More about this video
A step by step guide on how I built my own cheap and easy home cockpit. The whole point of it is for it to be universal and use the minimum amount of software. Thus, I simply use FSX and adjust the 2D panels to fit the instrument screen. The instrument panel screen is positioned nearly at eye-level so I can use it as my normal PC monitor when not flying. In this video you can find answers to many questions concerning the construction of the cockpit shell, hardware such as the overhead panel, software etc.

Wow, a lot of work went into this!
I put a $400 oculus on my head and I’m sitting and feeling my way around a 737 cockpit! It gives me goosebumps. Zibo mod 737 on xplane 11 with the audio pack is freaking unbelievable, and every switch works!
So impressive that anyone has this knowledge and dedication but especially so for someone your age. Thanks so much for sharing all this.
What a terrific, inspirational ...gift to the simulation world!
Thank you!
Chas
I'm building a basic version very cheaply! Using the same wooden frame, a TV I'm using as a monitor (connected to my laptop with a hdmi cable) that was just lying around my house , a wireless keyboard as an overhead panel, and a saitek joystick (I like them over the yoke) and done. It's good for begginers who get confused by hardware
99% of the people watching this is dreaming of this cockpit until they check the price. But anyway a great tutorial, I subbed
will im stupid jk what is the price
Just the throttle quad is 800 US..Im out
Ill just not buy the throttle quadrant i think;)
Those are just Saitek throttle quadrants. One comes with the yoke, the other is about $55 for an add-on. The handles are about $60 off CockpitPHD.com. You can certainly get a nicer throttle quadrant that can run from a few hundred into the thousands, though.
@@andrewwilliams9419 buy the honey comb its $250
What I loved most of all about this is your dedication and seeing the undeniable joy you get out of this. Thank you for sharing your ideas with your fellow simmers in this small niche world. Keep it up, happy landings!
Good job setting all that up! Years ago, back in FS98, 2002, and 2004 I was really into Flight Simulation. I could have only dreamed of having a similar setup. I'm glad to see people keeping the FS community going. :)
Such a lovely young man. Thoroughly enjoyed your presentation - thank you. It has inspired me to work on similar with my nephew.
Your nephew will love it :) Good luck!
Wow impressive project!
You reminded me that the time when i didn’t have the luxury of parents buying toy, I made my own toys a bit at a time use various available materials and which took time and dedication. At end, I had so much fun playing with it and kept it for a long time. I can tell you enjoyed and had fun for the entire process of building the cockpit. Great job.
This is a very good video for those who are working on designing our own specific cockpits. It really gives a lot of ideas. It is one of the best 20 minutes of video explanation since I decided on getting involved in flight simulation. Obviously, you started with a basic model and built it up beyond that. It really give me a lot of very good ideas.
beautiful and well explained video. Subscribed! Thanks a lot.
Greetings from Mexico city
Great video. You were very detailed and clear in your explanations and this video seems that it would be very helpful to anyone interested in a project like this.
I need to make one
you did a really great job young man! that is a very good rendition of a easy built home cockpit. thanks for sharing... makes me wanna try my hand at building one.
Amazing job! The overhead panel just blew my mind. Thanks for passing on your knowledge!
do you know what is the hardware model/name he used as interface betweeen overhead buttons and pc? He showed on the video but i didn't got it.
You should sell these setups... you would make a fortune! I would buy it!
With his creativity, you are too right.
The Santarelli Trading Exchange yeah me too lol
I would buy it
Marvelous job man..... this vid will b the baseline for my underconstruction A320 Sim. Once done, I will definitely share mine with you TheGreatFlyer. Thanx buddy

After years of dreaming, today is the day. I ordered all the parts for a DIY MIP
nice! hhow much was it?
Innovative and good lay-out of the simulator.... well done, bravo!!!
Thank you! I have been looking all over RUclips for a tutorial like this and this was the only one I found that helped thanks you just got another sub
Hey, just wondering, where did you get the hardware for the overhead? I'm finding it very difficult to find appropriate switches and rotary selectors (rotary encoders are a whole other can of worms).
Hey, I'm looking to make a home cockpit for Christmas and could really do with some advice?
Thanks so much m8 I am starting to make my own cockpit now and a lot of the credit goes to you.... You gave such amazing tips and tricks thanks so much for the video!!!!!
What a great cockpit you've made and an equally great video explaining everything, really really nice!
If I'm ever on a plane where the pilots croak, I really hope you're on it
15 Sad people in the world that think this video deserves a thumbs down. Thanks for taking the time to make this great video :-)
just started on flight sims loving it, but really this a lot of effort hats off to you man and yes this is my dream setup
Hi! I just wanted to say you're a *really* nice guy for going to all the trouble of putting this up on RUclips with all the information so easily presented. Thank you so much. You've given me the inspiration to go and do this for myself. Thank you, and good luck :o)
Well done, dude ! How old are you and where are you from ?
***** Nice. I'm from Belarus.
Alex Clifford happy birthday mate !
First of all
From were did you get all of these materials

