It's all about a love for the game. Many of today's players are solely focused on the financial rewards and privileges that the business side of basketball offers. Consequently, their passion lies more in the material aspects of the game rather than in honing their skills. This is why there appears to be a lack of genuine talent in modern basketball.
Well in fairness to them, they're part of the 1% (really, less than that) that made it to the NBA and of those 2 rounds of guys that make it, maybe 10 of them actually last to their 2nd contract. Then IF you make it that far, you live with the reality that all it takes is one injury, one allegation or one important person that doesn't like you that can end your career. So yeah of course you want players to have love for the game, but college and pro basketball isn't just a game in the 21st century. It's a business. A multi BILLION dollar business.
"love of the game" how many out of NBA tournaments did MJ play in.... never heard of MJ at the rucker? or in drew or in the crossover... love of the game you say LOL
@@bmomosaik Oh, I understand now. You're a youngen, so I won't be rude. Young brother Mike didn't care about that type of stuff. He mostly just love to play basketball. Remember when he was making space jam and they built a whole facility for him to play ball and work out. He invited all the big time pro players. That was Mike..all that other crap, the could have.
There’s no benefit to approaching the game like Mike and Kobe when you have people making the league off of clout or their daddy name. And once the get to the NBA they don’t have to work hard to win because if you have a big enough name they will push you through just like they do for Lebron every year smh
@@JC-Utopic-Gauntlet lol ok… let’s have the debate… he says there’s no benefit to approaching the game like MJ and Kob’ because you can get in the league just off the clout or their dads name… I mean, MJ had 2 sons … they both played ball… they didn’t get in the league? Why’s that? I think you probably have to be good to play in the league no matter who your daddy is. You do understand that no everyone can be great… just cause you don’t make the grade doesn’t mean you’re not working hard. This narrative that you have to be like MJ or Kobe to succeed is absurd… MJ didn’t last in the league, he played 3 seasons and had 2 retire twice… Kobe broke his body multiple times for what? 5 years without playoffs? Lol… There’s multiple ways to succeed… you gotta do it your way… put in the effort your way… work ethic is standard though
@@jaysandi88 just yesterday Coach K was not talking about how they do not make them like "this" anymore "jordan, bird, magic, kobe" these guys don't love the game. With the exception of KD they can all walk by a gym and not feel they "have" to go into it. I never said everyone who works hard is going to make it in the NBA. If so I would be an NBA player. Being healthy also has a major part to do with it. My case just because you are talented and can stack a team don't mean you should not be living in the gym year round working on your bag. There is great reward with great effort if you have both the gifts of health and god's gifts of size and proportions. You said there is no reward for hard work. Which is something who is not a competitor would say. You are correct if you are not a competitor there is no reward for hard work. If you are a competitor and a perfectionist then your goal is perfection your goal is to be the BEST you can be. Becoming the BEST you can be is the reward.

The biggest difference between MJ and Kobe versus LeBron is competition. LeBron is entitled and plays for praise and really prostitutes the game of basketball for his ego. You hear the way MJ and Kobe had the professionalism and seriousness about the game. That’s what these guys don’t have. It’s not about the game. It’s about their ego. None of them respect the game at all. LeBron has not given anything to the game he has only taken from it. They can make money, but the measure of the health of a sport is fan interest. The NBA right now is the only sport moving in the wrong direction in this category. They are also the lowest in this category other than the WNBA with the NHL may be a little below them. The NFL is destroying the NBA and major league baseball now that they have the pitch clock is starting to pass the NBA as well, which should not be happening. The NBA is the perfect sport for social media the highlights better than any other sport. So why is the game not exploding in popularity? The entitlement and ego of the diva narcissist players that act as though they are above the game. This does not happen in any other sport. No other sport does a guy get a contract and then just stop caring. Now and then maybe but if you look at DeAndre Ayton and Bum Simmons (which Klutch and LeBron coordinated) - it’s a total disgrace to the game and the fans. The NBA is the only league that doesn’t care about its fans at all. MJ and Kobe would play every game because they said there might be a fan that never saw them before. They took every time they went on the court seriously. LeBron sits out a Lakers Celtics national tv game to try to embarrass his coach - the team wins and he pretends to be excited - then the next night he comes back to stat pad against the worst team in the NBA - that says it all right there.
