I picked up a CZ 75 D Compact (my first CZ) about a month ago and put a few hundred rounds through it so far… a mix of FMJ in several weights and numerous types of hollow-points in different weights. It has functioned fine on everything so far, except for one round of Remington HTP 115 grain in a Mec-Gar magazine mis-fed (the rest of that batch - and everything else - cycled fine). For me, it operates superbly in both double- and single-action. I have numerous handguns (Beretta, S&W, Walther, Glock, Ruger), and I can shoot my CZ at least as well as everything else I have, if not better. I am quite impressed with how well I can shoot it, its ease of performing follow-up shots, how it feels in the hand, how it carries. It is surgically accurate, and quite pleasant to shoot. Prior to picking it up, I’d heard about the difficulty some have reported getting a good grasp on its low-profile slide to rack it, but I haven’t found that to be the case. The slide serrations are aggressive enough to obtain ample purchase to rack it readily. I can easily see this pistol entering my carry rotation, and quite frankly, becoming the primary. Semper Fi from an old Marine.
Great video - getting one as soon as I can - love the ship footage as well - I am a retired CPO with all my sea time on AOE’s and carriers. Sure miss a lot about being a career Navy man. Thank you for your service.
Excellent chief, you won’t be disappointed in the CZ 75 compact. I Remember several of my ships getting refueled by the Sacramento and the Wichita back in the day. Happy shooting.
Shipmate, I could not agree with you more! The 75D PCR eats every thing I feed it, feels great in the hand and your review captures it all. I did not change the sights because they work for me and if I can’t see the target I will not shoot. The biggest problem with the PCR is finding one. Having one for years I would not change a thing with this pistol. The initial getting used to the real estate upon racking it is outweighed by its performance. Compared to striker fired pistols it is a senior citizen for sure, but so am I. Last comment, the mags are the best of any made by Mec-Gar. Easy to load and rock solid. Great review Bravo Zulu⚓️🇺🇸
Retired MMCM(SS) here. Nice review and I bought a used one earlier this year. 200 rounds through it so far and really like it. Makes me nervous to see you playing with mags loaded with live ammo in the area while dry firing.
@@keithc9768 well you will notice the magazine was never inserted into the gun while I was dry firing. In fact there was no magazine inserted into the gun during the dry firing, but I can understand your concerns and so a good point, typically that’s not something that I generally do. I guess my being a former gunners mate and gunsmith currently makes me a bit complacent sometimes. Point well taken master chief.
Did you do anything to your guide rod main spring? I recently bought a used pcr and it is great pistol but the slide is a bear to pull. I'm somewhat experienced but haven't seen a slide so hard to rack. Any thoughts? You mentioned yours is easy to rack. Mine looks stock with the plastic guide rod. Thanks and cool review.

The problem is I can’t find a holster for it.
I got mine on Amazon: NT Hybrid IWB Black Carbon Fiber & Leather Holster (Right-Hand, CZ 75 Compact)
Does this weapon have a drop safe feature if you have a loaded chamber and the hammer is in the forward firing position?
yes
I’m getting one. I need something to have on my dirtbike adventures
Probably won’t take to California
Is it hard to rack? I have hand issues
Not too bad for a hammer fired pistol
