Picked up my first CZ ever last week and it is the 75D PCR model. I am in love with this pistol. It looks, feels and shoots great. What a fantastic firearm. Great videos, keep them coming.
I have a leather Right hand, Four Way Multi-Fit IWB & OWB in Stealth Black. Made by company 1791 Model #4 (4WH-4-SBL-R) It's a great match for my CZ 75D. 1791 makes great holsters.
100% on the money. I'll add that I'm a big guy, i have big hands. I found that I struggle with basically all compact models I came across. I'm forced to play with extended magazines and modify the grips and i still don't feel comfortable with it. So much so that I gravitate to carrying a full-size gun, just because I feel more confident with it and my ability to shoot it accurately. Until I found the CZ 75D PCR compact model you reviewed here. Man this feels like it was custom built for me. Excellent size, nice weight ratio, perfect balance, the low borax reduces the recoil significantly, I can go on and on about how great it feels to shoot it. The feeling is mutual, every time I get home from the range I look forward to shoot it again. Really enjoy it and it is my primary EDC! Strongly recommend it! Great video! I'm happy to see it's not just me who's obsessed.
My wife got me the CZ 75 B about 20 years ago & fell in love with its accuracy & kept trying new ones but didn’t love them like the CZ and kept going back to it to now, that’s all I’m buying and selling everything else. If that’s being cult-like well so be it, I just stick to what works. Great content brother, Semper Fi!
Welcome to the party! I have 7 CZs. Three are 40s the rest are 9mm. I've had Sigs and Smiths and Ruger. My 229 feels like a brick in the hand now. Enjoy!
Bought a used P-07 a year ago on a whim. Had not heard of CZ before then. They are like Lay's Potato Chips, you can't have just one. My P-07 has grown to half dozen CVZ with no duplicates. Thinking about putting my PCR in as a winter EDC. Good review
The feature that is so unique an ( exclusive ) to the CZ 75 D Compact is that the ( PCR ) only, has the tactile chamber indicator. This version is a rare find. NO press checking for this Ole' Guy. 👍
Just got my p01 last week and I love it. Broke it in with a 150 rounds and learned how to sight it. Matt's correct, it took me about 25 shots to understand it needed a "12 o clock" hold/sight on the target. Once I figured that out it was on and popping! The double action pull IS HEAVY but manageable and the single action sweet. The gun feels like pure quality through and through and not too heavy or bulky. I'm going to change my grips to the aluminum slim ones for a sleeker feel in my hand and against my body during carry (I carry at 3 o clock on my right hip). I will also black out the back sights and paint the front sights with an orange "glow in the dark" paint. That'll make this handsome gun perfect for me. Pray you like it as much as me and Matt!
Just wondering if anyone told you to carry that decocked? When you put a fresh magazine in and the gun is fully cocked in a safe direction decock the gun. Then put your thumb over the hammer, and place it in the holster. That will give you a lighter first shot double action. And then it will be single action consecutive shots. Carrying it half-cocked is the preferred way to carry...
I have carried my cz pcr for about 6 years, I now mainly carry my springfield hellcat but always go back to the pcr. I installed the CGW defensive carry package myself about 2 years ago and it's night and day difference. You think you like that little pistol now send it to cgw or do the install yourself. It takes about 2 hours if you're moderately skilled. I'm sure they install it in like 25 or 30 minutes but I'm not that good. It's really an amazing pistol. I think after I upgrade the sights I'll probably go back to carrying it most of the time except summer.
Purchased a PCR last week to replace my 365XL. Was considering purchasing one of those metal lowers, and decided to sell the 365XL to fund the PCR. An all metal gun with a de-cocker is > 365 all metal striker fire build.
