You described mixture backwards. Mixture controls the amount of fuel going in to the engine.
It controls the ratio of fuel to air going into the engine
he also described what the elevators do incorrectly. Yes, there is a little deflection from the wind hitting it, but it's basically negligible. The main force that moves it up or down is lift. The elevator is basically an upside down wing. When you pull back on the yoke, the elevator moves up which extends the chord line which equals more lift, and since it's an upside down wing, that lift is directed downwards, so the tail moves down. The opposite it true for when you push the yoke forward.
@@MrMR-sk8jm no he described it correctly, lets think about flaps, when you drop flaps it generates lift, they are pointing down. the horizontal stabilizer is shaped like the wing. going back to the flaps, how my instructor taught me is, on final when you have the flaps dumped, and are on final, pitch becomes what controls speed, and throttle controls altitude. so you increase throttle, push the nose down, the aircraft will actually go up, as the flaps act like the elevator, they are pointed down so when you apply more thrust or airflow, it hits them and the air is pushed down which is why it goes up (every action has an equal and opposite reaction. the reason pushing down on the elevator makes the plane go down is because its on the end of the tail, so the tail goes up just like flaps, but unlike flaps, they arent near the CG so it actually pushes the nose down. i know you werent asking for a lecture but i just wanna make sure everyone knows what they are talking about prior to making a statement such as the one you made.

I believe the way tail wheel steering works is:
The rudder pedals are connected directly to the rudder that has a spring on each side that connects to the rear wheel. When you push on one rudder, the tail deflects but nothing happens to the rear wheel until you move forward (or are moving forward already). Then the spring pulls the rear wheel to one side until the tension is relieved. No, it does not work like, "the wind hits the tail and pushes it around."
I know this is old, but thank you anyway. I finally found someone who takes the time to show how to calibrate and map buttons in FSX...

How come these are not on Amazon anymore?
Everything that I've ever bought that was Saitek ended up breaking well before it's time was up...the only thing that's lasted relatively well would be my Saitek combat flight pedals. They look nice but end up just showing their true colors after the buttons and innards start to act up due to the cheap components they use. Don't even get me started on their keyboards...
Bought all of these, arriving in 2 weeks...

Is there a way to control the rudder if you only get the yoke and throttle quadrant?
It's 2019 and Saitek still hasn't produced any ERJ models.
Mixture does not draw in more air as you claim. It's a simple matter of reducing the fuel flow to match the density of the air and keep the ratio between the two.
I am shopping for sim controls now. Very nice video.

Yea and u need to pull that yoke back in a turn too...i mean unless you like losing altitude.... Turning a plane requires using all three primary flight controls
And the throttle because you'll lose airspeed too.

About the rudder pedals:
After using them for three years i can say that they are not worth the money.
The awful design in the plastic against plastic sliding mechanism absolutely sucks dirt in and just a bit of dirt and they go grindy and rough, making precise movement impossible.
These pedals are only good for a few months of use before they become grindy, sticky and loose.
And the brakepedals themselfes also goes loose and you cant tighten them enough to fix them.
You are better of buying those Thrustmaster cheapish pedals.
Calling the Saitek Cessna Pro Flight Yoke a high end yoke.....
Oh, and apologise if i heard wrong, but its called F/A-18, not F-18.
Sorry for my rant, you are a fine chap, but those products.....

Does the throttle have reversers?
I purchased this second band. Turns out the clamps on it were missing...
I wish Saitek would have spent 1/4 the time and resources it took to develop 3 different pedals to do the same thing, and made an approachable cyclic/collective set.with a twist throttle. Basically an x45/x52/x55/x56 with some 3d printed parts to extend the joystick and make a collective handle. They could charge 300-400US for $20 worth of parts. I don't think there is anything available at that price point, they would corner the market with anyone who wants to start flying helicopters or even the V-22 Osprey.

If you read lots of reviews, then you will go with the CH Products Eclipse Yoke. At this price point CH Products is a superior design.
Hi I have Microsoft Flight Sim X. After install the Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Driver, I calibrated and it look fine. However, when I test the propeller and mixture in a C-208 and C-175 they don't work.
Could you please tell me what is happen? How can I make both propeller and mixture work? Thank you

Hi sir I do have a question about the yoke. I watched your video yesterday and after it I bought a yoke because this video explained to me a lot of information. You said that the yoke turns 90degrees but mine yoke does not turn 90 degrees. My yoke turns 50 degrees. Why would it not turn 90 degrees? Is it broken? Please answer my question. Thanks

Hi, is there screw holes in the bottom of the yoke so you can hard mount it to your desk or are you only able to use the clamp???
when you are moving the tail rudder, only move it a few degrees left or right, unless of course you want to rip your tail off.

I have issues with my Multipanel, namely the trim wheel does not work on any aircraft use (A2A, Flight 1 general FSX default etc). I use SPAD and tired FSUIIPC to no avail. The rest of the panel works including flaps (I only fly C172 and B200 so don't need auto throttle yet).

I don't want to look like a know it all but in modern airliners the front wheel is controlled hydraulically with a steerer, from the captains seat in his left hand.. the more you know!!
Does this yoke system work with Bombadier and Boeing aircraft as well? That's mainly what I've been flying in FSX and it's awkward as all hell to do it with a Logitech joystick.

Pete, how come you've not covered the issues with Saitek drivers? Many are forced to use SPADNext drivers to get other panels to work.

EDIT: I also noticed that the only website that has these in stock is Amazon and the price is more than double what other sites are charging. Is there a reason for the drastic price increase?
It's demand. Alot of gamers getting into space sims these days. Particularly Elite Dangerous. Flight sim controllers have always been a niche market....so I'm guessing the overload is catching them by surprise.
I'm in the same situation trying to get new rudder pedals for DCS World. Can't find the type of pedal I want anywhere. Everywhere is back ordered. Even high end sellers like MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals are back ordered.
+Dereck Dunn if you go to "the pilot store" you can buy items at original (non-inflated" cost. But they are back ordered as well. Buying puts you on the list to have it shipped to you when it comes in. The site says anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks.

The reason it's much more expensive is that these are VERY high-demand. It took me almost a year to get a yoke standard-price.

Which model Cessna are you working with in this video.....172 ? 182 ? ???? If 172, which model ...... all of the Cessna's I've seen (SIM and real world) do NOT have a Constant Speed prop, ergo the PROP lever on the controls is NOT needed and otherwise USELESS. Nothing like leading viewers astray. Way to go !!!

I tried to contact Mad Catz support 3 ways, but they just ignored me and never responded to my ticket, I am getting very irritated. I am the consumer here and I am being ignored. Can you help me?
