Stevie counts down the most difficult songs to play on guitar, if you have small fingers! Are there any songs with long stretches that I missed? Comment them below!
The funniest thing about this video is Stevie pretending to have difficulty playing these songs
it is not hard for him at all, but it could be somewhat hurtful even tho he is a professional
Im sure he had his fun trying to get these riffs down beforehand
Ooooooh..... the ego has landed. Again.
Funniest thing is, he is struggling.. Thees streches are idiotic.. No normal person should be able to do thees perfectly..
He couldn't play the Allan Holdsworth riff in time, pretty sure he had legitimate trouble playing it.
Maybe Dave Mustaine creates stretchy riffs to prevent Metallica from playing his songs
Sensei J lmao
hahahahahaha!!!
Dave still butthurting from metallica,
Also playing hard ass riffs doesnt mean its a perfect song, too many simple songs are 10x times better, metalheads and metal artists has to know that
Yup, hard-ass riffs and solos don't mean the song is better. However, using hard-ass techniques gives you a wider choice, letting the song sound exactly as the artist wants it to. Plus, song sounds more original. Lastly, if I had to choose between a song with a guitar solo (difficult) and a song without solo (or some easy Seven Nation Army solo), i would definetly choose the difficult one. Difficult riffs often do sound better.
Seen Megadeth live (with Kiko), their guitar skills are just mindblowing ...
Every stretch you take
Every ligament you break
Every string you play
Every fret you take
I’ll be killing you
😂😂😂
Should have said every fret you play
Song: every strech you take
Band: the ligament braker
🤣🤣🤣
lol
Plot twist:
Their guitars are smaller than yours.
Yeah I thought Paul Gilbert always played on short-scale guitars, but his Flying V seems full-size. Also I believe 24 frets do change the neck scale and makes some stretches much harder.
@@Cyclobomber actually It makes them easier.
@@lakejizzio7777 Really? Must depend on the scale then, because on long scale necks I can't really do it.
@@Cyclobomber yeah. If you have a 24 fret guitar same scale as a 22 it becomes easier but at the and of the day everything ends with scale.
@@lakejizzio7777 Oh yes if it's a medium/short scale you're completely right, I was thinking of a full-scale 24.
That's nothing, I can stretch from fret zero to fret 24.

Buckethead can stretch from 1st to 24th fret easy
He's like 6'6" so he has massive hands. He has a song called "Taxidermy Loaf" where there's a chord that stretches from the 1st to the 6th fret. I have big hands and can stretch pretty far but that chord in particular is ridiculous.
Jonathan Sefcik 30 years ago Buckethead entered a guitar contest, Guitarist sent their cassette tapes from everywhere. Buckethead played bed time music (jingles for childeren) He did not win although he was second place . The guy who won the contest was from Japan. What the judges did no't know was the fact that Buckethead played both guitar parts at the same time once. From what I heard the only reason buckethead didn't win was because the judges thought he over dubbed..
Danny Hood thats fucking crazy, I did not know that but it makes sense

Nick Jonas can too

I'm learning that solos right now. Or at least attempting to. I can't even get to the 17th fret. My hand at full painful extension barely makes it to the 15th fret
Try playing a fingerstyle piece smoothly with a stretched bass and melody note, so difficult with small hands.
@@kenz2756 ahè
Play the tornado of souls solo lick as a tapping lick on the b string, it’s much easier
Dave mustaine throwing out some classical thumb position knowledge. NICE.

You are not trying hard enough, obviously Lil Wayne solo is the most difficult to play.

Lil Wayne's solo was plagiarized from Local H's solo in "Bound for the floor"
That’s because lil Wayne doesn’t no shit about how to play guitar or even how to hold it properly...

