@paul edwards: i dont think its going to happen soon; for the reason of crop factor. an aps-c sensor will need 800 mm or 80 cm of length to reach 1200 mm full-frame. thats 20 cm less than 1 meter at full telephoto. you dont want to carry that. and dont forget the other factors like cost, quality, weight and more.

The P510 that I have and the P520 had the move-able screens. On the P520 they removed the switch button that changes from the LCD display and viewfinder. The P530 the LCD screen is fixed.

I use my iPhone 5 as a camera and was hoping that maybe you can give me some tips on what to do with cameras and maybe if I should get this as a starter camera since it seems simple and inexpensive. These days most cameras come with a cable to connect your camera to your computer. If not, they're pretty cheap at most electronics stores. Hope that helps!

I really want a camera that is good quality for video recording events with my family like birthday party's, thanksgiving dinners ext. And i want it to have good quality for pictures. A quality where you can tell it wasn't taken on a phone. Is this camera good for what i want?
Souvik Sarkar depends on your perception. Some say zoomed out because the lens protrudes more to see far off images but others say zoomed in because you focus in on far off images. But yes, essentially.
The camera is wi-fi compliant but doesn't have built in wi-fi. So, you'll need a WU-1A adapter that's sold separately. But if you really don't feel the need for it, I would suggest to wait for a while. Hopefully the prices on the adapter would come down soon. I also have P530 but I'm waiting for the prices of adapter to come down which is currently sold for almost $105 which seems to be overpriced for the purpose it serves.
ktn185 Just got the p530 and the WiFi adapter (WU-1a). When the adapter is plugged in, the camera powers up but I cant access anything--blank monitor screen. iPhone connects to Nikon WiFi, but camera is powered up yet looks dead. Any suggestions?
I have a few questions about recording video. While recording does the zoom lens makes alot noise that the mic will pick up? How long can it record videos? ( I love the canon SX50 but it only records for 29 minutes and then stops recording and it has a loud focus lens).
at 1:38 in the video you can hear exactly how the audio sounds when using the P530 video. The zooming is pretty quiet and unfortunately we didn't test if the video goes past 29min.
I know it's a year later but if you buy a sd card with more gb, you can get more recording time. I have this camera and had a 2 gb card and that only gave me 12 minutes of video time. I got a 16 gb card and now it's at 27 video time. Hope this helps. Also, would you know if there is an external microphone for this?

I use this camera for my RUclips videos. The quality is good but the mic sucks and there is no port for an external mic . So now I have to buy a new camera lol

The first thing I do when buying a new camera is buy a UV Filter to protect the lens... But buying online, (for the best price, naturally), no mention could I find that apparently Nikon F&^%ed that up & no filters can be used without A STINKING HUGE ADAPTER that vignettes @ wide angle... WTF nikon? Are you all that stupid?... or is it that you just don't care anymore?... If I'm mistaken, someone please tell me better news, but so far... so f'd up, I can't friggin' believe it! (I do see what look kinda like threads on the inside of the front of the lens, hopefully I can make something work... we'll see. If I can I'll remove this post, But...otherwise it may be going back to... China? (oh shyt)
