Oh my word. Dillon is so gorgeous! Those eyes! He looked so relaxed when you were trimming him! Deirdre Barlow neck - LOL! Maybe there should be an official “Hug a Nun” day 😄 xx
He really did love the attention, Lynne. Yeah, the boat is really going to starting changing over the next few weeks. Thanks for the lovely comment :) x
Another great vlog, thank you. Anything with muff jokes (and it took 22 episodes for us to get there!) and hugging of nuns will get my 'like'! The bloopers are wonderful, well done for showing them.
I started following you guys after I saw you on Martin Zeros channel. Still got heaps of videos to watch, I can see now where the cost comes in to build one of these, well done on taking the challenge.
Dillon’s gorgeous little face when the trimmer was switched on was a picture! Shaun I think your dog grooming career was short-lived lol! Colin you did a good job! I wouldn’t have had the nerve. I LOVED the bloopers! You both make me properly laugh out loud. Thank you x
Well done on the dog clipping - we thought about it with our two fox terriers but chickened out. However a lovely lady moored near us does clip her own dogs and offered to clip Ted, who looked more like a fluffy teddy bear. Cute to look at, but too hot for him. She was very gentle, took over an hour (with tea breaks) and he loved every minute! Anyway, we enjoy watching your videos, (especially the bloopers) and look forward to watching the rest of the fit-out ! Love you two, too!!
I am loving this. I know I have seen it already done but love the steps and seeing it progress. I can't believe you let Shaun cut your hair. Poor Dillion. 🤣😂🤣😂
I flipping love these vlogs! You guys are just brilliant ☺️. I’ve never had any desire to know about narrow boats but now, I’m loving learning about SilverFox and all the gubbins that goes into it 🙌! Xx
I went looking for these early vlogs, and stayed up late lastnight watching them. You have the most beautiful boat on the canal, and it's very cool to watch it being made!
Been put on to your videos from a friend of a friend as I'm desperate to live on a boat & I've spent the last 3.5 hours watching all these up to this one. They're great & makes me want a boat so much more. Hope my dream comes true. 🤞
Dylan/Dillon is going to find those clippers and do your hair in the middle of the night!!! Loving how the boat is coming on xx Wish you could send the rain to Australia.
Ha ha... Thanks, Kate, he loved it :-) It's the first proper rain we've had this summer. Lots of the canals are closed due to very low water levels. Hope you get some rain soon! x
Really nice and even spray job done on the insulation, absolutely smashing craftsmanship, you guys really did your research and found an excellent company to fit out your boat, so so proud of you both
Just as well the guys from Bickerstaffe trimmed the excess spray foam off before Sean had a chance to get to it with those clippers🤣🤣 Poor Dillon. Glad it's all going well. Love the bloopers as ever. Graham xx
Great vlog again guys, boats progressing nicely. For me it's like seeing my boat being constructed as well, so thanks for that. I can see all the same parts that are now put together on my boat and how they were made from scratch. You introduced Rob and Ryan, but Ryan is better known as Tyrone lookalike from coronation street ♥️♥️ regards Mark and Zac xx
Wow, the interior is progressing well. Those Bickerstaff guys certainly tackle things in a systematic way don’t they? Bet this is going to be a great build, with all your requirements? It’s going to look great, following your updates with interest. Enjoy the new boat build guys. 👍
Colin & Shaun, a chicken and egg question? What is the plan should your new boat be completed before your house is sold? I only ask this question due to the speed of the project, and know how the property market can vary tremendously. Would you have to “acquire” an amount to bridge the financial cost?
Dare I say ‘Should have gone to Specsavers’ Lol , Dillon seemed happy with his new haircut 😀 looking forward to your next vlogs , hoping to pick up some build tips
hi lads great to see your boat is on its way thats fab, looking forward to seeing your next blog already. your guys do make me laugh love the muck up bits. keep it up.
The breather on the water tank is so you can fill and empty it. Water in pushes the air out through the breather and allows air in when water goes out through taps etc. Otherwise you’d just get an air lock. Looking forward to seeing the boat progress
Great stuff, the build seems to be coming along really quickly. I always thought that spray foam stuff was a bit more "squishy" too. Bloopers hilarious as usual :-)
Shaun your banned !!! poor Dylan hes so cute .. Colin not bad for first attempt well done !.. practice makes perfect but just dont cut his nails to short !! .. well done xx
Cheers Colin! Dog grooming is definitely not my talent! At least Dillon came through it in one piece 😂 Yeah, the boat is really going to start coming on now (excited). xx
Foxes Afloat well excited for you both. Can’t believe how quickly it’s taken shape. Aintree boats turned it around so quickly. Can’t wait to see it finished. Getting lots of ideas from so many sources. Happy days. Brilliant link to the house, that made me chuckle x
Hi Guys Looking good, I have watched 'most' of all your videos, and I can't really see. Why Aintree Boats? I am looking at buying as Sailaway, and Aintree Boats is on my list. But what clinched it for you Guys? GL HF
was that fitted standerd or did you upgrade to it, I been looking at their website, and their Sailaways are listed as having Beta Marine engines fitted. I have been looking at boat stuff for weeks, months now. And I am still nun the wizer, as to what is good, bad or average
We didn't buy the sailaway from Aintree. Our boat is being fitted by Bickerstaffe Boats. They buy the empty shells and fit them out from scratch. That's why ours is not a standard Aintree shell :)
Have you tried cutting Dillons claws ? my Rufus won't let me near them so he gets pampered with a cut, wash and nail trim twice a year at a local dog groomer £25 all in. Another great vlog, good to see they cleaned off the batons.
Hi David. Yeah, we have some professional cutters for his claws. He’s pretty chilled with me when it comes to washing/clipping/cutting. Thanks for another lovely comment. Always appreciated 👍🏻
I had to clip my Cocker Stella during the covid crap, (May 2020) and found it easier to put her up on a table so it's not so hard on your back. I don't know how people do it for a living. My god, I had hair everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Even the worst haircut will look ok in a couple of weeks so what the heck.
A message for "Patchy Dillon"....(Bless him), What did your dad Sean do to you, don't worry lad it'll grow back, get your Dads to take you to a groomers next time !! Great vlog guys.. Regards Steve
Great stuff. Incidentally I really like Sean’s sweater. What label is it? I want one. Must be a designer label or my husband won’t buy me it 😂. I really like your vlogs. You remind me of me and my husband. Me as Sean and My husband as yourself. We also have a dog called Oscar who is a beagle.
Well done guys, the bloopers almost took as long as the final real stuff LOL Now, Shaun, speaking seriously, you have such a lovely voice, really lovely tone, can you please shut Colin up for a bit and have a shot at this narration stuff yourself? I am not sure just how to shut him up, put some cake in his gob, or better yet, a foot-long eclair (about the length of a baby's arm), that should work. Poor Dillon. Why did you do that Shaun? Poor thing. ;) My Dad was a self-taught barber on HMAS Australia II through the WW2 years as well as running a Barbershop later in life. I bet Dillon was right as rain within a few weeks. Anyway, good to see the progress of the boat with the foaming. Back to catching up on your early clips.

