- We’re joined by Mike Bolio from Mobil 1 to talk about differential oil. You should change your rear axle gear oil depending on the specs that your owner’s manual provides, but the typical range is about 40,000-60,000 miles.
Racing or high intensity driving will decrease that range due to overheating.
When selecting gear lubricants, be sure to also check the owner’s manual to see what specs match your desired product.
