It depends. Some of the fingerings of sus chords require more fingerings, and stretching your hand across more frets. But other times you actually remove a finger and play open strings. It depends on the chord really. I have never had an issue with most sus chords though. But sus chords aren’t inherently more difficult to play than major or minor chord. I think mojo.com is describing sus chords as more difficult to play because they think sus chords are a more exotic chord than a major or a minor. The use of a sus chord in a song doesn’t mean it’s harder to play. It might be more sophisticated as a song though. But that’s not about technique of guitar playing. That’s about songwriting. Some songs are more sophisticated while others stick to the same basic chords in their structure. And the same with time signatures. Once you know how to count time signatures then it’s not hard to play in those it e signatures. Mojo again is confusing the use of a time signature in a song versus the difficulty of playing in a time Singnature. 4/4 is much more common than 7/8 from a songwriting perspective. Combining difficult and unusual chord shapes with the speed the song has, as well as the difficult right hand pattern all make for an incredibly difficult song to pull off

With all the ridiculous overcensorship now, you sir, are a gem.
Subbed the shit outta this channel.
Even as an extremely novice beginner guitar player I could realise that it sounded like he was just saying shit for the sake of saying shit to sound complicated
FraKctured by King Crimson. Robert Fripp himself says it’s impossible.
They didn't even include Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert, nor Guthrie Govan.
This is basically kinda hard rock songs that are well known
that's how all "tOp SoNgS" are
I uh, am not really into metal and thus know ZERO of his Top 10 suggestions.
@@israeldelarosa5461 tsk tsk
10:00 I cracked up when he said "it's like skipping rope on a trampoline while riding a horse". Seriously? 🤣
Our band actually covers This Charming Man, and the ONLY slight bump in difficulty is the time signature on the intro. Tab probably has it in 8/8 with a rest on 1, but what you hear sounds more like 15/8. So...if you can count to 15, you can play it.
I wouldn’t call Metallica, Dream Theater, Dragonforce, Animals as Leaders & Megadeth rock though! It’s more like metal actually
Considering metal falls under the larger "rock" umbrella i can grant them this.
Metal is subgenre of rock (surely, with many sub-subgenres) that frequently does not even strain as much from original rock'n'roll conventions as, say, zeuhl or krautrock.
It's all the same to shallow corporate boomers. Loud guitar.
@@ksquidplaysminecraft Pretty sure they're shallow corporate X/Y-gen ignorants.
@@ivanhozjan7137 Metal is just about much sub-genre of Rock as Jazz is sub-genre of March music.
3:22 but Mike the narrator is clearly saying that it DOES NOT matter how emotive or majestic the solo is and they show Gilmore because his solos are generally described as that.
He just wanted to rip on Gilmour to make me sad 😢
I've never seen someone this upset about a Watchmojo video in my life
I'm gonna need a "treMoLo picking" sound bite to play all the time
"treMoLo" sounds like some Italian candy
Rosetta Stoned by tool was the bane of my existence for months.....
Fair point. I was gonna say Octavarium too. Not technically the most difficult but god damn does that song take some consistency to pull till the end. Even getting slightly impatient can cause you to fuck up near the end and ruin it.
"Tendinitis by Jason Richardson. A human being should not be able to play this."
You are not wrong good sir
I honestly don’t think that the people who came up with that list took it as seriously as you did. But there are people out there who would believe it. Thank you for pointing out there are harder songs. You should air a stream of you playing them all note for note
When you said "Little Wing" I thought you said "Lil Wayne".
It has nothing to do with the video, but yesterday I watched your Separate Ways parody video. The best 4 minutes and 38 seconds I've had this year
When they said "Little Wing" at first I thought they said "Lil Wayne" 😂
Damn, I found some new bands to check out with your list at the end there.
So basically it’s songs that are harder to play than they sound, songs that sound hard and popular songs
There is something charming about Mike just ranting.
How's the wording given change it? 4:39 what does "writing" mean here?

Metallica’s hardest song is quite easily off justice, it’s probably between dyer’s Eve and the title track.
Nah the title track is prolly the easiest (with shortest straw, at least riff wise)
@@demianstohr2422 I’m talking personally, I found it pretty difficult mostly because it’s a ten minute long track. Although the eyes of the beholder is probably up there too. Altogether justice is a super difficult album for a variety of reasons.
@@demianstohr2422 difficulty varies from person to person. For example Jump In the Fire I learned that song in under 30 minutes (minus the solo). The other guitarist in the band struggled with the rythm for days. Same guy couldn't do the galloping part of damage inc. I didn't have any problems with the 16th note triplets and chords in damage inc.
@@demianstohr2422 I struggled with phantom lord while Jeff got it almost immediately.
Nobody gonna talk about fight fire with fire?
Lmfao “TreMOLO picking” 😂😂😂

“Watch Mojo content is for low information consumers”
Become The Knight 2021
"Our picks" for the top 10 hardest. That's their disclaimer.
Yeah but when it's about an instrument that you don't even play it pretty much means nothing lmao
"Trimowlow picking and pinch harmonies" and dance of eternity on 6 had me crying
All I can say aside from that WatchMojo makes terrible lists is thank you Mike for introducing me to so many great artists at the end of the video. I stopped and listened to every single song you mentioned as they came up and ended loving most of them.
Man I LOVE that you just give your opinion without fear. 🤘🔥
On their Top Ten hardest instruments list, the had organ ranked lower than piano. I haven’t taken their music lists seriously ever since
I find it funny that Mike isn’t really a nirvana fan, but deadass is starting to look like Kurt Cobain 😂
Lmao what? Looks nothing like him
Hide the shotgun from his girl
He wishes.
Fucking love you dude.. laughed heaps and you remind me alot of myself with general conversations had with people who don't know shit about music.
Tim Henson’s God Hand. Tosin taught him how to thump and it looks incredibly difficult.
Someone should make a list of the hardest songs to sing and play at the same time, but that award probably goes to josh homme