I can not believe how cooperative Dillon is for the grooming. I had a Cocker and he hated his haircuts. Good job to both of you 👍
Such a good boy x
As a Tradesman, Thank You for showing my Brothers.
👍👍👍👍
Nice touch to introduce the guys working on your boat. Looking good 👌
Cheers, Colm. 👍🏻
AND YOU LET SHAUN CLIP YOUR HAIR DURING LOCK DOWN!!!!!!!!!! LOL LOVE you both ,and Dillon too.XPXOX

Ha ha! 'Hug a Nun Day'. Got to happen! xxx
You lads crack me up. Half a video of bloopers and you had me in tears at the end.🤣
🤣
Great to see the team of craftsmen (artists!) who built Silver Fox. I'm really enjoying these build videos. Thanks!
Our pleasure!
Poor Dillon, but he looked so relaxed and loving it all. Boats looking good so far, ❤️❤️
He really did love the attention, Lynne. Yeah, the boat is really going to starting changing over the next few weeks. Thanks for the lovely comment :) x

Thank you, Mandy! More bloopers packed into this one than actual footage :-D xxxxx
Looking Good already fellas, nice to meet some of the team behind the scenes fitting out the narrowboat. Top job on Dillon the Dog.
Thank you 🙏🏻
I LOVE that you share the bloopers, because we take so many tries to get a good take. It’s comforting to know we’re not the only ones!
👍🏻😂
Poor pup! Nice to meet the Bickerstaff staff. I am so happy for you both. Great job with the videos!
Thank you, Erica! Dillon loved every second of it :) Thanks for the kind comment :) x

I am loving this. I know I have seen it already done but love the steps and seeing it progress. I can't believe you let Shaun cut your hair. Poor Dillion. 🤣😂🤣😂

I’m eating a fruit salad. After “Shandy Green” there’s a grape hiding somewhere in our living room after I spat it out laughing 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ain't no party like a spray foam party.......
So excited for you all xx
Ha ha.. S Club 4Ever! xx
Dillon looked so patient, not a care in the world....
Insulation looked fab, and as for all the wood, wow!
Yeah, it’s good 👍🏻
Almost more bloopers than content!
Poor old Dillon. He seemed quite chilled about it though.
Keep up the good work chaps😊
You’re almost right, Andy. Shaun just couldn’t get his lines out 😂

