Mack’s engines have been painted red for a few years now. It’s probably a Mack MP8. I’m not aware of Cummins being an option for them aside from natural gas engines.
Could be a cummins under that hood. Maybe it was ordered like that? Our Mack concrete pumps at work all have mack engines in them and the newer one, which is a 2016, has a red engine. But it is a mack engine. Not sure on the liter size, I don't run that machine. Two have the maxxitorque trans and the third has an eaton. Makes me wonder if thats how that dump was spec'd
Justin. You are a very smart young man. Old is better than new for sure. 2007 is my cut off unless it's a glider . I love your truck hunting. I run in Michigan but up state New York has us bet for rust damage to a truck . Have a great week.
You can get any engine, transmission, rear end combo in a mack that you want, or used to be able to. A gold bulldog on the hood means 100% mack. I drove a 79 with a 12v92, 10 speed, and a heavy mack top loader walking beam rears.
My dads 22 389 loaded Options was 185k. The one he is getting in the fall is 285k same spec. Prob not taking delivery of it. My 18 389 glider with a 550 cat reman was 173k out the door.
I run a carrier in the Carolina's. Couldn't imagine having a truck sitting because of paint. I must be hauling the wrong type of freight... congats to you finding the Goldilocks niche.
Bottom line is overhead versus total income each year doesn't matter if you replace one truck you still got a whole Fleet to maintain. Then you got normal wear and tear items, preventive maintenance items. Registrations, insurance, taxes, especially New York. Pretty much paying the upkeep for New York City. I grew up in Freeville, my dad told me all about it growing up. Don't worry I'm not up there anymore. Well thanks for this later.
05:36 nice hä that fuel-eco on the newer curbsniffers... it barely uses fuel that's correct cos it's in the garage alot. XD Im glad you decided to go back to the old, it has to work to earn money and get the best revenue. Wise choise!
Learned something from your video. Did not know Mack put Cummins in there trucks. Sure looked like one. Your trucks look great. Like pre-emmision also. Thanks for the video, Justin.
I've only seen Mack trucks with cummins engines on certain applications like roll off trucks, but have not seen a regular class 8 semi with a cummins, only the Mack MP8 which is the same as the Volvo D13
Great info like always sir Justin, also, that’s a great truck that you’re letting go. Just by watching your channel and seeing the effort of quality and the quality of work your guys put in the equipment is priceless. Keep the great content flowing. 💯💯
our company had nothing but trouble from the kw 660s but the macks seem to be hard chargers' think the frieghtliners are junk and the automatic transmission in them isn't as smooth as the MDRIVE MACK
Not cummins there now owned by Volvo engine mp7 or mp8 there ok now !!! I heard from someone who I'd an (outlaw) lol the only way to get them to run right is to accidentally have the emissions restricted exhaust fall off and then they run really good and most of the related problems go away mysteriously
that black loom will eat thru that silcone hose soon, very bad idea, you can put it on black hose but still a bad idea the shaking and air movement will cut that hose also,
I just bought my first truck and it's a 2008 Kenworth wl 900 with a 18 speed it's got 1.6 million miles on and just had a rebuild last week and its going to need a new clutch soon I will be hauling step deck for the company I was driving for as a company driver and its great I picked up my trailer today and leaving tomorrow
The mack mp8 is red. it's also basically the same as a volvo d13. Makes sense since volvo is the parent company. If you're gonna buy a new mack, save yourself 30k and just buy a volvo. Their the same. That w9 looks nice, same sleeper that's on my t800. My big ass doesnt fit back there, just for storage. Emissions do suck, i got smogged at the Connecticut scales on i 84 last Thursday in an 09 t800 with emissions and 950k on a cat c13. Surprisingly, it passed. Allowed 40 ppm, and she only put out 2.6. Dont really know how that happened if you've ever seen how much crap comes out of the stacks when she goes thru a regen burnout. Holy hell, you lose the trailer in the mirrors for a half mile.😂😂😂😂
i think its so interesting to sit back & watch this whole truck/emissions & regulations thing because to me it looks like for every step they think there moving forward they end up 3 steps farther behind & they're trying to see how expensive & complicated they can make it & quality just keeps going downhill . maybe instead of spending billions of dollars on emissions over a couple decades , that time & money should rather be foced on other things that harm the environment more than truck exhaust emissions & besides , putting all kinds of emissions on an engine actually does the engine & the environment more harm than good 🤷♂️ . but anyways , like to see what you got going on & what you got to say , so far our fleet is small enuff we dont buy anything newer than 2000 but it does take some time & money to fix these older trucks up because you cant just walk out & buy a good running 23+ year old truck every day . everybody needs to do what works best for them & somtimes you just gotta do what you gotta do & thats gonna be different for every body .
You know what they say " chrome won't get you home, but damn I'll look good sitting on the side of the road"..😂😂 Yup no more emissions for us also, was bidding on a w9 daycare but let it go now looking at another one...be dmsafe brother..
Smh.... either your not thst bright or you don't recall when a 3 axle truck like these use to cost 100k max for c15 18 speed. W.e. rears you wanted. Or come farming n look at the new combines thst cost a million just for the machine not to mention a Corn head and bean head... 1.4 later.i look at farm equipment thats new now and see what i Might be running in 10-15 years down the road. shits outrageous. I was born in the wrong era
Yea and no when you can buy a older truck for half if not less then 300k and make the same money plus if it goes down usually easy and quick fix don't need a dealership to run a code or do this or that...with that said it's a better investment to just buy older and make the same

Most likely that was an MP 7 or 8 Mack’s Volvo/Mack motor
Anything that new is probably a Mack MP 7or8. I haven’t seen Cummins offered in years
Mack motors are also red.
No Justin that is a mp8 that Mack builds
Oh yeah, I forgot to inform you that Mack/Volvo paint is a totally different red, you should've looked closer to the engine.
Invest in drive through wash for trucks