@@kingjruck6507And? What does expository and/or potentially superfluous dialogue matter if the point is still correct? Sure, getting to the point is generally better, but if a person doesn't write an essay, the natural comment choice is always 'lmao what a hater'. The reality is most modern NBA players do not have the same interest in the game as older players did. It's a means of easy cash and attention, which is fine; just say that. Nobody bats an eye at some homie working a desk job and him saying 'I'm really just here for the check', but NBA players will clearly phone it in on the regular, and we have to pretend to believe they care deeply about what they do. They don't, and I don't knoe about everyone elsd, but I'm tired of pretending.
Jordan craves for *victories* VS Lebron craves for *fame.* That's the difference. That's why Lebron hops from super team to super team while Jordan, Kobe and many old school legends would cringe at that thot.
@@justkeepnitreal4198Lebrons bag is literally put his head down and ram into smaller defenders for a layup/dunk, or a shoot a long uncontested 3 that he usually misses. He shoots around 36% on any field goal that isn’t a layup which is pretty horrid considering the fact a lot of people call him the goat.
@@someguy2385 😂😂😂😂 dude is still a subpar/average FT shooter as a primary ball handler. I also always laugh when peoole mention him in the same conversation as a playmaker to Magic. They're not even in the same universe. Dude is still averaging 4 turnovers per game in the Olympics as he makes some of the most careless & baffling passes. To hear the commentators blame guys like Devin Booker for not "always being ready" to catch some of the crap passes he makes is laughable.
@@atlien1988 Lebron is below average in everything besides dunking and his passing/iq is so overrated. When people talk about his passing what they do is they find highlights of him making good passes and then act like he does that every game which is not at all true. A lot of Lebrons passes or simply him doing a logical basketball play that 75% of NBA players do yet when Lebron does it it’s “high iq” plus Lebron gets a lot of iffy assists where he passes the ball and someone will dribble from the 3 point line, to the basket and he’ll still get credited with the assist. Not only do we have to worry about how many actual genuine assists he has but we also have to hear Leboner fans try to convince us that standard basketball passes somehow means he’s as good as Magic, Rondo, or Kidd. ☠️
One of the best examples of the Kobe wanted the moment for me, was in the ASG when he was guarding LeBron on the final possession and he got mad when Bron passed the ball instead of taking the shot. He felt like Bron cheated him and the fans of a moment of greatness. He was visibly upset, says a lot especially compared to how the ASG is treated now
Those guys today make 500 million because of the dream team not because of what they did. The NBA is still making money off the ghosts of the past. LeBron works on his body, not his game and it’s typical narcissist behavior. He wants to make the appearance of being great, not put the work in because he is so entitled just his existence makes him think he is already the greatest thing ever. Plus he is surrounded by constant enablers that just tell him whatever he wants to hear. LeBron really is detached from reality because he has never had anyone hold him accountable, except Pat Riley. And we saw with Pat Riley that LeBron couldn’t handle it and ran away. Notice the only time LeBron James ever went back to back in his career was with Pat Riley holding him accountable. Never in his career could he ever make a winning culture or sustained winning anywhere he went. He got lucky with the Cleveland team and Draymond Green got suspended. Then he blew that up because his ego was too big to function with Kyrie. Then he manipulated the NBA to force Anthony Davis to his team then in the bubble. That’s it in 21 seasons. No dominance, no dynasty, no sustained winning anywhere. Who says they didn’t win because LeBron stopped them? No one and that’s the guy people are saying is the greatest ever? Really the NBA has just totally lowered their standards with LeBron and it’s chased away real basketball fans. More real basketball fans watch the WNBA then the NBA. The NBA really under Adam Silver has become a marketing gimmick for teenagers to make highlights on social media. It’s really not functioning as a competitive sports league. Adam Silver cares about social media highlights and gambling and that’s it.

@@JoshuaHopkins-j9o 1000000% I agree. Kwame Brown said it best - LeBron is good in transition and with an open lane. That’s it. LeBron pretends to be what Jokic actually has in skills and what Kobe and MJ were and to a lesser extent AI had that killer mentality that LeBron has made a clown out of himself trying to fake. That’s why he could never accept coaching - cause he can never be accountable. Back to back one time in 21 seasons on a team that he didn’t build the culture. Wade and Melo are both FAR more skilled than LeBron. LeBron needs the PEDs now specifically because he has zero skills to fall back on. All he has is being bigger and stronger and faster than people his size.