Not a multi-tool? LMAO! Ha ha... He's very talented :) x

David Minton We have a couple of options, but we don’t plan on moving onto the boat before Christmas anyway.
Dare I say ‘Should have gone to Specsavers’ Lol , Dillon seemed happy with his new haircut 😀 looking forward to your next vlogs , hoping to pick up some build tips

Nice one guys , Lovely muuff .
Ha ha! Muffs and bungs for everybody this Christmas 😂
Fantastic edit as always!
Dropped a link in for you at 5'20" ;-) xx
Foxes Afloat 😘
You did well grooming Dillion, I have had to groom my yorkie Dilys and Schnauzer Archie and it is not easy.
Haha! Scary the first couple of times 😂
hi lads great to see your boat is on its way thats fab, looking forward to seeing your next blog already. your guys do make me laugh love the muck up bits. keep it up.
Hey Ray 👋🏻

Brilliant so excited can’t wait. Fridays don’t come quick enough for Jill and me. Thank you so much. Xxxx
You are so welcome!
I tell you what I think..... I think Bickerstaffe have done this before..... its looking too good for a one-off 😂
Ah, this was. their 12th or 13th, maybe 15th...?
The breather on the water tank is so you can fill and empty it. Water in pushes the air out through the breather and allows air in when water goes out through taps etc. Otherwise you’d just get an air lock. Looking forward to seeing the boat progress

Thank you, Lesley! 👍🏻
Well after that clipping (shearing) we can now see who is the best looking out of the 3 of you
He always was! x
Hi thank you for letting me know no insulation under floor cheers 😀😀👍👍
No problem Paul x
great vid boys keep em coming
Thank you, Mark. We’ll try our best 👍🏻
Exciting! Wish 1 person could handle a narrow boat. I would do this so fast! I am hooked!
There are lots of solo narrow boaters out there 👍🏻
@@FoxesAfloat how do they navigate the locks?
Slowly and carefully. It just takes longer. Swing bridges are more tricky, but are doable.
I love these building clogs. Courtenay
Thank you!
😂🤣 brilliant again!
Thank you, Marie. It’s always great to hear feedback from you 👍🏻
Hi guys do they foam the void under the floor to insulate the hull from the cold water and general cold 😀😀
Hi Paul.
No the floor has no insulation. That space is used for a couple of tone of ballast 👍
Shaun your banned !!! poor Dylan hes so cute .. Colin not bad for first attempt well done !.. practice makes perfect but just dont cut his nails to short !! .. well done xx
Thanks, Alison! 💜
Great. Now I have to get a narrow boat too 🤣 love the vids
Oh my, poor Dillon 😂
He was fine 😂
I wouldn’t offer dog grooming as a service 😉 boat is looking a bit good though. Credit to the bickerstaff team. Flipping marvellous

Oh, jeez no! Shun's not allowed near the clippers anymore 😂
Dillon is (was) so sweet 🥹

I am looking at buying as Sailaway, and Aintree Boats is on my list. But what clinched it for you Guys?

Hi! We tried a lot of boat shells and in our experience Aintree swam as well, if not better, than some of the more expensive ones.
What motor, did you go with... the Beta?
Fiddling with my Whistle We’re having a Vetus 42hp

Hey Steve, ha ha! Shaun is now banned from the clippers! 😂
does your tank have an over flow or will you fill and trust the gauges.
The water tank has an overflow, the diesel tank doesn't, but the nozzle stops fuel when it senses it's at the top (hopefully 😆). xxxx
Thanks, I was referring to the water tank shown in this video. @@FoxesAfloat
Who keeps giving you the thumbs down? Are they completely deranged?
We have a small but loyal band of haters. We don't mind, it keeps the figures from looking too good 🤣👍🏻

Braver than me, in clipping Dillon, he looks handsome even with the thin patches lol
😅
Don't you just love the smell of closed cell foam in the morning?
Strangely enough Tony... No 🤣
Hi can you recommend a spray foam insulation company..? Thanks
We genuinely don't know any! This was done by the boat builder.
Poor Dillon 😂
Try putting the dogs on a table when you're cutting them much easier
Nice first try Shaun, better next time maybe one patch. lol
Next time!

how much does it cost to get your boat spray foamed
It was included in the price of the build

that is because he thinks it's all a game and because he loves you LOL ... just don't give him a mirror, the look on his face was pricless.
The spray foam is looking good but seems to be rather thin.
It’s actually the exact industry standard. What are you comparing it to?
@@FoxesAfloat Hello, I just saw that it seems rather thin around some of the side openings and not level with the battens practically anywhere
@@Fur8002 Hi Colin. It might just be the way it looks on the video. The thinnest measurements are 25mm. The foam we've used isn't supposed to be very thickly applied like a lot of the early types. Its relevance is to the density. Also, the reason it's not level with every batten is because of the steel supports. We had a good check after it was done and we're happy with its application and depth :) Thanks for asking though. We appreciate it when people spot possible issues :)
