the song was inspired by a nightmare Steve Harris had after watching the film Damien: Omen II. Good job Lex, it is art and you guys are reliving the discussion we had in the 80’s when this and other songs, like this came out. The intro was from the Bible, Revelations. Yes Brad, my mom had a hard time with tunes like this when I was a kid. Back then, this was heavy stuff.
I heard this since 10 years old and i knew it was just playing but it gave me energy because of the song rythm. I can tell you it was one of the song i loved the most to hear when i was a kid.
Lex is spot on. You've got to treat it as it is. Art. Entertainment. Similar to a classic horror story. And not got obsessed with the literal meaning of the lyrics and thinking this is what they are about!

Finally saw Iron Maiden in Vancouver BC in 2016. They are still amazing. I'm not a metalhead but I do love the classic melodic stuff like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath.
At the same show, f'n awesome. I have seen them 6 times in Vancouver. Lol
Wow!! That's awesome. I miss Vancouver and all the shows I saw there. Moved to Windsor Ontario for cheap real estate. Figured we could easily see Detroit concerts but then covid happened. Still haven't been to any Detroit shows. They have to open that border eventually.
@@hellopaulie I moved to Vernon for cheap real-estate. Lol
I totally understand the move out of Vancouver. Lol
Borders will open soon, Iron Maiden shows WILL GO ON...🤘😁🤘
Brad: "I have a feeling it's going to get heavy."
.
The Human Air Raid Siren: ***INHALES***
Gotta do Alexander the Great… The best song of Iron Maiden to react to imo. 🤘🏼
From the best album. 🤘🤘
Brad, there's nothing to be afraid of. The best way I can describe Iron Maiden is to call it like, metal cosplay. They write songs based on history and mythology, etc, and do a little dress-up but that's not who they really are. It's theater. Don't be scared, yall. It's just a story.
Bruce Dickinson is without a doubt one of the greatest voices in metal. Him, Ronnie James Dio, and Rob Halford.
I've seen Iron Maiden 5 times in concert...they are my boyfriends favorite band!!he's seen them more than I have live. This band ALWAYS ROCKS OUT!!! Bruce Dickinson has one of the best voices in metal!!!amazing to see them perform in concert!!!thanks for your reactions!! Lex rocks!!🤘
New Orleans vibe because the guitars are playing “Oh When the Saints go marching in. Good ear!!! 🔥
Yup
I have listened to this since i was 6 and i thought it was great back then and wasn't scared at all. Kids are smarter than you think.
Yeah....I started listening to iron Maiden alone at 10yo and scared the crap out of other kids...I did it as a revenge against my strict Opera fans parents
Would you let your kids listen to it??? My mom bought me this album for my 9th birthday nearly forty years ago, still love it today, not only should you not hide this from kids, but you should gift it to them, when you are young it has mysticism, when you are older you understand the skill
I remember listening to this song, dance of death, Metallica call of ktulu, etc, late at night on my porch when I was like 10 or 11. Those songs would make these crazy movies in my mind and sometimes I'd get scared and go inside lol. The mysticism of this music is REAL when you're young
@@ext93 Metalica Ktulu ? Burtons bass rips wow! love that shit, it really has the same the feel though. that's what we we want, something powerful with mysticism.
Glad you guys are Iron Maiden fans! I saw them here in my hometown of Pittsburgh back in the 80's; you should have seen the stage setup they had! 🎸
They are an amazing band ❤ I miss Vincent Price narrating scary stuff lol! Also Bruce Dickenson voice is so good! Great choice!
That opening with Vincent Price STILL send shivers all over,
That's not Vincent Price - they did try to get him to do the intro but couldn't afford him. The spoken intro to "The Number Of the Beast" is performed by British radio announcer and voice actor Barry Clayton.
Happy Sunday funday fam
This was my first live concert. 1983, Providence Rhode Island. I was 13yo and it was "The Beast on the Road Tour." Best live band ever, their have performances, not shows. Made me a head banger for life.
Best Metal band
Best album
Best line up
The amazing drum power by Clive Burr (rip). Best metal drummer
Judas Priest and Scott Travis have entered the chat...
"Picture my grandma's house, she literally would be spritzing holy water on me." Like a cat, LOL.
MERCYFUL FATE - The Oath
more halloweenish stuff, cheers!
Yes! Mercyful Fate!
"A Dangerous Meeting" is one of my favorite Halloween songs.
If you're gonna recommend MF it should be Coven
@@Phantom-kc9ly you really can't go wrong with anything from the first two albums for Halloween.
shit if you guys don't have my old ass staying up late, just ran across your channel and you guys are great. Thank you!