ALL FACTS! From everyone in this comment thread! I’m glad people are seeing through the BS that LeBalco is and his weak mindset. He’s a pessimist who’s been gifted naturally. No bag. No work ethic. No competitive drive. Just BALCO! and I suspect he gave Bronny that BALCO too but he had those heart symptoms so they stopped giving it to him and kept it moving like nothing happened.
The key is in the preparation. The reason MJ and Kobe were not afraid of the big moment(s) is because of how thoroughly they prepared. It's just like when you're taking a final exam. There is no need to panic if you are thoroughly prepared.
Preparation? They could not win a playoff series or make the Playoffs with a winning record. It was all Phil that cause their assent. They had 15 coaches between them, but only made the Finals with Phil and the Triangle. WTFYTA? YASAN!
So, according to Coach K., LeBron prepares just like Kobe. He said it in multiple interviews. If that's true, and according to your logic, if you prepare thoroughly, you are not afraid of the big moment, then LeBron is not afraid of the big moment. How can you calculate what "fear the big moment" means? You're talking like you have the mind of a child.
@@therealc.t.7085 Answer this...... How many years did LeBron play with ROOKIE coaches before he took them to The Finals? That is why he is THE OVERGOAT!
There are two reasons why there are no more players like Jordan and Kobe. First, young players are identified and coddled. AAU, high school, and college coaches are hired and fired based upon how they mesh with players. Teenagers are bigger than the game. I have an 11 year old. He was in a basketball camp last week. When I was talking to the coach at the camp, he told me there is an 11 year old in our town that is already got IMG Academy, high school coaches, and even colleges talking to his parents. Luckily this kid is nice and humble, but how long does that last when he's a fifteen year old with adults massaging his ego and freaking out over him? Second, the money is so enormous that the emphasis from parents, coaches, and friends to "get that bag" and not be great. Everyone around these kids knows that the kid is going to be fabulously wealthy and if they're around, they'll share in that wealth. So, to get that wealth, the kids are taught to play with style, not substance. All the entourage cares about is that one big contract so all those supporters can suck off that teat. With all that money flowing, coaches know that the kid or his parents are in control. Try to discipline the kid and the coach gets fired when the parents threaten to transfer the kid to another school or AAU team. These reasons are why all the really great players in the last few years are from Europe. Their club system doesn't encourage those behaviors.

Once u get the bag, the reason to work hard is over. It's almost like those plumbers and firemen from the era i grew up in were working hard af since the NBA was there 2nd job.
I think the boxer Marvin Hagler said it best when he said: its tough to get out of bed to do roadwork at 5am when you've been sleeping in silk pajamas”. This is in no way HATE for the new age players but it's OBVIOUS that they prioritize BRAND over BASKETBALL. When you are making 50 to 60 million per...and that's just your contract money, not sneakers, endorsements, brand deals etc the LOVE of the game becomes SECONDARY if you aren't really passionate about it (INSERT BEN SIMMONS). To me there are only a handful of guys I would say are TRULY PASSIONATE about the game...that would be KD, Kyrie and Steph (Although I think Steph will be a professional golfer when he retires). Bron' is about his bread and his billion...he tries to act like he loves the game. He just likes what the game can afford him. Those love of the game players are gone like Ataris and cassette decks. KD/Kyrie are like vintage vinyl you never get tired of playing and Steph changed the game like the Ipod and he's about to get phased out by streaming services lol. Coach K dropped some gems tho' one of the greatest coaches and basketball minds ever...he calls it like it is. Just my 2 cents you can keep the CHANGE. Carry On...
No generation of athlete has been given more and complained more than this generation... it's nauseating... and they have zero shame or self awareness... NONE
Back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's winning the championship was the number 1 priority. They put in the work first, then after winning the championship, the money became the reward. Then next season the championship became the priority again. Nowadays, it's backwards. The size of the contract is the priority. Now the goal is, who can land the biggest contract before accomplishing anything. Players are now paid in advance for what they can potentially do for the team in the future and for promises they likely can't keep, So, winning doesn't matter because they've already been paid for work not done. This took away their drive to risk it all to win because winning doesn't have that cash reward anymore because you already got the cash. They getting Max contracts without winning anything. That's like getting your Christmas present in October. You will have nothing to look forward to on Christmas day, so why even care about Christmas. You would have no reason to be great in November and no reason to even get out of bed on Christmas. Never pay a person in full before he starts a job. He will half ass everything or he may not even show up. This is also why you can't pay a player enough money to not complain about foul and bad calls. You can pay a guy 250 million and he will still bitch and complain and get himself ejected.