How much dose the entire flight sim cost??
Eagle gamer probably 1-2 thousand USD
yep... 1-2 THOUSAND USD
No, it costs about 3 Thousand USD
No it doesn't if you buy it on eBay
The video answered almost all of my questions about cockpit. Thank you very much
Great design work. You made your cockpit look really good! Congrats
I am 11 and I want to be a pilot when I am older
Same here
Me too
same
Good luck paying for training
Yeah, better start saving
Brilliant and extremely well thought-out design and build--and most importantly, a clear, detailed review on youtube video--you are destined for much bigger things clearly! congratulations
I've seen many videos on cockpit construction, but this one is very informative, clear and easy to follow. Well done! I will put a link to it on my website.
What a fantastic video! Very clear and well produced - and what a great set up.
From one builder to another - excellent work! Simple and very immersive. I never thought of using a poster behind the panel switches. I'm stealing that!
Just keep doing what you are doing! Research lots before you increment each step. Contact me for specifics if you like...
Wow... the motivated mind on a mission... awesome... and you upgraded over time too!
no it is not
Thank you for your video and explaining the steps you took to set it up.Wonderful stuff and very helpful indeed.
Enjoyed your video and saw the best use of FSUIPC I have seen. Well done!

Brilliant! Thank you for taking the time to explain all of this!
i must admit i dont have what it takes to build such an setup and the willpower to actually learn how to use it :)
but i gotta say sir....you have earned my utmost admiration and respect with this video alone ! =)
Helped a lot. Now I can get it started on building the cockpit at home !
So cheaply build but DAMN, it's nice! AWESOME! Great job! Proves how much you can accomplish with dedication.
Great video, mate!
What a great job ! Congratulations
Wow, that's impressive. It's incredible how you built it instead of buying already made cockpit shells (I don't know which words to say)
I always think people should tilt their screens in their flight sim cockpits to make it look a bit more realistic but I don't think it makes sense now.
Great setup man... Hats off to you!
Ellines for ever !!! Very nice work !!!
Wow, awesome work! Love it!
Excelent video mate, hopefully I'll do this one day. I liked your homemade cockpit! Greetings from Mexico!
Very informative and well done tutorial. I'm also a cockpit buileder and I found that video usefull. Thank you and goodluck. Fly high !
That's a great video thanks. I have a full cockpit ( 2/3 rd scale ) for a a-7 corsair I'm currently getting set up. I'm learning how to interface the controls with the computer. Your info is helpful.
great video - really nice job on explaining it all - thanks for posting
That was amazing. Very nice setup.

Gutiest Video I ever saw Mav.....Seriously dude, it about time someone actually got into the programming of the buttons and switches and stuff.....thanks.
This is really cool cockpit!!!
Crazy setup, totally bonkers!. However your problem solving and ingenuity will take you far. Entertaining and informative video for sure.

Thanks for watching, check out my new videos flying the real 737!
Awesome video. You have done a great job and I thank you for sharing it with us. I am very enthusiastic about flying by simulator and I want to have something similar to you. I did not know where to start but his video helps me to have a better idea. I have much to learn yet. Congrats!!!
Way cool. Great vid, very well thought out and assembled. Great cockpit too; congrats :)
DigitalJeremy dgty
pretty awesome tGF, your a natural flyer m8, the only thing your missing in your cockpit is Track IR-5,
Salute!
I'm half way there lol 😂 good video 👌 helped me loads . Got the three screens and the yoke and throttle body and a ten inch screen for my gages 😊 . And now bought auto pilot panel and the engine start panel and lights 🤗 .
Impressive. I will use some of your recommendations in my sim. Thanks for sharing!
I normally never comment on youtube. But man, you did a fantastic job! Thanks for sharing!
Draw hack is best hack. I didn't even bother filling mine. I just put the draw in upside down and screwed my X55 stick into it.
Amazing job by the way. Now you need a 3 or more screen view outside set back from a window frame.
Great video mate, very helpful.
Nice build video. Be proud simulator owner. Good done!
I really liked this video. Great work.
Absolutely great video mate, and I really like the setup, now i just need to get some money to build one :)
So cool. Great job bud.
great video and brill build well done!
The PC i m using rt now has a better processor bro( I7 8th gen, 2 gb Radeon), Plz upgrade. Its a marvel u have designed. Great work for a kid like u!! Keep it up!!
You have my respect...
This is awsome !
You've got me excited!
You are awesome, GREAT work!
Love the icons and cross in the background!
Haha you noticed :)
Perfect instruction for newbies👍
Great stuff, thank you for documenting your endeavour so nicely, it's informative and inspiring. Hopefully you can find a way to become a real pilot, too!
this is brilliant, im saving this video so i can later build my own with this as inspiration
wow that overhead is really cool
Very good work!
Hi Demetris, a great project, it was a big surprise looking your video, it looks
rely easy to make it! I will try to make it in my home in Manaus, Amazon, Brazil.
Thank god for affordable VR in 2020. I'm putting all my money into a motion simulator & nice headset for my homemade flight sim. Sure I'll miss out on the tactile experience of a setup like this, but I'll gain back the physical thrill of flying (to a degree). Plus, I'm mainly only interested in flying very small & ultralight aircraft, which don't have a lot of controls anyway..
Wow! That's brilliant!... well explained and very inspiring :-)
thank you very much for posting this video
this video really helps