Great video Matt I liked and subscribed. You gave me a chuckle because although I’m a newbie especially compared to you I started in 2020 and discovered I love shooting and got my concealed care thing. I started mainly with Sigs and I have P355SAS P365XL then the P2022 the M11a1/P229 even a P226 Legion and other guns not just Sig ranging from Springfield to Kimber to S&W even a Dan Wesson Specialist I love but 43 Oz 😅. Meanwhile, people are saying you gotta try CZ. LOL well I did and took it to the range yesterday and fired 150 rounds of cheap ammo not one hiccup. Actually I don’t shoot it as well as I expected or hoped …it fits my hand like it’s custom made. But I’m excited because I know with practice I’ll only get better which I could see as I was shooting. I knew less than zero about CZ but I’m military retired and I saw it online and purchased it through my base exchange. I liked it online but in person this is a beautiful little handgun. It’s flat amazing and it’s lighter than most of my Sigs and dare I say prettier. Anyway you are not alone. 😂 👍
It is for sure the CZ 75 D PCR aluminum frame black beauty that you have. One thing I noticed is online it said 14 round magazines but I discovered at the range I have 2 fifteen round magazines. Nice surprise as if 14 isn’t enough in such a small package 🤷🏻♂️
After years of hearing the same. I purchased a cz75 clone IWI Jericho 2 enhanced full size with polymer frame to save some weight & Money. Totally awesome, shoots and handles like a dream. Super impressed myself.
I have the original version of the Jericho PSL. Best trigger of any production pistol I have tried. I would have preferred a decocker over the manual safety but all in all, it's great.
Hey Matt just stumbled on your channel great content you got a new sub. I was a Glock only guy for years till I shot a cz, just picked up a P01 omega last week and the striker fired stuff is gone but one and traded for a SA 1911 in 9mm I’m hooked on hammer fired stuff now.
Something you touched on that hit home with me: No, the trigger on the CZ is not the best I have felt... however, it doesn't seem to matter when you're shooting it. Being a 'trigger snob' 1911/Apex in my striker gun kinda guy, I'm shocked by this. Whether it's the ergos of the gun, the trigger reach, the geometry of the trigger system, who knows, but I can stroke that CZ trigger and the sights don't move at all, DA or SA. Go figure... If you get a chance, put a few magazines through a CZ 97 .45 ACP.
You are exactly right on PCR model. I just looked at one tonight and on the fence. I'm a wicked 1911 fan and have many. LB, WC, SA in 10mm and 45acp. Have 1 Glock 19 gen 5 and one 686 no dash 4" 357 mag. I carry all of them and was interested in the CZ75D PCR. I hear they are hard to find. Is that true does anyone know. If so I'll grab this one for my collection. Let me know your thoughts thank you
They can be hard to find, but it's nothing a little internet sleuthing can't resolve. It's a sweet shooter and a great size. It's almost identically sized to a G19, but the ergonomics and ease of shooting couldn't be further apart. Get one.
CZs are awesome, i have the same three as you pretty much,G43x, 1911, CZ P01 and a Taurus 38spl. If you love CZ and want something smaller to carry i highly recommend the PCR matt shows here in the video or a P07, owned both, can vouch for both being AMAZING.
@@MicheleBrooks6 get the PCR and don't look back. I like the p07 but the pcr is more svelte/thin and easier to carry, especially if you switch grips for the thin grips. Grab yourself the defensive carry kit from Cajun Gun Workz and this would be your favorite pistol no doubt. It's fast and accurate, no recoil, ergonomic, easy to carry. It's a really incredible pistol. Carried mine for 6 years. I have probably 10k rounds down range and not a single malfunction. Keep in mind the p01 is the same as the pcr and it is one of the only nato certified pistols. The pcr would easily pass but they chose to do it with the railed p01 for army usage. The gun is a tank it will feed anything straight from the factory with no work done to it.
I appreciated your thoughts about the CZ 75 Compact. I am, right now, trying to decide between the Beretta 92X Compact and the CZ 75 D Compact. What are your thoughts?
Have you replaced any of the pins or springs yet? I'm on about 4 years of owning the PCR and have not changed a thing yet. Think I better start thinking about it.

Nice video Matt. Am wondering why you chose 50 yards as the distance for reviewing, given that many people view handguns as more appropriate for shorter range encounters. Or, put differently, do you think your assessment at 50 would hold up at different distances? Thanks.
@@ArmedSteadyFirearmsChannel Or, to put it another way...if you can make great hits are 50 yards, imagine how well a shooter can do at 7 to 10 yards !!