Why would LeBron spend a million dollars a year and work so hard during the off-season summer break if he doesn't care about winning championships? "Then next season the championship became the priority again." That's all your species has in its arsenal: narrative after narrative to infinity. It's quite a talent to know so much about the motivations of 90s NBA players without ever having spoken to them or penetrating deep within their psychic world. "Now the goal is, who can land the biggest contract before accomplishing anything." Is anybody supposed to take this nonsense seriously? What answer can anybody give to your comment rooted in non-narrative-based evidence?
@ScottRachelson777 It's impossible to spend a million dollars a year on your body without some of that money going towards drugs. Use some common sense dude. There's only so many back rubs, Pelotons and NordicTracks you can spend a million dollars on every year. 🤣 I didn't specifically say LeBron doesn't care about championships. Of course he cares about championships. Nobody makes it to the Finals 10 times that doesn't care about championships. I was talking about how players nowadays will boldly show you that the bag is the most important goal. Try bringing up Jordan's or Russell's ring count in any goat debate. As soon as you start counting rings, they will say "ring count doesn't matter." That's a phrase that was NEVER said by a player before 2004. Nowadays, rookies are getting signed to 55 million dollar contracts and haven't won a damn thing. In the 90's and earlier, you had to at least carry a team to the Finals, consistently make it to the playoffs or win a championship before you can get that kind of contract. Not anymore! In my opinion, less than 5% of players in this era are willing to take a paycut to recruit a player who can help them win a championship. Those 5% are the stars. The rest are all about the money. That proves the money is more important to the majority. Back in the 90's, not many players were asked to take a paycut for the team because they weren't getting paid these crazy amounts like Jason Tatum in the first place.
@@hellbent7062 I agree with much of what you said, but I disagree with the assertion that LeBron takes drugs. While it's possible, it's not a certainty. Without concrete evidence to support this claim, it's no different from accusing any or all NBA players of drug use without proof. "It's impossible to spend a million dollars a year on your body without some of that money going towards drugs. Use some common sense dude. There's only so many back rubs, Pelotons and NordicTracks you can spend a million dollars on every year. I didn't specifically say LeBron doesn't care about championships. Of course he cares about championships. Nobody makes it to the Finals 10 times that doesn't care about championships." The above statement contains a logical fallacy known as "begging the question" (also called a circular argument). This fallacy occurs when an argument assumes the very point it is trying to prove. In this case, you assume that spending a million dollars a year on one's body must involve drugs without providing any evidence for this assumption. You treat the premise ("spending a million dollars a year on your body must involve drugs") as a given fact without substantiating it. This makes the argument circular because it relies on an unproven assumption to support its conclusion. Common sense is often proven wrong. It’s also not reasonable to make unsubstantiated claims simply because they seem intuitively correct.

I remembered when people recognized Michael Jordan as the Greatest. There was no debate on any of the “is he better than this player or that player”. Everyone just knew MJ is in a league of his own. Now lebron has the media people trying to push the narrative for him to be better than MJ. Still I only heard when someone did something amazing, they would say that’s Jordaness.

Remeber-LBJ would not be even mentioned as great back in the 90's if he played in that era, but if you bring MJ, Kobe, Bird, Magic into todays watered down game of today, they would be the top studs!
As an NBA fan for almost 60 years, I think they get their money to soon. I definitely want them to get paid but any kid that gets what they want too easy will not put in the work.
Labron think playing with bronny will help him be the goat. It would be different if bronny was a Clone of labron, but he's small. Most of these new modern American players were single-mthr raised. They're more worried about their outfits, hairdos, shoes, and comfortability. No discipline, no patience, no focus, no dedication, no ruggedness, no dignity. That's why the European and other foreign players are dominating.
I agree . They have so much feminine energy now by being raised by single mothers. They come in a league and when they have a coach, they can’t dealwith male authority. KD is a perfect example on social media personally responding to BS to parent household provide Mail authority and presence.
