This is nuts!!! Really like how you push the RS3 Mini to its absolute limits instead of just saying that it works with a 24-70mm, like most others YTers do 😂
Thank you. I am considering buying 50 1.2GM for my A7SIII but I was not sure whether my RS3 mini can handle this combo. Now I know I can even balance a 70-200GMII on it.
Thanks. I decided to buy the RS3 Mini with R8 and 24-70mm EF with the adapter and wanted to know if it would work. this video helped me especially when you mounted the 70-200mm and it balanced
Yeah! Last year I had actually bought both the RS3 and RS3 mini, and pretty much the only reason to use the RS3 instead is if you want Raveneye.. I really wanted to use Raveneye a lot but I pretty much never do.
Great video man ! super helpful. Was on the fence about this tiny powerhouse as i was worried if it could handle my a7iv and sigma 24-70. looks like it would without any issues !
Brilliant! Would this work on vertical? Cant find videos for that. im on a Sony a7iii + sigma 24-70mm. Wondering if this gimbal would handle it on vetical
@@kuramafox1290 maybe the first couple of times you do it; but I’ve gotten pretty fast with it. Plus if you’re not switching lenses very often, you really only have to adjust it once unless you take everything apart to pack it away. But from zero, I can probably be ready to go with that gimbal in about 2-3 minutes.
You said that this Sigma 14-24mm (795g) weighs MORE than the Sony 70-200mm (1480g)... The Sony is heavier than the Sigma.. Did you perhaps make an error in this video, or am I missing something?
I said the 14-24mm weighs more than the 24-70mm. Or at least that’s what I meant :) Although I have the 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II, they made a new version of the 70-200 that is only 1045g! Still heavier than the 14-24
Sony A7IV with Sony 70-200mm GM ii does NOT work with this DJI RS 3 mini. Not sure how you got it to calibrate but this is too front heavy. I’ve been trying all kinds of things and no luck.
@@ryan6404 that’s a pretty long lens also.. but it SHOULD still be balanceable. Does it hit the back motor? Or do you just run out of slider space? Do you have a camera cage? They will often have multiple holes on the bottom so you can scoot the camera mount forward on the bottom of your camera a bit
Absolutely....your videos are coming up in most searches but I absolutely can't understand this low sub count of this channel..doing my bit by subscribing...BTW can this gimbal handle the canon R6 MII with the 24-105 F4 lens?
Great material, lots of information and a practical test. I was advised not to use the DJI RS3 mini for the Canon Eos R8 with Sigma 14-24mm 2.8 set. The store says I won't be able to balance it. What do you think about it? The Canon weighs about 465 grams, plus an adapter that will move the lens a bit, and the Sigma's heavy glass. If you tell me, I will be very grateful.
That camera is a little less a pound and that lens is 1.75 pounds. So together they are less than 3 pounds and this gimbal can handle 4.5!! So you are 100% good with that.. Just don’t forget to balance all three axis
I use a A7 iV with cage, dji mic and 24-70 GM2 on that gimbal, it´s a little beast
Seriously? I’m on a Ronin SC and cannot get my A74 + Sigma 24-70 to balance, so I’m highly considering the RS3. You’re saying the RS3 Mini would work?
What DJI mic?
@MotoMatt418 RS cannot do it, rs3 mini can
no problem using the cage with the rs3 mini?
How do you attach the mic
How tf do u have 3.6k subs. Just watched 3 vids of urs. Ur vids are better than channels I've seen with 100k+
THANKS!! I'm not sure how the whole thing works with getting picked up by the algorithm - but Im not stopping any time soon..
Very helpful! This will be the reason I'll buy the rs3 mini next week! Thanks so much!

Funny enough I have the RS3 Mini, RS3, and RS3 Pro, but never thought to even try my heavier lens on the mini! lol Thanks for sharing.

Very useful. I currently rock an R7 (with hand grip) with either RF 35 / 24-70
Hey man , I use canon R8 with adapter EF to RF and 24-70 2.8 ii , do you think it can handle this set up ? And thank you 🙏
Super helpful video! Do you know if switching to vertical portrait mode would introduce any issues with a heavy lens like the one you tested?
Can all of the same lenses will be fine if mounted vertically on this?
I believe so, I have the heaviest 14-24 sigma and it works fine
I got this gimbal used on eBay for $100 and it’s such a great deal for my A7IV and sigma 24-70 I and sigma 35 1.4! It’s such a tank
It really is incredible how light and small yet strong it is!
Super helpful. Thanks. There's one with a higher load rating (4kg) I might get that while in Japan.
Nice work man appreciate the testing and advice!
did you try the 70-200 on it while at 200? =D
Hey Nicholas, thinking of getting the sigma 24 70 2.8 version one and the rs3 mini. Does it take a lot of time to adjust the gimbal?

Amazed with how it did with the wide angle at the end while you were running. Does that lens you were using have its own IBIS?
Nope, no stabilization in the lens, just the camera ibis and the gimbal!

Hey Nicholas. Great Video.
Is the Sigma 24-70 Working without any problems aswell? I have a 74 + teh sigma. Thx
Yep, I have no problems whatsoever with the sigma 24-70 2.8
Idk why I can’t balance my sigma 28-105 f2.8 its under the max weight the gimbal ca handle but its so front heavy
