I started out in cars but the needs of family took president. Many years ago when I was a younger man of your age I set out to design and build my own home. Yes I spent twice as much as I thought it would be and it took me twice as long as I thought it would It did get done and we still live here to this day. Take the road less traveled if you can. I've never regretted it one bit. I think I still have a car in me to do... Thanks for the inspiration. Great work. Enjoy

Y’Know, experiencing the joy and euphoria from building something yourself, and having lots of fun with loved ones, including all the skills I’d say this was well worth it. Im glad you were able to document all of this, not just for yourself, but for those of us who can’t build something like this. This channel is truly amazing!!!

Something else to consider is that these videos of the build will continue to accrue interest from viewers over time (I'd predict growing a larger and larger audience as they are found by more) which, in turn, will bring that cost/gain ratio into better proportions over time (hopefully not to much more in expenses in that time).
I've enjoyed all of this work you have done, it was masterful.

Thanks for this video! The cost breakdown really puts the details of the project into perspective. You were under my estimated cost, but of course there was no accounting for your valuable labor. Still, labor is assumed as the point where the savings of a kit car build comes into play. (sweat equity). A shop would have cost tens of thousands more for their labor, parts, and profit. As with any big, hand built, custom project like this, there is a great deal of pride and satisfaction that comes with the small and big victories on the build journey. And that, (along with family fun) is priceless.

Thanks alot.that was a good idea that you created a different video during the process of car building.
I have a question about the prices in U.S
is there any reason that some prices are for example like 14.99$ instead of 15 $?does it have a reason or the seller just choses that?

Hi from NZ... Im about to build a beautiful black replica countach... but im at a crossroads.... your advice.... i can either go with a LT4 supercharged V8 coupled to a C8 7 speed Tiptronic Dual clutch gearbox.... or Get the tesla Power pack like youve done....... what would you suggest i pick... the LT4 or the Tesla engine?

Tough choice! Quite a difference in your build plan. Do you love the thunderous roar of a V8? Hard to recreate with an electric car. Are you are going for quickness? Hard to beat electric instant torque. Totally up to your preference. Either way I am sure it will be an epic build!

@@ElectricSuperCar ive actually already decided.. Im gong to buy Charlie stricklsnds contach.. He makes alloy chasis then use your idea of the tesla motor... I was thinking running the batteries in the centre tunnel for balance and safety.. I don't want engine sound...... Did you have front motors as well or just the rear one? Jazz from. NZ

@@ElectricSuperCar to answer.. yes going for quick speed,,,...and another Q would you tell me the total weight of your car...you see if i go tesla and dont go the LT4 then that removes a tonne of weight already... so designwise im already on a win.... and i love your videos and channel.. you do a great job