That's why I said what I said about LBJ not giving 110% every time on the court. His love became like work to him now. he lost it, I think, after losing to the Mavericks. There were spurts of moments when he still said I still loved it but that it was not my first love anymore. If you ask Bron the question in any post-game interview... "Do you still love it?" give him a moment to realize what you were talking about and see his reaction... You'll know. If the light is still there. You'll understand 50% of why he is still playing, maybe more.
He could have been the greatest if he had worked on his game as much as Kobe did. Kobe did have the blueprint to his basketball expertise, but everyone thought that was crazy. What LBJ doesn't have from Kobe and Mike is that CRAZY love for their first love, which is basketball-that psychotic love. basketball trumps over everything else!
when youre not as good as at something, you work on it... we see how hard he worked on his 3pt shots...there's evidence of it...mid range not so much. free throws least favorite... so 20 years of playing basketball... he only worked on his 3pt shots more than his fadeaway shots in the post to mid, after that free throws... everything else peaked because because he didn't work on it enough or work on it enough to get by... that's why he isn't as great as both of them before him. but that's my opinion about Bron away from the theatrics away from BB.
It’s shitty that this new generation only knows these shitty modern players cause it’s the norm now. They didn’t get to experience the older gen of basketball to give them some kind of comparison of what it really meant to play with heart and passion for the game.
The breed that MJ & Kobe were, are now RIP. This is also partly how not just the NBA but Corporate America has treated upcoming potential superstar players. Pampered from the very start. Their wish is the command for the companies and endorsements, name their price...and that's even without winning anything YET! Max here, max there. This is why I'm still looking out for a possible anomaly, that somehow, somewhere, from the ashes will rise a certain dude, that has a remnant DNA of the (2) above, of that elite & rare warrior who will not be contented with his God-given talent AS IS, but will continue with hard work to even sharpen his skillz, and play his heart out WIN or LOSE, with or without spotlights, and compete with his own already-topnotch self. Yup, that'll be SPECIAL. Just like the memories of the (2) GOATs above. During my lifetime (of what's left of it?). Maybe and maybe not. I'll be watching out...
I agree that they deserve the money and that's great for them but I totally agree and I'm old enough to remember MJ coming to the league. Now the money they made back then is equivalent to what they get now. It was unheard of when MJ got 36 mil for a season. My point is that those guys played for the love of the game. Everytime sumn had to do with the NBA we got to see all the superstars Dunk contests 3point challenge and all that and their attitude was the fact that there maybe some fan who's coming to their 1st game to watch their favorite player and they didn't wanna let their fans down and they actually appreciated the love and support of the fans and understood that this is what they get paid to do and if it was any other job they wouldn't slack off there so why do it here. Also it was their love of the game that drove them to play all 82 games a season. They actually hated missing games for any reason. Shiiiii MJ went against the docs when he messed up his ankle and literally willed himself to come back weeks b4 they said he could. Kobe learned how to shoot with his left cause his fingers were broken so he wouldn't miss no games. Nowadays these players are too pampered and spoiled and are DIVAS if you ask me. Remember when they came up with the 65 game rule? These dudes were actually complaining about doing there job like WTF??? They know they have millions of fans and they don't care at all cuh the superstars literally won't participate in the dunk contest. In the ALLSTAR game they don't actually play a real game outta fear or getting hurt like are you serious. They play their hardest when they know its max contract time and once they get it they slack off and don't so shit. I.E. Ben Simmons or Andrew Wiggins and there's no repercussions at all. Can u imagine paying someone 100s of millions of dollars and they decide to sit on the bench cuh they wanna get traded after u invested in them. LBJ is the 2nd most popular NBA player next to Steph and look at the difference on how they are treated and how they approach the game Nowadays when a player grinds like Steph to become who he has its like OMG and everyone speaks on it like it's unimaginable how he works out and grinds for this game he loves right which is crazy cuh that was almost the norm back in the day. Then u have LBJ who you don't ever hear about him doing anything extra when it comes to his work ethic in basketball at all like you did about the past greats or like he said about K.D. or u hear about Steph. LBJ doesn't play defense never has and he only gets blocks when a player doesn't know LBJ is behind them and when he does they make the biggest deal about it smh. The narrative is he can play all these different positions which is false. My point is he does the least amount of work possible and gets the maximum credit for it and they want you to believe that he goes the hardest and is still able to play at the highest level which is bullshit. If every player that has ever played the game averages let's say a 12 year career with giving it their all till there's none left ain't no way in hell LBJ has done the same but is able to do it for 21 yrs. He has only played all 82 games twice his career he averages 60 games a season and he came in at 18 doesn't play defense and controls the pace of the game due to the narrative he's a point forward he doesn't and never has played a fast paced game in his career and just stands around looking stupid when he doesn't have the ball. Soooooooo if you allowed any of the top greats shiiii any NBA player to play as he played his whole career GUESS WHAT??? They be doing the same thing he's doing right now. Kobe played 20 years and they never made a big deal about how long he was playing at a high level although his last 5 yrs were bad cuh he messed his leg up but imagine if he took the approach LBJ did Kobe would've played for 25 yrs. My bad for going crazy but I told u I could go on for a year how LBJ has made a mockery of the NBA
What he said about Kobe and Mike during big Moments reminds me of Ant Edwards. He smiles during big moments too. What Coach K said describes Ant smile two.