3:32 you really missed a good opportunity there .... "every stretch you take , makes my fingers ache , they could even break , make no mistake.... they are hurting me" 😆
The title of this vid should be "The Importance of the Pinky".
Yes... hell some chords are just impossible without it... 1 barred and 3 pressed down
Larry Mar it took me forever to include my pinky in bar chords. Lol good luck to me in trying to include in a solo. But then again I’m more of a rhythm player
@@MikeyVonSwank13 besides paying rhythm is a lot better!
I started out using my pinky all the time bc i have small hands so whenever i hear someone say they have to use their pinky i just turn my head in ahh and ask wait you don't use your pinky
(and of the thumb) 😂😂
Paul Gilbert's fingers are freaking lllloooonnnggggggg
Well, he is 6’4 in person.😉😂
Andy Summers is underrated as a guitarist, so many awesome riffs. Message in a bottle. BRING ON THE NIGHT ..
"His hand looks like some sort of crustacean..." LMAO
tak178 yes, i can confirm this was in the video
I have small hands, but I play the balalaika so it doesn't get in my way. You should try to shred on the balalaika. It has strings so...(It deserves to be shredded upon)
Cassandra Jeffers how about balalaika bass, which is huge? guitar frets would seem peace of cake after that lol
Roman Mubarakshin I would LOVE to have a contra bass balalaika! They sound awesome. Right now I have a prima balalaika.
Roman Mubarakshin but yeah, they'd be a piece of cake after the contra bass
Balalayka rules.with distortion.Hi from Saint-Petersburg!)
Try checking out Rob Scallon’s video on it. It’s pretty nice but not exactly shredding.
I’ve struggled with the gothic octave by George Lynch. My fingers are not quite long enough so I had to alter it and make it into a tapping lick. George Lynch is a freakishly good guitarist so it’s really hard to play some of his licks and solos but studying them will definitely take your skill to a whole new level.
Good? He's a monster. He had it all..speed, feel, phrasing..and that vibrato. And his tone was just different one note from him and you go like ..yea ..that's definitely lynch.
@@anisamalik7842 I agree, BUT what about Fret 12 to 24?
His riff writing and soloing is incredible, he’s definitely one of my biggest inspirations as a guitarist
@@differentlensesThat one and Head Crusher, as soon as I saw the stretching I said "f**k that, I'm tapping that thang to death". 12 to 24th, nope.

Sean Roods 😂😂
Sean Roods I feel you 100%
Sean Roods That's crazy I can barely stretch to the 20th fret
You can use herman lee's technique that he used in through fire and flames intro riff(after the clean)
Just tap it its way easier and doesnt sound that different
Now try that on a bass... that´s the true pain
Francisco Santos that's cause each fret has its own zip code lol
Bassists UNITE!
Daniel Bryson HELL YEAH!!! I have tiny little girl hands and an Ibanez soundgear...I couldn't do the Washburn or Havoc if I wanted too...my soundgear has tiny frets so I can reach 1-6 if I need to...small hands suck
PJ Beckley they're good basses, I have one too! 🎸 I liked how it played, but I think I've got average hands. Stretches usually aren't too bad but I've come across several learning RHCP songs. Flea, you're killing me, Smalls!
Daniel Bryson Flea and Timmy C...and occasionally even Paul Gray and Johnny Christ
I struggled with that Dokken solo when I was a teenager. Stevie's description was spot on: it's not so much the stretch, it's the pulloffs at the insane speed George is doing them that makes it such an asskicker.
Lynch is so underrated
That’s why I play rhythm.
Jake 😂 this comment😂
Jake
Yeah...well i'm lead...and i don't know what to do :V
Though half of this was rhythm and chords ;_;
Doesn’t really make sense since most though stretches involve chords.

I haven't even started to watch the video, but I expect Megadeth to be mentioned here!!
*EDIT*

Ilir Piliki same
Dave Mustaine has spider fingers
My initial thought was "I bet washington is next is on here with that crazy thumb stretch". Even with longer fingers that is so hard to play.

