And, when you ask about his stats/numbers, in real time his backers will stall after 40k and 1 assists title. They then have to go to Google to continue. Whereas MJ has stats and accomplishments for days. Especially in the Finals and playoffs. Unmatched!!!

What is the worth of stats if it’s done in the process of losing? So many times we’ve watched LeBron stat padding while clearly not believing he can win. Yet Kobe gets downgraded for gloriously trying to win even if it damaged his stats. A true winner. Can’t stand hearing LeBron’s name in the same sentence as MJ