Its not just the money. Its how SOON they get so much money AND they do not even have to be very accomplished to get it. That breeds a kind of entitlement, hubris and indifference that is difficult to manage and direct, especially through some struggles.

We're now arguing that a man who's a billionaire who's praised by everyone including NBA players and coaches and is still at 40 playing at very high level ( in spite of all the money he's made), doesn't love the game??? If you look at the dream team, right now, the NBA should be pushing Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on this team USA. These guys should TAKE the reins from LeBron. Not wait for him to give it up. This is why the NBA is the toilet bowl. It is right now. Because it’s a WWE for a 40-year-old man who can’t win and we are ignoring the teams that are actually winning. It’s showing it’s not about a competitive sport. It’s about WWE stat padding.
@@anthonybell9135 exactly my point. They could bust his as but they don’t - that’s WWE. That’s not a competitive sport. MJ bust Magic’s ass so bad in 92 that they all knew the torch was passed. Before practice, Coach K says that LeBron stretches for over a half hour to prepare his body. While he prepares his body, he also prepares his mind. And when it was time to play whether in practice or a game, he always wanted to be the best, all the time.
He learned that from Kobe in 2008. They go to club while Kobe Jordan prepares morning training after game before game eat sleep well. And protect their body while studying their opponent.

Debating and discussing LeBron James with haters goes something like this. My example uses their style of argumentation and not any specific references to basketball, per se. It expresses how futile it is to deal with this kind of low-level thinking: They use incoherent ramblings with little to no logical connection. For instance, if someone says, “The Catholics believe such-and-such, which is silly,” and I reply, “Actually, no, we don’t-we believe this different thing that’s not so silly,” that’s not “witnessing”. That’s just engaging in discussion or debate. But if I reply, “You may think it’s silly, but let me tell you what God has done for me since I joined His Catholic Church,” or if I reply, “I pray that the Lord Jesus will open your eyes and soften your hardened heart,” that’s “witnessing”. It adds nothing to the discussion that the owner of the answer values or can meaningfully engage with by way of rebuttal-regardless of whether I may think it’s a very valuable thing to add. If I write something about human exceptionalism, and someone comments to do nothing but tell me that, no, humans are no better than any other animal, I’m going to delete it-because that comment adds nothing to the discussion. All it does is tell me that the commenter disagrees with me, and possibly that they feel strongly about it. But what can I possibly reply to that? All I can really say is, “OK, agree to disagree.” I have no interest in getting into a “playground-style” debate of, “Is not!” “Is too!” “Is not, is not!” “Is too to infinity!” That sums up what it's like talking to and debting LeBron haters.
Coach K nailed it. Guys back then liked money but they were more driven by rings and their standing among their peers. Pride in being great. Don’t see as much of that today; too easy to get the big money and start working on your brand. But there have been some all time greats in recent years. Kobe is there. Duncan too.
Okay!!! OK!!! OK!!! There is Real $!!! And, there is Nominal $!!!! Therefore, how do you express the NOMINAL VALUE of $500 million today in terms of the REAL VALUE in 1992 $??? Before you dive too deep into your argument!!!!

