This brings me back to a mid-winter Sunday evening, 35 years ago. Sitting in a train, with 2 hours ahead of me, on my way to the army barracks where I was stationed back then. Watching all the street and station lights flash by in the dark as we speed at 80 mph on a cold steel rail road. The cadence is soothing. Got my headset on and plugged in into my walkman. Playing the album Somewhere in Time out loud twice until I reach my destination. I remember listening to this on our tour bus in 87. I was just 20 on my way to the next show. No family or home. Just the 4 other guys in the band. This song brings it back vividly.

I love this album, the one that introduced me to Iron Maiden. The album, Somewhere in Time, is controversial with some fans, but for those of us who heard iron Maiden first with it, it's one of the best. I'll echo suggestions for the song "Stranger in a Strange Land," also on Somewhere in Time, which isn't as speedy, but it's as dynamic with its rumbling bass line, and has one of Adrian Smith's best solos (and ranks up there with solos by David Gilmour imho). Love the reaction!

I love the pop feel of Wasted Years. Maiden just know how to compose. Unfortunately, the singer's voice is difficult for me. I'm more into the rough-around-the-edges sound of Hetfield or even modern growling.
You know what I like? Two years ago, you would see young people with band t-shirts. You could ask that person to name some songs by that band, and they would fail. I like the fact that people are learning about these great genres, and they are breaking down barriers. Thank you to all of these reaction channels, you are all doing great!
I'd love for you two to do another reaction to this song. But next time react to the video version. It's a great video and I think you'll appreciate it even more.

When these come to the USA you need to go and see them live. To feel the drums thumping in your chest, and the bass thumping you in the stomach. And the guitars just going through your head. Plus the show these guys put on. You will never see a finer show. Plus you'll be accepted as part of the Iron Maiden family. Try to get as close to the front as possible. You won't regret it.

Sux how people will put down a band they like cause they make different types of albums out and sont always give exactly what's expected!! I embrace and love when a band outs out a different sounding album out, which diversity and intelligence!! Thia is one of those albums maiden scrutinized and so , along with turbo from Judas priest . You know what I am saying and that too in it own kicked ass too in own unique way , along with another was when Metallica put out And Justice For All but again a solid album that just showed more talent from the band!! One of my most favorite bands every single.album sounds different Fates Warning one of the most talented band /singing/ songwriting bands ever !!
YOU GOTTA DO RIME OF THE
ANCIENT MARINER A MASTERPIECE!!
Maiden are legend.
Try listening to Machine Head, heavy with great guitar solos and they been around 30 years
I feckin love this song! If you are a true playa and metal head you have at least one Iron Maiden that is your jam. This one is mine.
If you want to see a great band you two need to see them in concert. 🔥🔥🔥🎸🎸🎸I know Lexi will love them.
Iron Maiden is my favorite band ever... Saw them 1st when I was 15.. changed my world...seen them live 5 times total.
I grew up listening to Iron Maiden. I'm almost 52 and totally get this song
There's no time like the present 😎
Love this track, one of my favorite guitar solo sections of all time. You guys should react to Infinite Dreams by Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden song to check out Can I Play With Madness.
There are acres of great Maiden tracks, but this is my all time favourite 👍
Wow! Gave me goosebumps too! Same time as you, Lex! 😂 Love how y’all break it down! Keep up the good work!
Omg! I'm so glad you reacted to this song!! It's one of my favorite songs by Iron Maiden. Check out Stranger in a Strange Land. You won't be disappointed. Fantastic solo in that one too.
You got to try "stranger in a strange land" from the somewhere in time album.
Your comments are on the point guys! 👊I like that Brad appreciates the lyrics as Steve Harris is awesome and Lex for the occasional lighter vibe that Maiden have! PS. I brought my 5 year old Nephew an Iron Maiden T-Shirt recently to others disbelief! He loves it! Booooom!!!! 💪
next up ------------------------------> The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner
So many Greats from Iron Maiden, Eddie Lives
This one made my day . Always enjoy your reactions
Absolutely amazing song, amazing band!
We are certainly not living in the Golden Years right now!
I love how she reacts to metal music especially the electric guitar. Please react to the song "the rime of the ancient mariner" or "powerslave" live version. Greetings from Argentina
Lex I'm exactly the same everytime I listen, try the evil that men do 🙏
Adrian's solo IS pretty fantastic
Reaction to Iron Maiden - Afraid to shoot strangers
So... Are we gonna just ignore the awesome bass in this song?
God I love these lyric videos. They were always B grade quality but they're so nostalgic for me now
Up the irons! 🤘🤘
This is off their sixth album, Somewhere in Time, from 1986. They put out their first album in 1980. Pretty sure the guys were in their early 30s
when this came out.
The official videos definitely worth checking out.