Dave writes awesome riffs though
His early riffs and solos are very intense and frenetic at times.
Salad fingers is the lovechild of Buckethead and Paul Gilbert's fingers

Colorado Bulldog is legitimately hard to reach when standing up, even with large hands. Brutal.
It should've been number 1 on the list tbh
@@christopher4443 yeah. Dave's thumb play isn't harder than Polorado bulldog. Paul should be on top of the list. He has the longest fingers. Even yngwie can't reach as long as paul can.

That ending was a bit of a stretch.

Paul Gilbert's pinky tho...that thing along can stretch from 12th to 24th efortlessly
Kike1787 Paul gilbert's ring finger is longer than my short ass asian stature
bigger than my asian sized dick too!
Jason Becker in one instructional video, stretches from 5 to 17 fret, Jason the best

Jonathan Sandoval Paul Gilbert made music in the 80s so there's a lot
Paul Gilbert has mile long fingers...
And a pinky that appears to dislocate itself and still have the strength to crush your soul.

Death by the stretch finger 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey Stevie,
I’m not sure if other guitarists count this as a big stretch but in Ozzy Osbourne’s Bark at the Moon right at the end of the opening riff you have to bar the tenth fret on the b and g strings with your fourth finger while you’re playing the fifth fret on the d string with your first finger.
*fret
That's more of a jump than a stretch
“Let’s play some Lamb of Jesus”.
Anthony Aaron can confirm. That riff sucks with small fingers.
I find it easy even if I have little fingers... All the others riffs are indeed stretchy though
Edit: nvm I play it differently lol
Anthony Aaron Epic!!! 😂
Actualy there is a fingerstyle version of bohemian rhapsody where you have to play a G chord that goes from 3E to 10e
Gotta throw it in the trash then. Wtf is that stretch? It's in thumb chord territory
"Ligament Shift!" New band name!
Prog metal band name right there.
Death metal?
In my opinion, one of the most hardest so gs to play with small hands is My Way by Limp Bizkit, like, Wes Borland did some weird chords in the chorus part, and there is a part where he streches his finger from fret 2-A to 5-D and 7-G and goeas all the way to the frets 10-12 and 14 following the same pattern but changes the string he playes on with that pattern, Limp Bizkit is pretty underrated
Dave Mustaine walk pass me at a show I was working at. He looked reel pissed at the world. It was pretty metal.
MyQUILLEN that's Dave!
I think Eddie Van Halen has gone even harder with the lick in "Ice Cream Man"
Periphery - Marigold, the main riff.
Just check the playthrough or their lesson videos, it will be self-explanatory.
The Liberation Mark Holcombs finger length makes me unnaturally angry
Allan Holdsworth! Yesss the man. Respect to you for playing some too.
Holdsworth is miles beyond anyone technically and musically on electric guitar. It is subjective what you enjoy more of course.
what about the hardest solos to play with your feet
Smoke on the water
If you were talking about drum solos, Craig, this would make sense.
_Especially_ if you're Rick Allen. I still don't know how he does it.
What? It's true. Rick Allen is a boss.
These solos are really easy. You just have to dislocate 4 of your fingers at the knuckle
Ryan Carter do a video then, give it a try
I think I laughed a little too much at this

And then there's me who can barely reach 3 frets
》 b e l l a 《 I understand your pain
Is it even possible to have so small fingers (or simply having such a terrible stretching) that you can only reach 3 frets? I mean, when I was in acoustic guitar lessons, my teacher taught me some finger control exercises, all of them needed me to put each finger of my left hand in each one of the first four frets, with the possibility of putting my pinky in the fifth if needed. I could complete them without pain or any uncomfortable feeling, so I know I can stretch to five frets. And I have really small hands as well (not to mention I'm not even tall, 5' 7" and matching hands, yet I still reach five frets)
@@branlopgar wtf I guess my fingers are abnormal?
@@bri613 Probably. Because, in theory, the minimal stretch anyone should have is four frets (one finger of your left hand in each fret). Reaching a fifth fret this way is not comfortable, but should not be painful. And, again, I also have little girl hands.