His body is what allows him to stay on the basketball court. Don’t contradict your own commentary!! That’s stupid!! And the question was about 3 players and he responded accordingly!!!
Even though today's players maybe more athletic than yesterday's player, players from yesterday were more fundamentally sound, tougher, and more competitive.
Just say you don't like Kobe bro. It's VERY clear & indicative why he HAD to be the way he was (2004 playoffs was his worse showcasing off this) . I would be too in one of the slowest paced, one of the lowest possessions per team, one of if not THE highest overall team defensive ratings in league history, and one of the lowest points per game scored era's per team. Also, it's moot to mention he played with two hall of famers when they weren't in the hall of fame at that time. Pau wasn't even considered an all-star caliber player before joining the lakers... let alone a HoF'er.
@@Mandownsports You asked at the end why he didn’t mention LeBron and I answered. He clearly did mention him with the greatest compliment you can give any player. He also put Larry in the “not as many competitors like that”conversation in the same statement when we went down that list that included Magic, Kobe, Jordan and LeBron. Durant came up later when he thought about current players who love the game. For some reason you only mentioned Mike and Kobe in the title. Also, the first question he got asked was specifically about comparing Jordan and Kobe in their approach to practice and competitiveness. So obviously his answer would be focused on those two. It would be weird if he started talking about LeBron in there like he HAS to be included in every basketball conversation or else it’s saying something negative about him.
I think we get caught up in eras or how much money people make too much. Regarding the players, MJ and Kobe were unique in their approach to the game. That’s why we talk about them. I’ll list two players MJ and Kobe respected that didn’t share their work ethic; Allen IVerson and Charles Barkley. If you compare money from 80s to now of course it’s going to grow. The game has grown. It wouldn’t be paid if they couldn’t afford it.
It's simple, if you dont require alot from your son or daughter, where do you think their drive will come from? You reap what you sow. Struggle and hardship can make the the best human possible, either you will learn to be and do better or fall.
Part of the problem in the league is that perception overcomes reality. NBA basketball is great for social media - viral clips and video games obscure the hard work that goes into becoming a professional basketball player. The bar has been lowered for many players who are skating by with crowd-pleasing or 1v1 moves. I will never say that these players don't work hard, the question is, are they really invested in playing for love of the game or to get more clout? What's disturbing about players today is their sense of entitlement and their willingness to take shortcuts in order to be "successful." Anyone with a decent career in the NBA, with smart spending, will have the capacity to create generational wealth. That's something many of these players don't appreciate, especially since they are reaping the benefits of the earlier generations' hard work.
coach k don't forget anything, for him to say that is because he SAW it first hand and he knows mj and kobe were completely on a different level both is skills and competitiveness... I know bronsexuals love to ignore facts and lie to make queen James more than what he is, but the plain and honest truth is the dude has been in the league for 22 years and STILL doesn't have a shot outside 5ft., he STILL doesn't have a bag, he STILL has no handles, and he STILL hides from the big moments. Dude has been playing the same way for 22 years and thats putting his head down and running full steam to the rim for a layup or dunk, and thats why he concentrates on his body so much and not anything else like shots, footwork, and dribbles. NOONE can sit there and deny it cause thats the truth. Dude has had the most all stars on his team, so for him to only have 4 championships after all these years and teams he's been on is an underachievement in my eye.
It's very common to say, "It will never be as good as it was", and "Nobody will be the same as that guy". It is also truly absurd to make such a broad statement.

I like coach K's response. He would not pick a player among Bird, Jordan, and Magic. Right on, Coach!!!!
Coach K didn't forget LeBron; he actually remembered Lebron, which is exactly why he didn't mention him because he ain't that dude, haha.

Man this is it right here, you summed it up perfectly. The focus is on individually what can I get not how great can I make my team.
Why would LeBron spend a million dollars a year and work so hard during the off-season summer break if he doesn't care about winning championships?
"Then next season the championship became the priority again."
That's all your species has in its arsenal: narrative after narrative to infinity. It's quite a talent to know so much about the motivations of 90s NBA players without ever having spoken to them or penetrating deep within their psychic world.
"Now the goal is, who can land the biggest contract before accomplishing anything."
Is anybody supposed to take this nonsense seriously?
