He does incredibly well for a 50 year old guy in 1990 who's looked like death warmed over since 1970. "Steel Wheels" was released in 1989 and it was excellent. I don't know how they keep making good music.

He did play the guitar in his sleep, actually. Remember the story about "Satisfaction"? He came up with the riff one night, turned on his tape recorder and played it. Then he woke up the next morning with a tape that had about 3 seconds of the riff and about an hour or snoring.

I totally agree. His live playing on this tour was sublime Keith at it's best. There's no one and I mean no one else who can be so damm loose and tight with the band at the same time while leading the way rhythmically. When he's in that zone it's a phenomenon unto itself.

Bill Wyman is such an underrated bass player. He and Charlie were the perfect rhythm section.
Those two supplied the sanity to the stage, so the others could go off leash.
