    I was going to buy 6 of those gauges but using a monitor is so much cheaper and it looks great. Thanks, you saved me $400.

    You are as good as any computer expert I have seen on here. Excellent presentation and well thought out. Do you intend to do a video on how to incorporate all of this into FSX? How about the software for the monitor you have added?

    Thank you. This was very good for me. I am thinking about building one for my home use to practice and just have some fun. You had the prices and call numbers and was very helpful overall. I think you said there was a second video which I must now find.
    I would like to know a bit more about the toggle switches you mentioned towards the end of the video. I also would like to know a bit more about the GPS and its connection to the system.
    Again, thank you. This was excellent!

  • @tjohara947
    @tjohara947 7 лет назад +3

    I watched this video about 4 times. Seems I learn something new each time I watch it. How do you assign functions to the toggle switches? Do you need additional software such as FSUIPC? In any event, do you use this software? If so, could you please give a little explanation/How TO?
    Thanks,
    Tony

      Tj ohara Saitek products have their own software, or you can Download software called Spad, wich needs a free version of fsuipc. Great Thing about saitek, is that you don't have to go through programming, It is basically plug and Play.

    I'm starting to build something similar. I already have my instrument rating but I've never really used it to much. Has this simulator helped you keep current as far as procedures . And your scan. I know you can't log time. I just want to improve my skills so when I fly in airplane it won't be so tough. Thanks Bobby

  • @buzzfoster4430
    @buzzfoster4430 10 лет назад

    Marek, The switch panel is in place of Saitek Throttle System. Did you have any problem holding the panel in place without the clamps? Also it looks like you had a metal plate bent at the GPS. Is that so and lastly what is the depth of the shelves for both the monitors and also the flight panel. Great job, you should be proud. Thanks, Buzz

    • @MarekMarciniak
      @MarekMarciniak  9 лет назад

      Buzz Foster Thank you Buzz..I drilled 2 more holes at the bottom of the Advance Pane and connected the panel with the shelf for better stability. The plate near GPS is just a wooden plate painted black that connects the center console (made of old cabinet) with the panel. Its resting behind the GPS and its not attached to anything. The depth and height of the shelvesupper shelf: 40 inches -height., 16 in deeppane shelf: 26 -height, 20 deep.If you need more detail pictures send me mail at : marekmarciniak11@gmail.comTake care !

    Hi Marek, thank you very much for the videos and instructions. I already bought all the instruments and the advanced panel.
    My question is what is the height of both desks in your setup. The desk for the panel and the one for the monitors to have a comfortable seating position like yours.
    Thank you again for your time and dedication. You were my inspiration to build this project.
    Regards
    Alex

    • @MarekMarciniak
      @MarekMarciniak  9 лет назад

      Alexandre Salloum the height of the monitors shelf is 40 inches and the shelf for panel is 26 inches. I am 6.1, I have a office chair with adjustable height. For me this work perfect. Thanks for watching and if you have more questions go ahead ! I am here to help.

      hello
      Yes, The CAP comes with the space for Monitor. The manufacturer recommend a Hannspree HL HL161ABB 16-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor.. Glad you like my setup. Thanks for watching !!!

  • @tjohara947
    @tjohara947 7 лет назад

    Oh, one other question Marek.
    The monitors I find are 15.6 inches. Even the one that saud 16", the actual dimension is really 15.6" This should work with the Saitek flight panel, right?
    Some monitors do not require a separate power supply. The USB supplies the power. Do you see any issues with the USB supplied power? Would you recommend a separate power source?
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Mark this set up is awesome, I was trying to build something very similar myself, but I lack the gadget and technical knowledge to do it, so a friend just forwarded this video. I'm impressed by how you managed to put this amazing set up together and I bet this helps a lot to master your pilot skills. Would you be able to provide additional guidance and share some purchase links (Amazon, eBay, etc) as I tried with your info above but not sure I'm getting the exact items (I'm seriously newbie on this), and don't want to mess up with such an expensive purchase, I don't want to end up with compatibility issues and stuff... we can chat over skype/email. Cheers from Costa Rica! Leo

    I just received the pro flight panel radio only..Do you know how to turn the led displays off when not in use but still plugged in to your computer via the USB cable when the computer is turned on for other applications? ( My pro fight radio panel display appears to be lit permanently so long as it's plugged in and the computer is on, whether in the simulator (xplane) or not and would prefer the displays to not light up/display info when not in the simulator..(SPAD driver installed..the original Saitek driver did not work for me at all- the Saitek driver just made the display display random, constantly changing numbers)..Thanks for any feedback

    • @jirikocman
      @jirikocman 9 лет назад

      justinspirational At W8.x power saving mode will turn off panels when not used. In older Wins you have to unplug panel or use USB hub with switches (on/off)

    • @justinspirational
      @justinspirational 9 лет назад

      Jiří Kocman thank you- I want to have my windows 8.1 computer to run in high performance mode (to get best frame rates in my sims) so not sure if that would still work unless you are referring to something else..I may get a USB hub with switches but am waiting to see if the saitek pro flight switch panel (which I've also ordered but yet to receive) will turn off the panel displays by switching the alternator and master battery switches off on that panel (as someone else has suggestedthat may do it)..also how do you set up the fourth monitor in the cockpit to display the instruments only? (I have a 3 monitor wide nvidia surround set up too- two gtx 980s in SLI, but utilizing one of my spare monitors similarly as a 4th instrument display would be helpful- just not sure how to set up in FSX or XPlane 10)- thanks