@@hellbent7062
I agree with much of what you said, but I disagree with the assertion that LeBron takes drugs.
Nobody makes it to the Finals 10 times that doesn't care about championships."
The above statement contains a logical fallacy known as "begging the question" (also called a circular argument).

You have to find the interview that Coach K did on why he wanted players from 2 family households.

LBJ is the 2nd most popular NBA player next to Steph and look at the difference on how they are treated and how they approach the game
Nowadays when a player grinds like Steph to become who he has its like OMG and everyone speaks on it like it's unimaginable how he works out and grinds for this game he loves right which is crazy cuh that was almost the norm back in the day.

Debating and discussing LeBron James with haters goes something like this. My example uses their style of argumentation and not any specific references to basketball, per se. It expresses how futile it is to deal with this kind of low-level thinking:
They use incoherent ramblings with little to no logical connection.
All I can really say is, “OK, agree to disagree.” I have no interest in getting into a “playground-style” debate of, “Is not!” “Is too!” “Is not, is not!” “Is too to infinity!”
That sums up what it's like talking to and debting LeBron haters.
Funny how underrated Magic is today.

The NBA world will never have players like them when they depart.
9:45 Dude... Stop. Barkley is on the 50 year anniversary team AND the 75 year anniversary team. He's from F'ing LEEDS, ALABAMA. You think they had Sprout's and Trader Joe's type isht in MFing LEEDS, ALABAMA in 1979??? He was eating Chit'lin Sammiches and cheap White Bread and washing it down with Kool Aid. His family was poor AF. No one GAF about diet in the South back then, how do you know? You ever been down South? EVERY PUBLIC BATHROOM I went down there had a damned biohazard dropbox for the Insulin syringes. He's one of THE BEST to ever do it.
Coach K, don’t own anyone anything he can speak the truth
coach k is a college coach. he is not a nba level coach he plays 4 pass basketball from the 80s maybe watch the game before you comment...
His body is what allows him to stay on the basketball court. Don’t contradict your own commentary!! That’s stupid!! And the question was about 3 players and he responded accordingly!!!
@@altonweaver7757 whatever that means
Even though today's players maybe more athletic than yesterday's player, players from yesterday were more fundamentally sound, tougher, and more competitive.
Kobe went 10 for 30 every game nobody watched that ball hog who missed every playoff without 2 other hall of fame players
MJ was intense former teammates spoke on the practices being more intense than the games
I heard Coach K throw LeBron’s name in that greatest player ever conversation but your confirmation bias was too strong to hear that part apparently.
That's because my video wasn't about that. It was about Coach K saying they don't make players like MJ and Kobe anymore
Coach is absolutely correct!!!
Mike & Kobe!! in that order!
Facts
Mike and Kobe are Fruits with seeds in them that gives life Bron is a fruit without seeds gives Death to the game of basketball
I think we get caught up in eras or how much money people make too much. Regarding the players, MJ and Kobe were unique in their approach to the game. That’s why we talk about them. I’ll list two players MJ and Kobe respected that didn’t share their work ethic;
Allen IVerson and Charles Barkley.
Narrator, kobe learned from MJ that extraordinary competitors attitudes. Give credit where credit is due..
I love coach K’s Chicago accent. Quintessential
Big ups mel
🫡 salute
coach k don't forget anything, for him to say that is because he SAW it first hand and he knows mj and kobe were completely on a different level both is skills and competitiveness...
Great piece what you see now with this group they are looking for highlights than shutting teams down early..they play enough defense to win..awesome comments..new subscriber
Thanks for the sub bro
@@Mandownsports 👍🏽
Alot of those older players came from strong 2 parent homes w/ strong masculine fathers- wheras now these players are spoil, entitled & lack the leadership and competitive edge & mental toughness- it goes deep.. plus the effemination of men as a whole has alot to do with it as well
Very interesting 👌
Tho it was real quick,Coach K did mention Lebron as 1 of the top 10 players in the history of the game!..Btw, Kobe was & is my #1 top player 4Ever‼️💯🏀🐐
Right again Mel! What coach is saying is MJ and Kobe had a competitive fire that couldn't be bought or matched. Which is why they don't have six finals losses. MJ competed against the best LeBron teamed up with the best. And people think there's a GOAT debate.
Facts
Kobe always said if he went to college he would've played for coach K