Yous two really need to start doing the LIVE performances from Maiden !!
These studio tracks are no match for the LIVE tours of the 2000's
Here's hoping you up the ante.....
"The heaviness is coming...", right when it's about to hit 😆
I love how Brad comments on any music "that was different" :D I mean you are not wrong, but do you always expect a 4/4 rhythm, C G Am F chords?
The# is "Six hundred & sixty six" not six six six sixsixsoxruclips.net/p/PLOuIQKKdBZLnbjU1HIyIzvgpNVcGpHhzc
I am just so impressed with Lex. EVERY time she comments on a song that I love and know reallly well, she gets it spot on. Brad is going on about hallowe’en and whether it’s bad for kids, and Lex says, it’s just art. Spot on Lex.
The intro is an excerpt from the Holy Bible, Revelations 13:18. Granted, it's not verbatim but you can see where the inspiration came from.
You guys are like words and music. Brad pays attention to the words, and Lex the music. You go together awesomely.
Brad... I think you accidentally married a metal head. Congratulations.
I think that would be a happy accident. Speaking of which, they should check out Happy Little Clouds with Bob Ross. That would be awesome.
Bruce's horror scream - is incredible.
do rime of the ancient mariner folks(live after death version)it's just epic
Had me dying on how hyped she was at the intro 😂😂😂
If this scares "normies" then maybe they should quit reading the bible too because the stories sin there are worse.
It's from the Bible. The people that complain are referring to context. Use common sense
This should be taken as art. Iron Maiden tells stories, horror stories sometimes, but stories.
it's amazing how much personality Lex has, and how little Brad has. You should just rename the channel Lex and Brad. Bro, grow a personality.
Good job Lex, it is art and you guys are reliving the discussion we had in the 80’s when this and other songs, like this came out. The intro was from the Bible, Revelations. Yes Brad, my mom had a hard time with tunes like this when I was a kid. Back then, this was heavy stuff.
Obama asked for donations of $6, $60 or $600 for his birthday celebration.. Lol
So glad I subscribed to this channel. You guys are awesome. Lex always keeping it real and Brad is growing into the metal scene!
I heard this since 10 years old and i knew it was just playing but it gave me energy because of the song rythm. I can tell you it was one of the song i loved the most to hear when i was a kid.
"I wish I could blast it, I wish I could turn it all the way up".
That is the correct way to listen to most parts of Iron Maiden songs. 😁🤘👍
Lex is spot on. You've got to treat it as it is. Art. Entertainment. Similar to a classic horror story. And not got obsessed with the literal meaning of the lyrics and thinking this is what they are about!
You two rock! Thank you for reacting to the best decade of rock music!
Bruce really holds that first “Yeah” for days!
Brad my guy- your ability to pause at the absolute worst moments is impeccable 😂
iron Maiden Best concert iv ever been to and it was my first you never forget the experience and the energy from the band and crowd.
Man.....! Steve Harris's bass line is insane in this song (just like Run To The Hills). I don't even play an instrument, but I always focus on his efforts.
Great reaction, guys!
It's all about horror movies, the old kind with Vincent Price and old British castles and thunder and cemeteries..... I love it!
Just found this channel love how Lex gets really into it .Iron Maiden are the greatest heavy metal band in the world 🌍 and they are from my country England 🏴 Also going to see the live in Manchester next year .The intro is brilliant as teenager I played this loud at home 40 years ago 😎
Lex should've been around in the 80s... I remember going to old closed warehouses and hearing bands like this just jamming... no cops around, just kids playing wherever they could.. all kinds of music was just exploding.. rock, pop, new wave, r&b, rap... It was all just exploding... Great time... Great reaction. Thank you. 😊
LMAO....Grandma spritzin holy water on me
Y’all need to go to a live metal show. The huge positive energy is unbelievable!! 20,000 plus people all there to see their favourite band....if the energy could be harnessed, it would light up a city!!! Cheers and Up The Irons!!🤘
I’m so so glad they pushed Dickinson for the intro scream fucking iconic
When I was growing up the day before Halloween was called Devil's Night.
Brads understatement - "Well that was different" Lex really getting into it
I had this on vinyl and used to blast it all the time.
I was a kid and I listened to it. I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever heard.
When I was a kid, we called the night before Halloween, Devil's Night. I don't know where that name came from, but we were little devils andmd went around egging and toilet papering people's houses.
Love this music I grew up in the 80s with nearly 700 cassette tapes of just metal and rock
